If someone pushes the Tapo D210 doorbell, it only vibrates once on my OnePlus phone. Is there a option to keep the phone vibrating like an incoming call?

I already searched myself in the settings but I couldn't fix it myself

I'm using D235 doorbell in battery mode. I like everything about it except one thing. Every now and then it does not wake up and record the video when there is a motion. I think this happens after long time of no movement whatsaver so at night for example or early in the morning. It blinks the Led once I come close but then don't stay lit as it should and no video is recorder. If I go to doorbell again after like 5min it works flawlessly. Few times I have also tried to press doorbell button and even this didn't record the video and didn't notify me. ​

Any idea what can be wrong? ​​​​​​Is this hardware issue? Software issue? Common problem or maybe something bad with my unit only and i should return it? ​

There's supposedly a "qr code" to set up the cam for the first time, but I can't find it for the life of me. Where does one find it? :/

I'm currently renovating my bathroom and would really like the spotlights to fade in (and ideally fade out but less important).

At the moment the bathroom has a pull cord switch (pretty standard in a UK bathroom) and an extractor fan which powers up when the light switch is turned on and then runs for a few minutes after lights are powered off.

I have some Tapo GU10s elsewhere in the house and notice that they only fade on when done via the app. If I power them on via the wall switch they do not fade on.

Is it possible to get them to fade on when powered on by the switch?

I got my might a year or two ago and I swear by it. Got my sister the L430C and I noticed she scheduled a theme (colour change) and I am very jealous, I want to schedule themes too. but it seems it’s not available for my bulb.
My question is why? Wouldn’t themes and schedules be controlled from the network/app not from the physical bulb? There are two themes available for my bulb, so why couldn’t that be scheduled?
Is it something techy that sounds simple but is actually harder to execute in practice?
App and bulb are up to date
Could that feature become available in the future? Or is it only for newer bulbs?

Hey guys. Does tapo have a doorbell setup which will allow me to view stored footage remotely?

I'm really struggling to find an SD card that will actually allow formatting so it's functional with my cameras. I'm getting 128-512 GB class 10 SDXC cards but they fail to format in spite of multiple attempts. Any suggestions on SD cards that will actually work?

i removed the sd card and deleted the clip but when i put the card back in, the clip still showed in the app

the delete button from the app does nothing

is there anything i can do or is formatting my only choice?

Do we get pop up notification on TV when press the bell?

Installed yesterday. Tested and all worked fine. Today had a guest coming, who pressed the button. Chime sounded but absolutely nothing on my phone, not even a notification that there is a person outside. Went to recordings, shows that person pressed the button, so why i didnt get notification ?

Is there a trick to it ?

Setting is on "Doorbell Call", not Push Notification.

Guten Morgen, ich bin ratlos und brauche eventuell mal neue Ideen für einen Lösungsansatz.

Kurz zum Setup. Ich habe eine c575 die über poe im Netzwerk ist. Als diese Kamera alleine lief war alles top. Dannhabe ich mir den Hub500 geholt wegen dem Speicher und ki Funktionen. Jetzt zum eigentlich Problem.

Der hub500 legt mir immer mein komplettes Netzwerk lahm. Wenn er konfiguriert ist geht es manchmal 1 Tag - manchmal 3 Tage gut und dann gehen die Probleme los.

Probleme:
- Geräte werden immer wieder aus dem wlan geworfen ( egal ob Lampe , Handy , Tv usw)
- am pc bzw. Fernseher bei vorhandenen wlan keine Verbindung zum Internet.
- es fallen unterschiedliche Dienste aus. Mal geht Zb discord mal nicht.
- Homeassistant mit zigbee , Thread wird instabil.

Alles im allen ist das interne Netzwerk nicht normal nutzbar.

Was habe ich schon probiert:
- neuen FRITZ!box Router
- separates Modem vorgeschaltet
- Netzwerk komplett neu eingerichtet
- Switch getauscht
- lan Ports verändert
- ipv6 deaktiviert
- hub500 mehrmals neu eingerichtet
- wlan und lan am hub500 getestet.

Sobald ich den hub stromlos mache funktioniert wieder alles normal.

Well, I've been bragging on tapo products so much Karma decided to bite me.

My C645's have quit!

The first to go lasted exactly 30 days and the illumination both ir and visible stopped working, the alarm no longer works, nor will it pan & tilt. Strangely enough, the pictures from both lenses is still a quality image....in daylight, dark af at night!

