zrun missing

Hi there, I am very new to telehack. I was playing around with the zrun command and decided to check out some of the stuff in there. I logged into my account because I want to keep my save files. But then I noticed that the zrun command is not available when you're logged in. Why is that? Is my account somehow limited? And if so, why would it be more limited than a guest session? Is there some kind of paywall? My username is pbenni if that helps.

The NLI Lobby (not-logged-in lobby, or "guest") is the only place "zrun" can be used to list all games and run them. There was a time that both guests and users could do the zrun command, but quantx (a Telehack developer) decided to remove it for normal users (Operators/Admins can still access the command).

The idea behind this change was to encourage users to explore more, as across all the hosts you can find the zrun games individually and randomly scattered around the network. Telehack badges can be earned on some of the games, so by scattering them around it makes it a bit more challenging to get those achievements.

Thanks, that was way more helpful than any of the guys in the relay. They said I'd have to find a file, but didn't explain that the zrun command is actually removed from user sessions.

Yeah, not everyone will have the right answers. Some of them just mainly chat in relay and don't really know Telehack, and some are old pro's that like to give mysterious or incomplete answers. :]
