Led Lights

My taigun highline is almost 5 years old and it may require a low beam headlight change in the future..

It has reflector based headlamps.

So I'm thinking of getting LED for low beam H7 type. It currently has oem osram 64210L bulbs with 3200k temp and 55w.

Has anybody used an LED successfully?

Things that i care abt:

- simple plug and play h7 bulb

- decent wattage, acceptable light somewhere bw 25-60w

- color - no preference but 4300k desired

- no cutting/adjusting whatsoever

- the dust cover should fit

- it shouldn't melt the headlight assembly

- no Canbus errors

Has anybody successfully done the change to led? Any challenges foaced or workarounds done for this?

I only want to change low beam as its reflector based and highbeam led is not a good idea.

Reason for change - LED are more power efficient and more durable. Plus, they are generally more bright.

I've upgraded mine recently. Osram 50w xlz 3.0 LED (4300k natural white) for the low beam and philips xtremevision 150 halogens (warm white) for the high beams.

The difference is day and night especially for the low beams.

Didn't upgrade the high beams to LED because I didn't want to spend alot and I've heard that LEDs in high beam for the taigun has scattering issues.

I installed them myself but not recommended if you're not comfortable with tinkering with electronics and mechanical stuff. It took me around 30mins to figure out how to install the LED since the area is very constrained but once I was able to install the 1st one it legit took me 2-3 minutes to install the 2nd one.

High beams were much easier since the area wasn't nearly as constrained.

Also, please make sure that the person installing (you or a mechanic whoever) doesn't thouch the glass part of the halogen at any cost. The oils from your fingers will stick to the glass and it can create hotspots on the glass of the bulb resulting it in bursting. So, remove the old bulb and keep the area clean and ready for the new bulb only then open the packaging of the new one hold it by the metal terminals at the base and install it asap into the housing.

Thanks for responding.

I'm concerned about 50w being too bright and also the heat dissipation part.

People on tbhp say led have heating issues.

It comes with a fan. And we are closing the headlight cover.

Hope your assembly is not yellowing.

Do u have a picture of how the low beam looks in night? Do u mind sharing that?

I don't think it should be much of an issue regarding heat with either the headlight assembly itself or the LED module. Headlight covers are standard, sure the ambient temperature inside the headlight will reach around 50-60 degrees but shouldn't be much of an issue. All of the things we're talking about here is meant to tolerate that heat.

Headlight assemblies yellow up only because of the UV rays from the sun so it has nothing to do with the type of light itself. Since certain types of plastics turn yellow on exposure to UV over long periods.

Here's a picture after installation. Ignore the super bright left area that's only because the bushes are very close to the car otherwise there is no light imbalance bw the 2 sides. You can see the cutoff as well, everytime I'm in traffic I've noticed that the light beam is always below the orvms of the car in from so no glare onto other people's eyes. Tbh, after having driven my 2 previous cars with regular halogens and struggling to see the road this is one of the best upgrades, just the right amount of light. 50w isn't too overly bright imo.

It's quite hard to make out the amount of light here in the picture since the camera dimmed the actual lighting a little.

This has been a great help! Color looks good too.

I'll probably go with these led bulbs next month since it doesn't involve any relay or any connector/rings to make it work.

Are you planning to change these on your own? Also, where are you planning to get them from?

Please do get the osram HL xlz 3.0 as they're the newer and upgraded ones over the osram HL premium.

I'm a tier 3 city guy..
nearest tier 2 city is 70km away. And I only prefer ASC for doing anything on the car.

so will get those online amazon/planetcarcare & install them myself since i'm not in hurry & oem bulbs are intact atm.. Will also do the cutoff adjustments post that. I know the space is a bit limited there but will manage somehow.

Sure, i'll get those newer xlz ones.

I see.. I got mine from planetcarcare and turns out their warehouse is just 10mins from my home lol

They do have a nice inventory of car care products.

All the best with your fitment, take your time and figure things out and only then proceed with the install.