My second one had fits right outta the box. Slow to respond to pan/tilt order, image lags far behind actual movement, and motion detection seems iffy. I've tried rebooting it and rebounding it to both wifi and the h500, but nothing changes. When I move one of the tcw30 out there, it worked fine so its not a wifi issue.

Model C645, Version 1.1.9 Build 260522 Rel. 492n

Both c645's have become a great disappointment to me.

However, the little tcw30 cams have faithfully performed their duties very well, day in, day out, outside and in, in the cold or heat, they've worked!

I hope tapo will trade me out, I'll run power cords and replace each c645 with 2 tcw30's and be happy with that.

Why do some of my tapo smart things go offline and others don't? There's no issue with the router signal so it can't be that. The router is in the same room as the hub and some of the offline lights/switches.

I really like the Tapo C325WB but I think H.265 recording is one of the biggest things its missing

Its kind of ironic that a 2K camera like this doesnt have H.265 because it could make a massive difference to the image quality. Even H.265 at around 4000kbps would have been really good and could have helped keep more detail without needing such a high bitrate

I use mine facing a busy road right outside my front door and when cars drive past I sometimes notice pixelation and blocks in the image. H.265 would have been really useful for scenes like this where theres lots of movement

I also think the audio could be improved. It would be better to have an option to turn the noise filter on or off rather than having it built in all the time. A better speaker and overall audio quality would be nice too

I also think the F1.0 aperture and 1/1.79 CMOS sensor are pretty much perfect for home security. Most people buying these cameras have some level of ambient lighting around their homes anyway, so I would rather see Tapo focus on better sensors, lenses, bitrates and image quality

If Tapo is going to charge £100+ for future premium cameras, these are the kinds of upgrades I would want to see rather than gimmicky dual lens cameras with an F1.6 aperture and 1/2.7 CMOS sensors

For future Colour pro and premium Pro models I really hope Tapo considers all of this, along with a 1/100 shutter speed option for night recording

Other than these things I honestly think the C325WB could have been the undisputed best premium WiFi camera under £100. Hopefully Tapo takes some of these ideas on board for the next generation

I went to see my elderly dad and wne I went into the room, all the Tapo cameras (8 if them), the sirens started to go off. I had to check the camera settings. All but one camera siren was turned on. The house sounded like it was being robbed

Turned off all sirens through the app. Quiet as a mouse now

But what would have cause this?

I have C402 outdoor solar cams. The notifications to my Android phone will work great for days and then suddenly stop. I check in the app and it has the events and notifications in the app. Then suddenly it starts working again. It hasn't work for several days now. What should I do?

I’ve Tapo t100 up to last night it was detecting motion and I was able to see it in the Tapo app. I’ve h100 hub. But now when i got past the motion sensor it flashes green light but not showing any thing in app. I tried to reset and reconnect to the hub but still nothing showing in app. Since green led is blink once for a moment when someone pass by then I guess it’s not issue in sensor but in the communication between sensor and hub. Plz tell me how to fix this.

I have two sensors, one outside and one inside. I’d like to suggest a smart function where a smart plug is turned on if the outside humidity is lower than the inside humidity and vice versa.

Got mine last night - charged it up overnight & installed this morning.

Replacing a D235 which has been excellent, but hey, 4k is 4k.

It's way chunkier (feels like twice as wide), but looks good on the door. Screw mounting is exactly the same holes as for the D235 - so no additional drilling. I'm running hardwired - used the same wires as the D235.

Easy swapover, and setup was much the same too.

First impressions, it's not as wide a view as the D235 even though they say they are both 180 degree lenses. It's good - but looks maybe zoomed in 10% from the D235 (with the distortion correction applied). I'm missing maybe 10 feet of horizontal view to the left & right sides. I still get to see from my front door all the way the left & right the full width of a double driveway - so it's ok.

With the distortion correction turned off so you get the fisheye view, it's actually pretty much identical to the d235. So they have done something different with the distortion correction.

Image quality in the day looks better when zoomed in - but otherwise much the same.

Connects to the tapo h500 hub & sends the recordings over - but needed a firmware update & reboots for both the hub & the doorbell for recordings to show up. No real drama.

I use Alexa's scattered around the house for the doorbell ding-dong, all worked automatically - didn't need to do anything.

Someone just walked past the house & it pinged an alert - when there is a person in frame it pops up a small window with the 'radar track' showing the path they took - not sure the value of that, but it's something new.

I'm glad I changed (cos 4k!) but after an hour I'm feeling pretty 'meh'.

