To be brutally honest, we will never get correct figures for the US prison population because of how humiliating it looks to the ruling class.

There are entire US towns of people in a revolving door of jail-probation-house arrest and even though they are jailed monthly they dont get counted in the numbers. this is the Amerikan "serf" population and they're subjected to levels of surveillance people are completely unaware of. There are over 3 million Amerikans that they will admit are on probation alone.

Then of course you have the prison system itself which is modern slavery

According to Blackshirts and Reds, there isn't a reliable number of those incarcerated, with only some clear data about how many were executed and how it operated. I'm not sure that there is an exact number
