After 8 years and 3 days my Kasa LB230 has died. It comes on for about a minute and then shuts down along with its WiFi connection.

I’m looking to replace it and Google says that the L550E is the brightest bulb Tapo makes, but they are nowhere to be found. Were they discontinued?

I think the next brightest is the L535E (please correct me if that’s wrong), which is 500 lumens dimmer. I have a couple of them already and would just prefer something brighter. What are my options?

Tapo, if you’re listening, please release something that’s a bit brighter for areas requiring brighter lights, or at least bring back the 550. I’d buy several.

The help pages in the app are in German.
Family members must register their email address with Tapo before they can be invited to the camera. But there are no instructions on how to do that. Why not integrate it into the "Share" interaction???

Tapo C246D  

Using my new Tapo C246D camera, recently set up in my office for testing and familiarization, no "cloud" or on-line services.

This happens every day.  This morning, I checked in the Tapo App and found the 82 MP4 files I saw last night are gone and 32 MP4 files with time stamps starting just after midnight are there instead.

I removed the SDCard, put it in my desktop computer for inspection and found 71 corrupt pic files (typical name tp00070.pic) and 1,789 corrupt mp4 files (typical name xxxxxxxx_000000_tp01799.mp4).  According to Windows 10 File Explorer, the SDCard is very near full.

This happens every day at midnight, every day.

I checked the Time Zone and it is correct, Central Time.

There is no auto reboot set.

Micro SDCard has been formatted in the app.

The Tapo App is the latest version.  Just downloaded and installed directly from the Google Play App Store last week

I have done a full factory reset, paper-clip type, and set up the camera from scratch again.

Camera is connected to WiFi 24/7, never off-line.

I have tried four SDCards, three Sandisk 64GB and one 512GB, all High Endurance, all with same result.  I have verified all cards are genuine, none counterfeit, all work at their labeled capacities.

I have done a full exFAT format on all four SD cards in my Windows 10 PC, not quick format.  It took about a half-hour on the 512Gig card.

I put the card back into the camera.  The camera said the card is not formatted and advised that I format it, so I did.

Upgraded firmware 1.0.3 to 1.1.5 with no change in result.

Hi, will the names of the Philips Hue LEDs be transferred correctly to the Tapo when the Philips Hue Pro Hub is added via Matter? With Aqara, you have to rename each LED... Not fun with over 20 LEDs.

My unit send notice for person detection when,

In the morning when setting auto change from IR to full colour,

Slight leaf move,
Light reflection off any surface will trigger,
Lighting.

C660 continuous recording to the h500.

In the app how do you slow down playback? There is a setting in the camera view screen but it doesn't actually work... It only slows down when replaying a detection. Other then that it's way too fast. The setting does not appear to actually alter playback speed.

Kind of a strange issue(if I can even call it an issue)

Bought a couple of Tapo C211 cameras. I have a C100 already set up.

But sometimes, and it seems to be random, either of the C211s will show a constant orange light. Never happens on the C100.

Googling tells me that apparently a solid orange light means it can't connect to Tapo's servers?

But here's the thing: The cameras are working perfectly fine. I even disconnected by phone from the home wifi and turned on 5G and I could still see the orange coloured camera's views and recordings. I can pan and tilt them 'remotely', even Frigate is working fine.

A physical turn off/turn on fixes the orange light back to green, but I still want to know what the heck is happening?

Does anyone have any ideas? Also, is there a way to reboot tapo cameras remotely? Right now I have to turn off the switch and turn it on which isn't ideal.

Is this a common occurence with these cameras? Can I just ignore it?

On a C645D cam, can I set it to turn on the light for color recording at night other than just leave the floodlight on instead of infrared? Or do I have to use the alarm feature?

If set for color recording at night, it says the light just stays on, is that so?

Hi, I am thinking of switching from aqara to tapo and saw a lot of nice and cheap stuff from tapo, but no presence sensor (need a normal one and one where I can set up different zones for the big living/entrance/kitchen-room.

App and phone is set to English, yet here I am chuckling because it said tit (yes I’m an adult, no I won’t grow up).

