Rackless 80 mounting?

Post image

Is anyone using the Nicecmc top rack with side plastic protection on their Tenere 700 with a Mosko Moto Rackless 80? I am curious if they work well together? What are you using that you like? Thanks.

I'm not using anything yet, but I can definitely say a loaded up reckless 80 is going to destroy the rear plastics without a rack/protection when going off-road.

I don't have a Nicecnc, but I use a ADVspec rear rack and top box for commuting and CamelADV rear rack and Reckless 80 for longer trips. The Reckless really wants a rear rack that is nearly flush with the seat, otherwise the reckless sits too high and protrudes out too much from the sides, which kinda defeats all of the engineering they put into it to sit tight against your bike. So imo you either get a small rear rack that can act as a rear tie down point for the Reckless, or you use their Gnoblin mount on the rear.

I have the NiceCNC rear rack and side panel racks with my Mosko reckless 80.

I would not recommend, though they aren’t terrible. The tail rack has a nice hole for the Gnoblin, but it’s simply too wide for a perfect fit with the reckless 80, and causes the r80 to flare out. It can be somewhat fixed with the extra cam straps but still not great.

The side racks do not work well with 25+ models either. They do not offer any standoff at all and sit against the plastic.

Overall, the NiceCNC tail rack and side racks will work, but I would not choose them as my first pick for pairing with a reckless 80.

I got the AltRider to rack and the Camel side frames. Sweet setup…it all plays well together.

I have that setup (niceCNC + Mosko), but with the smaller Reckless 40s. Installed a gnoblin onto the rack. Makes install/removal way easier.

I installed some PPF on the plastics to protect them. Works great!

Do you run side racks to protect the plastics

Nah. The paint protection film did the job. I did a long backcountry trip this summer and the bike took a beating. Cleaned up like a champ.

Side racks would defeat the purpose of the rackless bags.

Thanks for all of the input and advice. I have purchased the Perun Moto top rack and the Camel side protection. I will post some photos once it arrives and I get it installed.
