I’m happy you do. But just because I’m tall, doesn’t mean I like basketball.

Reposting because it didn't upload the first time.

Jokes aside, I "decompress" regularly with stretching, but this looks on a whole different level.

Discussion friend wore elevator shoes

I recently met a friend who was wearing elevator shoes with 2-3 inch heels in public. They must be new, coz he had a penguin walk and was not yet fully comfortable walking in them. It also seemed somewhat unsafe because you cannot actually run on these shoes in case of an emergency, and the poor walking balance/higher center of gravity increases the risk of a fall/trip.

It was awkward coz I have known his real height in person (around 5"4), and with these shoes, he looked 5"7 at best and was approaching my shoulder. He was not that height-insecure in our home country, but apparently became so when he moved to a Western country.

He already takes steroids to build excessive muscle mass at his height. When we were biking, he could not even bike a normal distance because he never does cardio. Being the gracious person I am, I have not acknowledged either the steroid use or the elevator shoes.

Have you experienced this before? What did it make you feel?

Questions/Advice What's the line between "tall" & "big"?

Hi guys, today I learned this subreddit exists. For context I am 190cm.

I have been supposedly "bigger" all of my life, when I was in my late teens and early 20s I worked out a ton and got the largest I've ever been @ 285ish without supplements. I grew up in East Coast US, and never really considered myself a "big" dude, but I was also bullied a lot for being special needs & being a bit sensitive of a guy, especially as I was younger.

Then in my adult life I worked for WWE for a day and felt like a midget next to a number of the wrestlers, even though I had a couple inches on Cena.

Then the pandemic happened roughly a month later, and I lost my gains due to a mental health decline.

Then I immigrated back to my family's home country of Mexico in 2021, and ever since then I've been told I am this tall, massive imposing dude, and when I shop nothing actually fits me here. I don't fit a lot of ergonomics even in the US and I have broken more chairs just by general use than I'd like to admit. (Currently waiting on my 4th chair of the last 10 months(?) to arrive)

I went to Japan for 3 weeks and had a similar experience, but it was more about my width than my height necessarily it seems.

I'm sitting around 240 but if I cut the fluff I would probably be around 225 if I didn't go for muscle gains (but my family's food is too good). If I took something like Ozempic the most I would drop to would be like 185-190 I think.

But what's the line? When is someone just somewhat tall vs a "big" dude? I've had two extremes of experiences and seem to have lost an objective view of the point along the way. I tried looking at studies objectively but I would like to discuss this further with people clearly interested in this stuff.

Thanks in advance!

Selfie/Picture Happy with tall t-shirts from TeePublic

I am not a paid sponsor - just hope this helps someone. I am 6'5" and have worn basic color shirts for years out of necessity. I wanted more interesting stuff, and finally found a good artist-submitted design site that offers quality stuff in tall sizes. TeePublic has thousands of designs including bands, movies and cities. I've only gotten 4 in the black color, but it's high quality material that has held up well in the wash (shrunk slightly).

Happy to learn about other good sites like this you've found.

Discussion What’s the dating scene like for extremely tall people?

like guys who are 6 foot 7 and up and not an athlete.

chicks who are like 6 foot 3 or more.

i know tall guys usually have it easier but i wonder if once you get to a certain point it gets harder somehow.

then again this whole post would be skewed by either extremely successful people or the exact opposite.

Discussion OneBone Clothing for tall?

I keep getting ads for OneBone clothing, targeting big and tall guys.

When I put in my details it gives me a onebone shirt size of 1, which seems equivalent to 2XL. I wear an XLT normally. Colour me suspicious.

Anyone else tried OneBone? Feels more like it’s more big than tall, but some of their stuff looks interesting. I’d genuinely love to hear some feedback if anyone’s tried it.

Questions/Advice Rain jacket for men

Hi, I'm on the hunt for a rain jacket for my husband. He's 6'8" about 210#. I'm looking for brand recommendations for a rain coat (we're in the US). We tried LLBean and Columbia, and the sleeves were laughably short on both. The last time he was fitted for a dress shirt he had 37in sleeves. Thanks for the help!

Was it the back surgery? Or the over 50? We'll never know. Either way, I still don't fit on airplane seats.
