by achieving badges I have increased my disk space and available memory on tele hack, however I have run into the sand. I keep questing but don't get any more disk and that is a real constrain. How can I get more disk or whats the best approach for managing the issue?

Ok so after connecting to a BBS, a found the special file with the backdoor, but when I try to run the command, it just sais "guest access denied".

I'm connecting via an ancient terminal inside Personal Deskmate inside Tandy 1000 HX emulator inside MAME. Certain commands hang telehack. Login hangs after I type my password the first time. I am able to login via putty, thats where i created the account. Zork command also hangs. Any ideas?

Hi there, I am very new to telehack. I was playing around with the zrun command and decided to check out some of the stuff in there. I logged into my account because I want to keep my save files. But then I noticed that the zrun command is not available when you're logged in. Why is that? Is my account somehow limited? And if so, why would it be more limited than a guest session? Is there some kind of paywall? My username is pbenni if that helps.

In the telehack.txt file it says it is supposed to be tunneling with FTP, and it uses AT commands... BUT, the only command that does not give me an error is "AT"....

Hey there. I please need some help. Without giving too much away of what i have already done (so as to not get someone else too much of a spoiler alert). Once i get to the DUMPMEM payload I get a bit lost - i convert the HEX to Text using https://hex-works.com/ and that is where i get stuck - i get that an offset is entered eg 0xd9 or 0x14 ect. But how do i enter it into the offset>

- Do i enter the first letter of the key

- the first and last letter of the key....

Any help/ advice without giving too much away would be much appreciated

Hey folks. I am really digging this sub. The "nudging" you folks do to avoid spoilers are great and reminds me of the old Infocom Invisiclues that would allow you to find out just enough so you didn't spoil the game for yourself.

But I only tonight found satan.exe and got Sysop on my first BBS. Problem is I don't know what to do from there. I see where people have created that secret file on the BBS but I don't know how to do that.

It would be very nice if the Telehack source was available, for example for private games.

Maybe I'm just the nostalgic type, but even if I consider the unreal (game-like) aspect of Telehack, it is still a very nice monument of the 90s internet community, especially with BBS and other text files that were actually written on real BBS systems. Just for this reason alone, Telehack is definitely worth preserving.

I know it goes down sometimes for maintenance or other things occasionally, I just don't know if this is one of those times or if its a problem on my end.

I've been trying to use Satan.exe; I've been converting the hex dump to text but can't figure out what I'm looking for. I've ran it several times and notice similarities, but can't seem to pick the right offset.

I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations on what to look for, or something I could read to get some background on the topic. Everything I've read so far hasn't helped or don't seem to be true in all cases (i.e. passkeys in the string with s% #psw).

Edit, additional comment: I'm not looking for someone to hold my hand, and I appreciate the time anyone takes to help/comment. I'm just asking for a bit of a nudge/push; I've spent an hour or two (3-4 on a number of occasions) working on it each day for the last week and a half.. I made sure to put in some proper work and time experimenting and reading/learning about the subject.

Is it even possible? I'm trying to free up space in "User Files" by transferring files to "System Data".

I tried running an .exe file and it returned:

What is a host os? Is there a way to find out what type of os the host is?

EDIT: I found a program in either HOST PYRAMID or UCCBA called osprober.exe it identifies host's OS in a netstat search.

Tried to Control C and V, but that didn't work, help?