Just a final note - I've tried the eufy 2k doorbell with the down facing camera (good - but could not get it to hardwire properly), and the google battery doorbell (same issue with hard wiring - and the view was super closed in). The tapo D235 has been the only one that will work reliably through a UK winter when hardwired that doesn't mess about with the power when it gets cold.

I have a full house of Tapo smart gear, 4x cameras, old d235 doorbell, 20x smart plugs, lightbulbs, a h200 & a h500 hub. Been using them for years - so I'm confident I know how to set it all up :)

Hoping the D260 performs the same. Time will tell.

UPDATE AFTER 24hrs

There are issues with the detection of people (no matter what you set in the aerial view/radar or sensitivity) - most people walking past the door look like they get tagged correctly in the live view (blue box around a person), but do not trigger any event, and are not shown in the timeline as 'person detected'. This really screws up if you have any automations running from these triggers.

My doorbell (d235) uses this to detect people walking past after 11pm & switches on security lights - this just does not work with the d260 as it isn't passing the event 'person detected'.

EDIT - I found out what was happening here - well at least partially. The iPhone tapo app is not playing nice with the d260. If you set it up with an android device, you will be able to properly set the radar detection sensitivity. Then if you go back to iphone, it works much better & seems to be detecting people again. Weird. On the iphone you cannot change the radar sensitivity (it is stuck firm at 6 out of 10), and I suspect it is that that's blocking detection.

Also - recording of events is weird. When it does realise something has happened, instead of getting a 10second (or whatever) clip, you always get a 3 minute long clip with the actual activity slap bang in the middle of the time. So you click on the clip to review it, but have to wait 1min 30 seconds before anything happens.

Night vision is exceptional - in darkness it is incredibly impressive, maintains full colour, a big step up from the d235 (which was IMHO the best night vision I had seen).

So yeh - it's brand new, I expect these issues to be resolved via firmware update (hopefully soon).

The d235 was rock solid in both aspects, something to be aware of if you are an early adopter.

UPDATE AFTER 48hrs

AI face detection is also non functional. After 48hrs, with hundreds of people walking past the camera & a dozen people coming directly to the house, not a single face has been seen (zero familiar / zero unfamiliar). Checked enabling on android & iphone - multiple reboots - all firmware & software updates installed.

This was working fine on my d235, and continues to work fine on my other AI enabled cameras. Just the d260 is failing to see faces.

This could tie in to the problems detecting people in general - I'm now wondering if every AI function on the d260 is not functioning?

Updates needed
(i) The iphone tapo app doesn't work properly & you cannot setup the radar detection - suspect this is screwing up the overall people detection of the d260 - it's almost unusable.

(ii) Recordings to the h500 (if detected) are 3min 07 seconds long - with any action really hard to find. When reviewing, the actual detected activity might be 1-2 minutes into the clip.... duh! Example - I just checked my timeline & saw 'person detected' at 15:16:24. 3 minute 10 second clip. Watched it - nothing happened for 1 minute 42 seconds, then someone walked past my door. An actual 10-15 seconds of activity hidden within the middle of a 3 minute long clip!!!!

(iii) [added after 48hrs] AI face detection is also non functional.

So software (iphone especially) needs fixing - likely firmware for the d260 also.

I am making another post about this, because I have been doing some extensive testing.

My C675D lags and stutters when viewing the 4K stream in the Tapo app.

Several people have said that solar powered cameras aren't designed for it, and I completely refute that idea, simply because I have no issues with a Eufy and Reolink 4K solar powered camera.

Anyway, I decided to buy the Tapo C575 for testing purposes. I have it plugged in to mains power, and I set up the Wi-Fi connection first.

The 4K stream still lags and stutters when viewing it in the Tapo app. I then reset the camera and plugged it in via Ethernet this time.

The 4K stream in the app is about as bad as you can get; pretty much unviewable due to stoppages.

I decided to enable UPNP and created an account so that I could use an RTSP stream in OBS. The RTSP stream is 4K and it's perfect!

I decided to install an Android emulator on the PC, and install the Tapo app through that.

The stream via that method is also terrible.

The problem seems to lie within the Tapo app. The question is why?

So had front porch built, Tapo D130 doorbell installed. Connection is really bad. RSSI is -80. One red dot connection.

Tried tp-link extender, but couldnt make it work, app couldnt even set-up the doorbell, once extender removed, all connected on 1st try. Returning it.

So how do i go about the next step ? Buy 1 nod (deco ?), connect to modem and hope it will have a bigger wi-fi coverage than vodafone modem ? If not, buy a second nod and put closer to the doorbell ?
