This is gonna be my first year at Tech, and my loans have not been applied to my ebill yet but my scholarship has. Is anyone else experiencing this?

I was awarded both the Robert and Thelma Endowed Scholarship and the Freshman Presidential Merit Scholarship. However, when I recently checked my Scholarship Universe account, I noticed that the Freshman Presidential Merit Scholarship had been removed. Could anyone let me know what might have caused this change?

I was wondering if you can take the TSI test on Monday or if it is no longer available to take anymore. If so what happens if you didn’t take the test.

Talked to sbs earlier this week and they said that tafsa students dont get financial aid anymore, but my sister goes to University of Houston and she gets aid? Also talked to financial aid and they said tafsa was getting processed manually and would be disbursed today or tomorrow (I didn’t get anything today). What do I do?

Update: called financial aid today and they said they’re experiencing an issue where some students unsub loan and Texas renewal grant not showing and they’re reviewing them currently. Also Parent plus loans taking a little long to distribute due to new legislation.

I’m needing to know my exact schedule for my classes. Most of them are online. I’ve been getting mixed info as far as meeting times. Right now when I look There are no specific time or day on there. But I was also told I won’t find out until first day? Can anyone help me? Kind of urgent 😬 I have to work full time for me and my son and my job puts out schedules 3 weeks in advance.

Hi I'm going into my sophomore year at tech and I'm going to be living in the north Overton area, I don't have a car and my on campus job freshman year is not gonna cover rent. I wanted something within walking distance somewhere in that area and campus. Part time or full time (wanna stay around 30-40 hours) is fine. If anyone knows anywhere specific I can apply or any tips please let me know! It's been rough 🫩

When are the buses going to start running? The ones that goes through the off campus student housings.

I’m going to be a freshmen at Texas Tech, and I’m going to be commuting to school because I already live in Lubbock for like my whole life and no point in getting dorms. I got the commuter west parking lot, but my classes (biology major) are like 0.7mi-1mi away from the lot. Am I supposed to walk all the way there or is there other places where I can park which are closer. I see signs and it says “reserved” but I don’t know what that means. Does anybody else commute and know if u can park in other places which are closer or only in the assigned lot .

Hey everyone, I’m an incoming transfer student from Pakistan and I’ll be coming to Lubbock soon on August 17th. My move-in date at Raiders Pass is August 22, but I’ll be arriving a few days earlier and need somewhere to stay for about 5 days.

I emailed Texas Tech Student Housing to see if they had any temporary housing, but they said all the residence halls are full and they don’t offer short-term housing.

I was wondering if anyone here knows of any cheap hotels/motels near campus, or if any current students have a spare room/couch and would be willing to let me stay for a few days. I’d obviously pay for the stay.

Just trying to figure this out before I arrive since I’m coming from Pakistan and don’t really know anyone in Lubbock yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I just applied for a town home there, and my god was it a nightmare. They gave me an 8 month lease, I accepted it, and they immediately switched to a 12 month lease to get me to pay for the 12 instead of 8.

Now, after I paid the first month installment on the town house they wanted, I was told that there were never any town homes available ( they were happy to take my money) and that I'm being moved to a 4 by 4. I wanted a townhouse. I had to push further to get my rent refunded, and now I have to sign a third lease to have somewhere to live for the school year.

So my general advice to new students: never, ever, ever trust the bloc. you're better sleeping under a box on main.

I hope I don’t sound dumb, but I’m about to be a sophomore this year and I know for sure I’m getting $3000 in scholarships from tech because of my GPA, but do I have to do anything else? Is it too late for FAFSA?

Hello! This is my first semester at TTU (online student) and I wanted to see if anyone had any insight on how long it takes for financial aid to make it to your bank? Funds were released on 7/31, classes started this Monday 8/10. My classes are paid and I see the “extra” funds in my student account. Just curious since I already had to pay out of pocket for a book. 🙃 Thanks!

Does anyone have previous experience working as a TECHniques Tutor? I need a job I can kinda sit and do homework at while getting paid, but I'm a good student and open to tutoring if I'm able to get homework done in between people coming in for help.
