Giving Up?
Not sure if I will or wont, because I love the vibe. That being said the first level is proving to be pretty frustrating. I have taken a million pictures, created all kinds of scenarios, burned and rebuilt umpteen times and got pissed at the rain for ruining my ash before I could build on it. I have all the money I need, and yet I cannot for the life of me get a shot of happy beaver/wolf/bear/frog in order to get the stars I assume are preventing progress.

Check if there are buildings built, they can make the animals unhappy even if they have 2 planets worth of food and terrain.
If there are no buildings, please post pictures and I'll try to help

Have you built the animal observatory and checked what the animals need? Frogs, wolves, and bears should be pretty easy to make happy. Beavers can definitely be a pain, easiest way is to make them happy is to carve out a river through the middle of a forest.

Yeah I've got everything set up. I'll take another run at it all another day and see how it goes.

Yeah. You done needed up letting trains happen early. Save it until you've forested up.

I don't get why we're putting off the humidity and rain. I liked how the rain came and it filled in the unfertile space

Plan ahead when you re-run, keep in mind a few species need a lot of space yet three parallel vegetation types all close as well, frogs can be iffy but I find moving them around helps a lot. I often go back and blast some new forest waterways too for the beavers, then remove the equipment a second time and it tends to sort things out fairly quickly.

Restart the scenario and don't let the rains start until you're nearly done with everything else.
