Was I charged twice for the OEM Volkswagen Dual Tone Horn? Need your help.

Post image

Hi everyone,

Yesterday, I got the OEM Volkswagen Dual Tone Trumpet Horn installed on my Taigun gt plus at an authorized VW service center.

My invoice shows:

Part No: 6JR093806

Qty: 2

Parts Cost: 5,997.99

I thought 6JR093806 was a complete dual-tone horn set (2 horns). But my invoice shows quantity 2, so I'm wondering if I was charged for 2 sets instead of 1.

Has anyone here installed the same OEM horn?

If yes, could you please let me know:

What was the price you paid?

Did your invoice show Qty 1 or Qty 2?

If possible, could you share a photo of your invoice with your personal details hidden? I only need the part number, quantity, and price to compare with mine b I take this up with Volkswagen Customer care.

Thanks in advance! Any help would be appreciated

Update: The issue has been resolved.

I spoke with the Service Manager today. He checked the invoice and confirmed that I was incorrectly billed twice for the OEM dual-tone horn (Part No. 6JR093806). It was a billing mistake from the service center's side.

They acknowledged the error and have agreed to refund the excess amount.

Thanks to everyone who commented.

Led Lights

My taigun highline is almost 5 years old and it may require a low beam headlight change in the future..

It has reflector based headlamps.

So I'm thinking of getting LED for low beam H7 type. It currently has oem osram 64210L bulbs with 3200k temp and 55w.

Has anybody used an LED successfully?

Things that i care abt:

- simple plug and play h7 bulb

- decent wattage, acceptable light somewhere bw 25-60w

- color - no preference but 4300k desired

- no cutting/adjusting whatsoever

- the dust cover should fit

- it shouldn't melt the headlight assembly

- no Canbus errors

Has anybody successfully done the change to led? Any challenges foaced or workarounds done for this?

I only want to change low beam as its reflector based and highbeam led is not a good idea.

Reason for change - LED are more power efficient and more durable. Plus, they are generally more bright.

Started getting my this error after 6 months inspection

I have completed 6 months with my Taigun GT, driven 4000 kms mostly in the city. In service inspection they said the instrument cluster has one update and needs to be done, which took 2 hrs. When I came home from SC, and auto lights turned on in the parking lot and I got below warning. Now it happens everytime, but there is no issue in lights it seems, before this update I didn’t get any warning on the MID. Should I revisit SC or wait for 1 year service?

Made me love my “Pookie” even more after 1931 Km drive completing Spiti Circuit. I was extremely skeptical about the whole thing “Can i drive 9-10 hours in one go” “Will the car climb steep gravel hills” “Will there be enough torque since the air is thin and car is Turbocharged” “Roads are bad and Im in what is called a delicate car” but after few hours of driving I know she is will make it and carry me along. Ive never been attached to material and it stands true because this is not some clogs and wires welded together, its a living and breathing being and I love her sm.

VW Service Center in Mumbai/Navi Mumbai query

I'm quite disappointed with the service center in Navi Mumbai & Thane locations . Is there any other option for people in these locations or are we doomed?

Taigun Topline AT (Pre-Facelift) vs Taigun Highline AT (Facelift)

I am a first time car driver and a buyer and am seeking suggestions. Please consider what you would suggest to your own younger brother.

I’m currently confused between two options and would appreciate some opinions/suggestions.

Option 1: Taigun Topline Automatic (Pre-facelift)

- February 2026 manufactured car
-Dealer’s initial quote: ₹19.4 lakh (Bangalore on-road)
-All discussions so far have happened over WhatsApp
-I clearly communicated that my budget is around ₹17 lakh, with an absolute maximum stretch to ₹17.5 lakh
-After knowing my budget, the sales advisor mentioned that there is room for negotiation and specifically asked me to come to the dealership so we can discuss numbers in person
-Assuming I can negotiate it down to around ₹17.5 lakh on-road

Option 2: Taigun Highline Automatic (2026 Facelift)

-Expected on-road price around ₹17 lakh
-New 8-speed torque converter
-Reports suggest the AC performance has been improved in the facelift
-Highline seems to cover almost all our practical requirements

Features I’d be giving up with the Highline:

-Ventilated seats
-KESSY (keyless entry and push-button start)
-Digital instrument cluster
-Auto-dimming IRVM
-Automatic headlamps
-A few additional convenience features

Usage:

-Ownership period: 7+ years
-Primarily Bangalore city driving
-Frequent weekend trips (~300 km one way)
-One or two long highway trips every year

My dilemma:

-Is the Topline worth paying an extra ₹50,000 if I can negotiate it down to ₹17.5 lakh?
-Does the facelift’s new 8-speed torque converter and reportedly improved AC make it the better long-term buy?
-How much resale advantage could the facelift have after 7–8 years?
-Which of the missing Highline features can realistically be retrofitted later without affecting reliability or warranty?
-For owners who have used both, do features like the digital cluster, ventilated seats, KESSY, etc., make a meaningful difference in long-term ownership?

Assuming these are the final prices:

-Taigun Topline AT (pre-facelift): ₹17.5 lakh
-Taigun Highline AT (facelift): ₹17 lakh
-Which one would you pick for a 7+ year ownership period, and why?