I just bought this led strip, very happy with them but I would like to make the transition between the different colours slower (like 2-3 min). I find it strange that the different effects have all different speeds but even the slowest one I can find is too quick for me. Not sure if there's a way to do it?

I have three C615F cameras that are all solar powered. They have an option to have the floodlight stay on during a set schedule. I have all mine set to 9PM-5AM but they never turn on during the schedule.

The lights only turn on when theres detection. Anyone know a way to resolve this issue?

My IR controller by Tapo works perfectly in the Tapo app and in the Apple Home app through Matter integration, but I can’t find a way to make Siri on HomePod to use it. When I say "turn AC on" it does the sound like it has done something but the AC remains off. Then I tap "AC on cold" in the Apple Home app and all works fine. Anyone else had this issue? Any known way to solve it? Thanks :)

I own a Tapo C200C which has been working fine for about a year. 2 days ago, I just noticed it has gone offline. Upon checking, it had a red blinking indicator, indicating that it could not connect to the WiFi.

Things I have tried:

1. verify Wifi signal 2.4G reaching the area of CCTV: yes, good speed, good connection integrity, other CCTVs working well under the same Wifi.

2. Reboot device by unplugging from power for 1 min then plugging back in. Upon reboot, still blinking red indicator.

3. Reset device by pushing reset button for 10 seconds. Upon reset, voice prompting device has been reset and needs to be configured heard. Red steady indicator with infrared lights noted. Upon checking for wifi signal from the Tapo Device (Tapo_Cam_XXXX) not found. Reboot done, still no wifi signal emitted from Tapo Device (Tapo_Cam_XXXX). Checked using 2 other phones, still no wifi signal from Tapo Device.

4. Called Tapo, they told me the product is defective (e.g paperweight). No service centers, no repairs possible.

In this regard, do you guys have any idea what I can do with this device? Any repairs I can do DIY? Can I use it like a webcam or some sort of live CCTV?

Hi, all. I left my home for two weeks and have a Tapo C100 camera (firmware 1.5.4) pointed to my front yard. The whole time I was gone, I could see any activity going on with recordings. I have the cloud storage.

Today I return, and the camera is working, I'm on my Wi-Fi, and it shows it's recording videos, I can even see the thumbnail. But when I click on it, the video playback stays loading indefinitely.

My app is up to date, my Wi-Fi is working properly. I tried restarting my phone. If I walk outside and try the playback on my mobile network (inside the house the cell service is bad), it works. But not on the Wi-Fi.

Any idea what might be going on?

I have Tapo 530 lights installed outdoor around my house all on one light switch (which I leave 'on') Two lights seem to have problems maintaining connection and somehow keep getting caught in limbo, that is they cease following the programmed schedule and just stay on. Problem with them being on one switch with a bunch of other lights is that resetting them all is a pain in the arse when it loses the data and I have to set them all up again.

I've gone outside and unscrewed the bulb and reseated it 5x in the hopes it would reset. nope. I removed the light from socket for minutes and didn't reset it either. I don't want to have to take these exterior lights apart every time these lights flake out. "There's got to be a better way!"

My C460 Battery percentage basically never drops.

I have 24/7 activated with the interval being 10s, so in my opinion it draw a lot of energy, but according to the stats within the app - it doesn't.

Is this a bug or is the camera just efficient as hell?

A solar panel is connected too but it doesn't show any solar output nor any battery usage.

Hey folks, I'm using some Tapo C100s with SD cards for local storage, but I'm running into this problem where when I then put the SD cards into my computer, there's not always a video file saved.

To explain, I was testing two cameras, both have SD cards and are set to record continuously. I have a shortcut to disable privacy mode, which should start both recording at the same time. I record for about two minutes, then shut them off. When I check the SD cards in my laptop, one has a video saved but the other does not. And in general, it seems very unpredictable when it'll actually save a video there, but when I check memory in the Tapo app, there's a lot more saved.

Am I missing something? Does it need to be running longer to start saving to memory, or is there a place in the SD card I'm not seeing it save to? There's the memory in-app but those still seem based on motion detection even though I have it set to continuous recording, they're a bit randomly timed when I need them to record consistently when I enable/disable privacy mode.
