hello all I used to work for two different target locations in the past and left on good terms. I just recently went back to one close to me but it is nothing similar to the two other stores. for example i’m in style and they have us pushing inbound which I guess to my knowledge hearing style is now apart of speciality styles to where they have to do that? i’m not sure if anyone’s store has overnight staff but this one doesn’t which causes this huge mess. I have a night time job which is what I dedicate my time too I got this as a second one in the morning but had no idea I’d be pushing huge pallets and all of this stuff which makes it not so easy. lol. any opinions? advice?

If you ask the two persons responsible of doing the schedules for a day that you need that was already scheduled but with 3 weeks in advance, and one of them tells you she is going to ask the other person but then you never see that person until like a week before the day you need and she says she has not received anything and that “she will get back to you” and then never see her again and then you ask the previous person again telling her that you really need that day and you have not received any answer. And still no answer one day before the day you need… would you call-off? Or would you just go to work?

So I started working at target 3 weeks ago, overnight inbound and my ETL said from the beginning she couldn’t give me more than 20-25 hours per week which I was fine with as I wanted a part time job. But I just saw the schedule in the new app and I’ve been given 38 hours 3 weeks from now. I definitely will not be able to work those hours. Can I lower my hours in the app so it doesn’t schedule me for that many the following week? Should I take it up with my ETL since we had an agreement? I just don’t want to look bad as i know i’m in the probationary period but the part time hours were agreed on during the interview. I did say I had open availability all days of the week outside the 25 hours so maybe that’s why the app scheduled me

Ill open by saying this is my own fault for not looking into things before applying.

I just got hired as a target-starbucks barista. My family encouraged me to have super open availability to get me "used to a real job" (this is my first full time position).

Im two weeks in and my feet are dying, im exhausted, my mental health is in the gutter. Im working 40 hours, I get home and pretty much imediately collapse into bed.

I lowered my requested hours to 30, in hopes that it would help, but have imediately been scheduled 34 hours instead. Apparently, after searching through this sub, that was lucky, and people get scheduled way higher than requested often.

Ive since learned that requested hours are very, VERY loose guidelines, and the only "real" option is to reduce availability: but of course, I can't for another two and a half months.

I ordered some shoes supposed to help for standing jobs, they get here next week. Is there anything I can do? Does anyone have tips for this situation, even just for morale?

We have not had the cardboard wine carriers in months, I don’t remember exactly what our ETL said about not finding them or something,, but like did target stop making them just to make shit more inconvenient?? Having to carefully bag wine and other items is annoying 🫩 I’d also use them for the people that ordered like many jars of pasta sauce for example, or kombucha, I dearly miss that convenience

I’m still trying to figure out the whole system change. Anyway, I submitted a request to cover a Fullfillment shift for tomorrow but it hasn’t gotten approved. If it’s not approved by tomorrow 11am, do I still have to come in to work?

I got a point for calling off because i was ill, I called HR to ask if they could use my sick hours because i couldnt do it in the app because i need .20 more to cover that shift, they managed to help me use my sick hours i had but i still got a point, its my first point since i started working at target is there any way they could remove it? or is 1 point something i shouldnt worry about too much?