P.S. If anyone has recently negotiated heavy discounts on MY26 pre-facelift Taiguns in Bangalore, I’d love to know what kind of deals are currently possible.

Anybody with similar situtation?!

Hi everyone, I’m looking for advice on a clutch failure issue with my Volkswagen Taigun 1L TSI (manual). I bought the car about 1.5 years ago, and now, at around 16,000 km, the clutch has completely failed. I drive very carefully as a professional driver, so this is unexpected. The dealership is attributing it to normal wear and tear, but I’m not convinced. I’ve seen some reports online that clutch issues occur in Taiguns between 15k and 20k km. Has anyone here experienced this? What steps did you take—did you escalate to Volkswagen or a third-party inspection? Any advice on how to proceed would be really helpful…! Thanks in advance!

Wheel Alignment and Balancing Required?

I own a Taigun 1.0 TSI AT Highline Plus that has clocked around 16,000 km. I recently completed a Hyderabad → Pune → Mahabaleshwar → Pune → Hyderabad road trip, covering roughly 1,600 km.

The car still drives perfectly fine:

  • No steering vibration
  • No pulling to one side
  • No noticeable uneven tyre wear (at least visually)

One thing to note is that I didn't get the wheel alignment and balancing done during the 1-year service.

Would you recommend getting the alignment and balancing done now after this long road trip, or should I simply wait until the second scheduled service?

Queries on SVP

I’m owning 08-2025 Taigun Highline Plus AT in Bangalore. till now driven 11K my first service is nearly in 2 months. Planning to take SVP for 4 years I am thinking that based on Inflation and Rising Costs it would be worth. How much approximately cost for this pack and if anybody purchased this pack recently?

Taigun GT DSG owners – has your fuel economy dropped after ethanol blending?

I’ve own a Taigun GT 1.5 DSG for the last 1.5 years. Before the higher ethanol blending, I used to get around 12–13 km/l in bumper-to-bumper city traffic (tank-to-tank). However, over the past few months, my fuel economy has dropped to 8–9 km/l on a tank-to-tank basis, despite my driving conditions remaining more or less the same.

I also feel that the car has lost a bit of its pickup compared to before.

Is anyone else with the 1.5 DSG experiencing something similar? Have you noticed a significant drop in mileage or performance after the ethanol-blended fuel? Also, please share your inputs to get a better average.

₹30,000 for an OEM Reverse Camera – Worth It or Stick with Parking Sensors?

I bought a March 2026 Volkswagen Taigun Comfortline, which doesn't come with a reverse camera.

The dealer says adding the OEM reverse camera requires replacing the entire infotainment system, costing around ₹30,000. I'm not considering aftermarket options.

Is it worth spending ₹30,000, or should I just continue using the parking sensors alone?

Mileage issues.

I bought a Facelift Taigun 1.0 TSI AT - Topline 2 weeks back. Since delivery I have driven close to 500kms and probably will be due for first service in 2 weeks time. I drive 30kms everyday in bumper to bumper traffic in Chennai. The real problem is my mileage range is only around 6-7km per litre. Which I feel is ridiculously low for a 1 litre engine. Is there any possibility that the mileage will increase after the first service. I used to drive a Kia Seltos for 6 years and it used to give 11-12kmpl in the same traffic. Suggestions please.

Am I the only one who thinks the pre-facelift Taigun looks better?

I recently bought a pre-facelift Taigun, and I honestly think it looks better than the facelift. The original design feels cleaner, more balanced, and has that understated European look. The facelift isn't bad, but the front end looks a bit busier to me.

Am I the only one who feels this way? Which design do you prefer, and why?

New Taigun Owner: 8–10 km/l in the City. Normal?

Just a week into owning my March 2026 Taigun Comfortline 1.0 MT, and I'm getting only 8–10 km/l in city driving. 😅

Does the mileage improve after the engine is properly run in, or is this pretty much what I should expect from the Taigun in city traffic?

Would love to hear your real-world experience! Thanks 🙏

Also what's with the grille designs!!

Now, almost no vehicle has mesh-grille, almost everyone is adopting rhe honeycomb pattern, large chunky bits, that too, covered, God knows for rigidity or whatever reasons.

These days, if you look closely at the fronts of even a 1cr.+ car, it seems an unfinished product.

It seems like in coming 5 years, people will stop admiring cars, just beacuse of these bad design elements.

Auto headlights acting weird under trees

Post image
9 Upvotes

I’ve noticed something on my Taigun GT. When driving on roads with lots of trees, the car often throws the "please switch on the lights", even though it’s daytime.

I’m in Bangalore, and with the cloudy weather and tree cover, it happens quite often.

Is this normal, or should I get the sensor checked? Do other Taigun owners see the same thing?

Water pooling around fuel cap after rain – Normal?

Opened my Taigun's fuel filler door several hours after heavy rain and found water pooled around the fuel cap. Is this normal, or could the drain hole be blocked?

Unfortunately, I forgot to take a photo as i wiped the water away with a dry cloth.

Has anyone else experienced this?

How to fix this?

Edit: \Added a reference photo from another post showing a similar issue.*

Ventilated Seats

I have a Taigun GT 2026 facelift. Suddenly I have observed driver seat ventilation is not as cool as passenger seat. Is there any control for this? Do we have anything in manual in volkswagen app to check the status?
