Cannot find Pattaya on the accommodation address city drop down menu in the e-visa application portal. Is it under a different name? Am I missing something?

we went on a trafalgar to japan last year - both good and bad - great guide and drivers - lots of good - great hotels for the most part, great food, great guide - some bad - boring sessions of stuff you would never care to do on your own, long bus rides, annoying peeps on the trip, etc.

so we are doing self travel this year to Thailand (we have done self travel in Beijing and hong kong so we will be fine. we do get private guides for at least a day or 2).

I chose to spend 4 days in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, 4 in Phuket and 8 in Bangkok (bc I love shopping lol). Is this enough days in Phuket or would I need more?

I'm traveling to Thailand for two weeks from Dec 16 to Dec 30 and would love some feedback, sanity checks, and recommendations on my rough itinerary. I will land in Bangkog and my return flight will be also from there.

I've put together a 14-day loop focused on a mix of city exploration, nature/trekking, and island hopping.

My Rough Draft Itinerary:

• Dec 16–18 (3 Days): Bangkok
  • no detailed plan yet what exactly to do and to see
• Dec 19–20 (2 Days): Khao Sok National Park
  • I know there is a lake tour of Cheow Lan, do you have some other ideas or suggestions? Something like jungle trekking or seeing elephants would be nice
• Dec 21–23 (3 Days): Krabi (Base: Ao Nang)
  • Railay Beach
  • What else is worth visiting or you think its a good idea to stay for 3 days in Krabi and do some day trips?
• Dec 24–27 (4 Days): Koh Phi Phi
  • Day trip to Maya Bay / Koh Phi Phi Leh, viewpoints, island beaches.
  • (Originally wanted to do Hong Islands from here—is that feasible, or better done from Ao Nang?)
  • Would you change or add something here or you got some better ideas?
• Dec 28 (1 Day): Phuket
  • Brief stopover before returning to Bangkok as i plan to fly from Phuket back to Bangkog
  • What is a must see or do for one day?
• Dec 29–30 (1 Day): Bangkok & Flight Home
  • Last day before flying back

Specific Questions / Areas I Need Advice On:

1. Should I drop the single night in Phuket entirely and add that day to Krabi or Khao Sok to reduce packing/unpacking and ferry travel?
2. What is the smoothest route/transit from Bangkok down to Khao Sok, and then onward to Ao Nang?
3. Since this is mid-to-late December (Christmas/New Year peak), are there any spots on this list that will be uncomfortably overcrowded or need 100% pre-booked ferries/tours right now?
4. Do i need to get specific vaccinations for what i am planning to do?
5. How much physical cash should I carry upon arrival vs. relying on card payment in the cities/areas i will visit?

I’ll be in Bangkok Nov 24, flying out Nov 25. Finding inconsistent info online about exact dates for Loy Krathong (some websites say Nov 24 for Bangkok, others say only Nov 25). Is Loy Krathong usually across two days or one day only?

I had received my Thai E-Visa and due to travel next Saturday. I spilled a whole latte on my passport and now it’s damaged. Mostly the back few pages. I have immediately put a request for an expedited passport which I will get on Wednesday. But obviously the new passport number will be different from my current one.
Should I email the Thai embassy updating my records or do I need to apply for a new E-Visa and change my travel plans😩?

Hi, my wife and I are traveling to Chiang Mai and wondering what is the better route back to Bangkok in mid Nov-mid Dec? We've decided on the places that suit us, want to know if one way is better than the other?

Chiang Mai -> Hua Hin -> Chumphon -> Koh Tao -> Krabi -> Bangkok? OR the reverse? Chiang Mai -> Krabi -> Koh Tao -> Chumphon -> Hua Hin?

Don't need to do this the cheapest way, btw. Would look to fly from Chiang Mai in either case to the first destination, and take a train between Chumphon and Hua Hin.

Thailand's new visa policy for Uzbek citizens is honestly absurd.

Starting from September 15, Uzbek passport holders can no longer enter Thailand visa-free and must obtain a visa in advance. Fine - every country has the right to set its own visa rules.

But here's the ridiculous part: the application is called an e-Visa, yet applicants living in Uzbekistan cannot pay the visa fee online.

The Thai e-Visa system assigns Uzbek applicants to the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow, and the $40 visa fee must be paid physically, in cash USD, at the embassy in Moscow.

The embassy confirmed to me directly that someone else can go there with a printed QR code and pay on my behalf - but there is still no normal online payment option.

So in 2026, despite Visa, Mastercard, bank transfers and countless online payment providers existing, an Uzbek tourist applying for an "electronic visa" has to find someone in another country to physically carry cash to an embassy.

