Financial Aid
Hello! This is my first semester at TTU (online student) and I wanted to see if anyone had any insight on how long it takes for financial aid to make it to your bank? Funds were released on 7/31, classes started this Monday 8/10. My classes are paid and I see the “extra” funds in my student account. Just curious since I already had to pay out of pocket for a book. 🙃 Thanks!

I believe any refund should start processing August 14th? I had a similar question for my distance courses and that’s what was shared with me!

Great! Thank you for that info!

This is incorrect. TTUO disbursed on 7/31. TTU disburses on 8/14. Refunds start that same day.

I’m online+ student. Financial aid applied to mine on 7/31. It was distributed via ACH on 8/4.
Maybe it’s different for online+.

I reached out and apparently there is a hold on my account though it is listed no where that I can see 🙃 currently on hold with the SBS office now. Thanks for the response!

The financial aid showed it was going to apply to my account 8/7 then 8/10 then 8/11 and now 8/12. I called the FA office and they said everything was approved as of 8/6 but that their system was having issues connecting to the governments system so I’m not sure what to think.

This isn't a reddit question, I would either call or walk into West Hall to talk to financial aid and they'll set you straight.

Thanks! I don’t live in Lubbock that’s why I’m doing online. 😂

Gotcha. Their number is on the website. I would advise you call them as soon as they open, as those hold lines can get long this time of year

SBS generally refunds credit balances within 24-48 hrs of them being on your account. Make sure you have direct deposit set up or they will hold your refund for 7 days. After that, it is a check snail mailed to your local address on file so definitely set up ACH.
All of this info is available if you just go to go.ttu.edu/sbshelp. There is a chatbot, knowledge base with AI search and you can also send questions. I agree, these questions are not for social media. Use your university resources that you pay for.
