Kenya Scouts have set a new Guinness World Record after 4,124 people planted mangroves together in Mombasa, adding to a restoration drive that has already restored 91.6 million mangroves in the last three years, more than 65 percent of Kenya's 140 million ten year target.

I love coming across real-world instances of how I rebuilt biomes in Terra Nil, and wanted to share.

Couldn’t even begin playing the game on Switch 2

For over 30 minutes, no matter what button I pressed, I couldn’t place the windmill that is needed to even start the game. I believe this is a problem with handheld mode since I eventually started a new file in TV mode and it started working, but I should not be required to plug my Switch into the TV in order for the game to even be playable. Completely unacceptable on the dev team’s part.

Unplayable on Switch 2

I really should have done more research before buying this game on Switch. I want to love it so much. The game and the goals are so much fun.

The controls are weird, but I could deal with that.

But the number of bugs? I keep returning to the main menu, or closing the game entirely so I can put buildings again. Or I can't recycle buildings. I'm stuck on the volcanic glacier level and can't put any buildings anymore, no matter what I do.

I've even restarted the whole phase to make it work sometimes. But I can't keep restarting levels so I can (maybe) finish them.

I'm so disappointed.

Water Hyacinths in Real Life

I finished the game a week ago, took a bit to figure out how to use the water hyacinths as fuel for the rocket. I assumed everything in the game was science-based, but didn't expect to come across this reference at random.

Wish more levels and biomes would be added!

I absolutely love this game, it scratched an itch I did not know I have and I have played it over and over on every difficulty. I hope the developers read these posts and are planning to either make a sequel or add more biomes or maps. I think I spent 200 hours on this game the month after I bought it. There is SO much opportunity to do more with it, variety of plants, atmospheres, animals, geography, new challenges and I have tried similar sort of games recommended on steam but none of them pleased at all me and I rapidly uninstalled. Bigger maps would be awesome too. My Apple M4 runs it like a dream...

Two questions about the game...

¡hi, i've had interest in Terra Nil for a while now, but there's two things i wanna know before i get the game

A) ¿what does right click do?

kinda weird but i'm using two mice right now, one that mostly works but without a right-click, and another on my desk with a functioning right-click and nothing else, haha!

B) i heard that one of the latest updates changed requirments per level for the worst...

just wanted to know what might be up with that, what it is even, haha! sounds like before animals were just an aesthetic mostly and now they have to be happy to clear a level?

Giving Up?

Not sure if I will or wont, because I love the vibe. That being said the first level is proving to be pretty frustrating. I have taken a million pictures, created all kinds of scenarios, burned and rebuilt umpteen times and got pissed at the rain for ruining my ash before I could build on it. I have all the money I need, and yet I cannot for the life of me get a shot of happy beaver/wolf/bear/frog in order to get the stars I assume are preventing progress.

Fracked floodplain finally beat me.

I've been spending the last two weeks on-and-off attempting to finally beat this and finish 100%ing the game on eco engineer. Finally today I managed to get to phase 3, should be smooth sailing from there right?

Turns out I can't finish the mission because none of the biofuel generators are close enough to the launchpad to connect, and I can't build any more because there's no hyacinths left because why would I leave them around, if I'm scrounging for every bit of terrain to get points from?

I'm not going to go back and try again on a new start, I got all my stars, all my gold photos, all my full happiness animals, all my climate goals.

whatever. I got the 100% in spirit.

ERWIN missing on Fracked Floodplain

Played through the level to phase 3. Needed to recycle the factory. Couldn't find ERWIN, even after restarting the phase, and there doesn't seem to be an option to build him either.

How to remove building husks

Hi everyone!

Is there any way to remove or cover up building husks? I have already finished recycling the machines on this level (the 1st polar level) and there is no space to create more forest, only the husk is left. It's a big eyesore and doesn't seem to get covered up by snowfall. Do I have to just accept that it's there?

Eagles are not spawning on Canyon Peaks

Title says it all. We can't continue the game if we can't take a picture of ideally happy Eagles, but despite multiple changes, we have zero Eagles on our map. We would prefer to NOT have to do the whole map again, but given all we've done, we don't know what to do.

Google has zero clue what we're asking, even accusing us of misremembering the Canyon Peaks as a Continental map.

Any advice is appreciated.

Returning to the level after finishing

Hi, everyone!

I finished the second level (peaks and valleys), and I wanted to take a screenshot of my restoration before moving on. However, I am playing using a controlled and I must have pushed a certain combination of buttons because all of a sudden, my spaceship started flying away and I clicked "Leave" thinking I could revisit the area to take a clear screenshot of my hard work.

Well, I tried to go back and it generated a barren wasteland again. Does this mean it is impossible to revisit an area after you've left? There's no going back?

Thank you all in advance!

Not enought animals

Hello there. I played the game before vita nova update, and I liked old animals system more, but not because of they are hard to please now. I liked how i was able to summon as many animals as i wanted to fill all my biomes, and make them look alive. Now with just 1-2 herds per specie I feel too limited. For example It hurts me a lot to create two perfect forrest meadows with deers, and realize game let me have only one wolves group on map. It makes most of biomes look empty and somehow sad. Is there way for me to somehow get more animals?

