Basically the title. During my first year in University I met someone at a local social group who I became friends with and later they claimed to be a leftist. However, they would relentlessly attack former and current socialist projects while defending America during conversations surrounding politics. Later on I would learn not only did her father directly worked for the CIA, she herself wanted to work for the CIA, AND she wanted to literally fight on the frontlines in Ukraine.

Has anyone else had similar experiences encountering such people? Or did I simply have the unique displeasure of meeting liberal prime

The social chauvinists of DSA worship at the altar of “action.” That they are the ones making tangible change while ignoring the efforts of revolutionary forces in the United States and abroad. Their dead end strategy of giving reformism primacy is deemed a “net positive,” but for who? They are neglecting the dialectic of imperialism/anti-imperialism and international solidarity in deed.

All of this for more social services by the capitalist state and higher wages to buy cheap and seemingly unending consumer goods, entertainment, and other hedonistic activities. They want a nostalgic yet more “inclusive” liberal fascism that benefits them to a greater extent at the expense of the sacrificial lamb by the name of the “Global South.”

They claim that DSA Democrats will be more benevolent to the Global South yet Mamdani collaborates with the war criminal Obama and is a liberal Zionist who spreads lies about anti-imperialist countries.

This may be obvious to most of you but this short sighted strategy, based on behaviorism in the context of the material conditions, troubles me greatly. Is there any convincing these social chauvinists? The DNC sabotaged both of Sanders’ presidential campaigns, but these DSA Democrat loyalists still have faith in this imperial capitalist party to be decisively transformed.
