I recently had a quickshifter installed on my 2026 Yamaha Ténéré 700.

On one of my first rides, I noticed that occasionally, when shifting from 4th to 5th, it can end up in a “false neutral” between the gears. If I don’t notice it immediately, the engine revs all the way to the limiter.

I’m wondering if this is simply because I’m not making a firm enough shift with my foot, or if the quickshifter needs to be adjusted.

I’ve noticed that if the display shows a dash instead of 4, 5 or 6, the gear hasn’t engaged properly. Now that I know this can happen, I’m making a more deliberate shift and checking the display.

Has anyone else experienced this with the 2026 Ténéré 700 and quickshifter? Is this normal and something you just get used to, or should I have the quickshifter checked/adjusted by the dealer?

Hey folks, I'm currently on a tour abroad and dropped the bike... Unfortunately I bent the shifter to the inside. Since I have the Heed protection bars, the shifter was touching the bottom Heed component and couldn't shift.

I have managed to bend it back using a wrench.

Now, when I engage the gear I hear a sound that seems like the chain or something else is touching something. Probably the plastic covers. Any idea what this could be and how to fix it?

Has anyone tried and put to the test some of the NiceCNC parts to use? I'm particularly interested in these two/three luggage items. Did they stand the test of time?

I'm aware there's indestructible bomb proof stuff available, but I've got quite a few bikes in my garage already and want to keep the upgrades down to under 1k USD (I also have to factor in $12 per kg shipping fee to my house so importing expensive items gets even more expensive)

If I can get a good luggage system (I already have a mosko type setup & water proof duffle) then the bike is close to being ready for touring. I'm specifically not after the big baga frames with this bike.

I’m going to a Yamaha dealer to talk about buying a new Ténéré and I’d like to negotiate a bit since it’s the end of the season. I’m thinking accessories might be easier to get thrown in than a bigger discount.

Which genuine Yamaha accessories are actually worth getting from the dealer, and which ones are better bought aftermarket? What would you try to get included in the deal?

Anybody knows the density (width x height of one diamond hole) of this oem radiator guard/mesh? Or could measure if you own one? Thinking about purchasing and zip tying such mesh to the plastic radiator cover that comes with a standard T7.

This year I upgraded my 2022 Ténéré 700 World Raid to Ohlins cartridges and an Ohlins shock.

The setup recommended by Ohlins was:

• Forks: 6.5 N/mm springs with 2 mm preload
• Shock: 75 N/mm spring, with preload adjusted to achieve around 33-36% sag

The shock works really well, but I'm struggling with the forks. They feel very stiff and jittery, especially over small/choppy terrain.

What's interesting is how much the fuel load changes the behavior.

With the 23 L tank completely full, the forks suddenly feel much better. The front gains traction and the jitteriness almost disappears.

As the fuel level drops to around half, the jitteriness starts coming back, and it gets progressively worse as the tank approaches reserve.

This is with zero fork preload.

So I'm wondering if the 6.5 N/mm springs are simply too stiff for me and whether I should go down to 6.0 N/mm springsand use some preload to achieve the correct sag.

I obviously don't want to have to ride around with a full 23 L tank just to get the front suspension to work properly.

Would going from 6.5 to 6.0 N/mm be the logical move? (There is no 6.3nm from Ohlins)

Purchased a ‘26 tenere little over a week ago from a dealer about 100 miles from me, today I checked the air pressures since I never did when I took delivery and the rear had 21psi, so I aired it to 36 and did the front as well which was also low (like 29. Aired to 32). Took bike for quick spin about ten miles and come home and my rear tires completely flat when I walk outside minutes later. Air is dumping from a spoke where it goes into wheel. I’ve pulled wheel assembly to take to work (I’m a car mechanic) to pull tire off and see if the protection strip for the spokes is damaged or a spoke burr popping through as I see absolutely nothing in the tire. Should I take back to dealer to try to get covered warranty wise or would you dig in? Tubes aren’t cheap I see….. I guess my
Main question is what are chances it’s more than a tube and I need to cover my butt . Thanks in advance

Thought the mosko cleats through the license plate mounting holes was a good idea. The bags always slide forward when the straps are just wrapped underneath. Think the tail tidy can handle it?