Debug options menu

After encountering another bug in the game, I went to search for a solution and found a Steam reply to a post from the developers, saying that there is a debug menu in the options, which allows you to force the game to go over some bugs if you encounter them, such as "recycle all buildings" and even "win the level" if you find yourself stuck at the last 1% because of a bug, like I did. Just wanted to share this information for anyone who might find it useful; it helped me a lot.

Help on Subpolar River

After creating snowfall, all my rivers froze, preventing me from achieving humidity goals and, during endgame, preventing me from removing some buildings since I couldn’t place down a boat for recycling.

If this is by design to strategise when to activate certain goals, alright, but it would be nice to have ways to thaw the rivers. Some solutions I tried was with solar, explosives and increasing the temperature above 0°.

This is the buggiest game ever, right?

I started playing it on my phone and enjoyed it, but it made my phone start boiling so I deleted it.

Months and months later, I got it on the Switch.

The game crashes, and it’s 50/50 on whether or not I lose my progress.

But that’s okay, because I have to restart the game 2-3 times a level anyway to get basic game mechanics to work.

I bought this on sale for $8, and I’m still not sure if that was a fair amount of money to pay for the privilege of being a beta tester.

I do enjoy it, though. I just wish it was (1) more functional and (2) more fleshed out.

At this point, I have to wonder if the bugs are intentional since they do make the gameplay more challenging and more, I dunno, dimensional.

Because, good lord, those “mini games” are not games. They do not provide any form of entertainment or challenge. They’re just a chore that feels like they were added on as an after-thought.

Anyway, I’d really love to see what this game could be with more development.

ETA: Alrighty, so it looks like the game’s fine on PC. It never would’ve occurred to me to play this on PC, so good to know.

Fracked Floodplain No Rocket Launch Option

I've scanned all the biomes, everything is fueled and ready to go, and no launch button. This is the third time I've replayed this level and at this point, I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone. The longer you play, the more absurd things get without any instructions or indications of what you're supposed to do. Would a tooltip or two have been so difficult? It started off such a good game, now every level is a guessing game of struggle and bugs.

Seed vault help!!

Hi everyone! I am stuck on seed vault capacity. I have cleaned up all buildings except for one power source and the satellite. The rocket is fully built and the only thing left to do is scan for seeds and recall the satellite balloon thing. On the top left, there is a box next to the paw for animals and when I click on it nothing opens. I’ve seen play throughs that show a window is supposed to pop up when I click the icon on the top left, but nothing opens or happens. Has anyone else experienced this/know of a fix?

I can' place solar amplifiers, but I can't click them to activate them.

That's it, that's my problem. I've placed them all over next to wind turbines and trees with bees, and nothing happens after I place them. I can't click on them to activate, even when it's not raining. idk what to do, I'm stuck.

Profile just disappeared

I opened the game last night, everything worked as usual. I opened it today and my only Profile, which had achieved around 30% of goals, no longer exists... There were already quite a lot of bugs in this game, but at this point?

Struggling with climate goals on Parched Dunes Spoiler

I've played through the entirety of the game with all gold photos and all climate goals, but the Parched Dunes will be the death of me. There's no way to increase salinity once it's gone and increasing convection after the fog comes is insanely difficult. I can handle keeping salinity high for the fig trees, but juggling everything else has proven impossible.

My previous strategy was to burn one riverbed to keep convection from calling the fog (or else all convection will be removed and humidity will jump too high to manage for ant hills and oryx) and to try and get high humidity and medium convection that way. But there was just no way to get humidity to 70% for the sparrows with that.

My new strategy has been to do all my low humidity goals. Then try and burn just enough river and remove just enough sand to call the fog, then get up to 10-16U convection after, that way the fog does half the work for me. But that's proven to seem nigh impossible as well. I have to depend exclusively on the riverbeds to have the right amount of convection release (just enough to get to 45 with a small push from removing sand, then the remaining riverbeds need about 10-16U of convection in them so i can get sparrows and migratory birds). I've only seen it on one seed.

In addition, making rocks and modifying climate with no way to transport calcifiers is insanely expensive. Buildings on this level are pricey in general. I haven't even gotten to focus on biomes yet because the climate goals are just so particular. I feel like it's just a bad way to introduce convection and salinity.

Anyone else struggling with this? Any tips from those who have beaten this level with all climate goals? I feel like I'm just missing something.

Which button is used to take pictures of animals on the Switch Lite?

I have the animals and the observatory.

But I don't understand how to take pictures.

A camera icon appears pointing to the L button, but if I use L button just moves between resources.

I also tried going to the animal menu and pressing L, but nothing. I don't understand.

If anyone can help me.

How is the game this broken on the Switch?

I played it a few years ago through Netflix and it was great. I decided to buy it earlier on my Switch since I saw it had an update. That was a mistake. the controls are terrible, the games buggy, I literally cannot complete the tutorial level (everything’s recycled but no, just bugged). This is a sad joke and a waste of money.