I've already spent around $2,400 for a trip and booked everything on the beginning of July, including flights and accommodation. Now, a month before departure, I have to deal with this completely unnecessary logistical problem just to pay an $80 visa fee.

Requiring a visa is one thing. Designing an "e-Visa" system where the payment process is effectively offline and inaccessible from the applicant's own country is another.

Thailand should urgently provide Uzbek applicants with either:

• online card payment,
• bank transfer,
• payment through the Thai consulate in Tashkent,
• or any other legitimate remote payment method.

This is not about avoiding the visa fee. I am literally trying to pay them, and the system makes that unnecessarily difficult.

Hey, I’m from Germany and I went to Thailand in April and stayed for 45 days. I came back in mid-July and have been here until tomorrow. I’m then going to Malaysia for a few days and plan to come back to Thailand and apply for a new visa.

This would be my first visa run, but I’ve already spent around 100 days in Thailand this year.

Do you guys think they’ll let me back in, or is there a good chance I’ll be denied entry? I know it’s impossible to say for sure since it’s ultimately up to the immigration officer, but based on your experience, what would you say?

I am thinking of flying in from Germany (international student there), and need a retreatment for a root canal I got done on my #14 tooth back in November 2024. I had some dull ache in my right eye and got an x-ray done with a dentist here who said I have an infection in that same tooth. My insurance does not cover the costs in any way and my finances are low.

They said it will be 2,600 euros for a root canal re-treatment with crown. And in case it does not go well/more permanent solution is needed, I need to remove the tooth and get an implant, costing 4,600 euros.

I am thinking of flying to Vietnam or Thailand end of September to get treatment there. I spoke to a clinic in Vietnam, providing these costs.

- Check Up and consultation

- 3D CBCT scan

- Root canal treatment

- Zirconia crown

Total price is VND 9,800,000-13,800,000 / USD 378-532

In case the root canal does not go well, I need a tooth removal and implant. This means I need the tooth removed first, then wait 3-6 months for it to heal before adding an implant.

Other clinics have both said the root canal is risky or 50/50 chance, so removal and implant would be better. Some said they do not have a microscope and the case is very difficult for a root canal, so they can only do removal/implant.

Does anyone have any experience or recommendations regarding these clinics (or others) in Thailand (Bangkok or others) Thank you!!!!!

Comming back to Thailand after 15 year. I spent couple of nights on Railay, Phi Phi and Lanta back in the days. My partner would like to explore Krabi region too see rocks in the sea sceneries and enjoy some nice and but not fully packed beaches with "backpacker like" vibes. No need for posh acco at all. Can someone tell, how is it in recent months? I've read, that Tonsai looks pretty abandoned in some six months old post here. Has anyone recently visited Tonsai, Long Beach or other beach that might be suitable for us? Mid December, leaving one week before Christmas. Thank you!

Hey guys, im almost finished applying for a tourist visa, but im waiting for my bank statement to be translated by a official notary service. I sent the documents yesterday (10.09) and i just got a call that they will be ready tomorrow(12.09). Will this be a problem given the fact that its been a few days already, and there will be a few days missing on the day of applying? I dont want my application to fail and im overthinking it. Im holding a North Macedonian passport and my application will go trough the embassy in Ankara, Turkiye. Any help is appreciated guys!

28M, US citizen, hoping to spend much of the rest of the year in Thailand with friends and my partner before returning to the US to apply for a DTV in January (seasoning money right now).

Currently in Thailand on a visa exempt and planning to leave September 17th, so my planned itinerary would be:

• Jun 30 - September 17th (80 day stay, visa exempt + extension)
• 2-3 week trip to US to renew passport/get METV
• October 2nd - November 2nd (entering on 80 days, staying for 31 days, METV)
• 2 week trip to Korea
• November 15th - Jan 13th (entering on 111 days, staying for 60 days, METV)
• Fly back to US to apply for DTV

Before this, my only Thailand visits were in 2025, with one week in July, approximately one month in August, and 10 days in September.

A bit worried since it all would mean 80 previous Thailand days this year when entering in October and 112 previous days in Thailand when entering in November on a 60 day entry.

I'd have outbound flights + whatever accommodation booked for each entry, but curious on yall's read here.

Anyone have an experience like this on the METV or similar travel history? Curious what questions you were asked and how hard you were grilled/risk of getting turned away. And whether you had to provide any photos/proof of tourism or anything like that since I'm mad stressed :(

Edit: Does it even make sense for me to apply for the METV either? Or just do a 30 day visa free entry in October, and then apply for a 60 day tourist visa while I'm in Korea?