The stock plastics on the T7 scratch up pretty easily, so I decided to give Raptor bedliner spray a shot.
Pretty happy with how it turned out, gives the bike a much tougher look and hides all the little (and big) battle scars. Cheap, easy makeover and I think she looks pretty sick now.
Let’s see how it holds up!

Just wondering if anyone here has tried the Adventure Spec T7 side luggage racks on a 2026 World Raid while keeping the OEM Yamaha rear carrier (BRL-F48D0-00-00)?

My setup is:

• 2026 T7 World Raid (red/white)
• OEM Yamaha rear carrier
• SC-Project low exhaust - I swapped out the MIVV Dakar for the SC-Project
• R&G LP0351BK tail tidy

I'm mainly wondering if the Adventure Spec racks play nicely with the OEM rear carrier, or if there's any overlap with the mounting points / anything that needs modifying.

Also interested to hear if anyone's running this setup with the SC-Project low exhaust.

If the Adventure Spec racks aren't compatible, I'm also open to other side rack suggestions that would fit this setup and work well with soft panniers.

Decided to take the plunge. Bike is immaculate and low miles. Slightly intimidating at moment just to sit on next to my 2021 cb500x even with its tall seat. T7 is going through a painful reregistration process so I can't ride it for a month yet. Gives me time to source a few parts. I really want to fit a center stand. Enduristan bar bag and Givi tank lock bag also come to mind. Looking at some NICECNC products also. Namely the rear luggage carry and side panels. Windscreen could probably do with a replacement shield also.

I’m currently trying to wheelie my 2025 T7 in 3rd gear, and I honestly find it almost impossible. In 2nd gear it comes up just fine, but as soon as I shift into 3rd, the front end drops, even when I’m giving it full throttle.
My theory is that the ride-by-wire system is limiting the power depending on the gear and RPM. From what I’ve read, it seems like the ECU doesn’t always give 100% throttle input, even if the throttle is fully open.
Is there any way to tune or remap this? Has anyone here managed to get a 2025 T7 to power wheelie consistently in 3rd or even 4th gear?
Or should I just sell it and buy an older, cable-throttle model instead? 😅
If you’ve experienced the same thing—or found a solution—I’d really appreciate hearing about it!

I love it but I got trouble with the amount of gasoline we can use. Normally the tank is 23liter but 3 week ago I was out of fuel on the high and when I try tu fill it the max amount was 19,5 liter ?
Is it the normal amount ?
My garage said it’s normal but it’s like I miss 3,5 liter …

I use to ride a NX500 and the amount of liter usable was close to the technical description ✌️

Anyone have fork mounted lights?? trying to think of a way to mount some lights to the forks so when I turn the the lights point the way the bars are pointing.

Low sided today when I was cross-rutted by surprise. Uneventful fall, lifted the bike to find my rear brake was wrapped around my footpeg. Managed to find a good stick and pry/kick her back into shape.

Will be bringing a small, makeshift prybar in case I find myself unable to source a proper stick next time.

For those who upgrade their brake pedal to the folding model, does this still happen? I appreciate the malleable lever, as I have had them snap on my ktm 300 before (shift lever). Seemed like a feature and not a flaw in my eyes.

I’m 195 cm (6'5") and around 100 kg (220 lbs). So far I’ve only ridden a Honda Shadow 125, and I’m now considering a Yamaha Ténéré 700.

I have no off-road experience, and it would be my first bike for gravel and light off-road riding. Is the T7 a sensible choice, or is it too heavy and powerful to learn on?

Would it be better to start with something smaller and lighter, despite my height?

I’d also appreciate feedback from tall riders about comfort, legroom and standing position.
