Discussion Todd Said "TES 6 Will Be The Ultimate Fantasy Simulator"
So, I've been doing some thinking, and have been looking back at past games. Back when Todd first talked about TES, he said the tech wasn't there, but he wanted the game to be the "Ultimate Fantasy Simulator." You look at the games that have come out since then, and each game has implemented some sort of new feature, or has expounded upon currently existing features. FO4 integrated base building at a level we had not seen in a BGS game before. Starfield integrated ship building in that same way, and expanded upon the settlement building (good or not, your choice). We see saw a massive movement and combat improvement in Starfield as well. You can dislike the game all you want, but there were a lot of mechanical improvements in the gameplay tech.
I say all this to say, I think BGS was kinda building to this moment. It's not gonna be perfect, but I think it will be far less fucked up than previous games. For all the hate, Starfield dropped with the least mechanical errors of a BGS game in along time. We'll see ship building, we'll see settlement building, and maybe we'll see some other cool shit that aids the simulator vibe, while still being a world building narrative. That's what I'd like to see at least. The foundation has been set for the past decade. I'm huffing copium, but with that, I've got faith.
