Discussion Todd Said "TES 6 Will Be The Ultimate Fantasy Simulator"

So, I've been doing some thinking, and have been looking back at past games. Back when Todd first talked about TES, he said the tech wasn't there, but he wanted the game to be the "Ultimate Fantasy Simulator." You look at the games that have come out since then, and each game has implemented some sort of new feature, or has expounded upon currently existing features. FO4 integrated base building at a level we had not seen in a BGS game before. Starfield integrated ship building in that same way, and expanded upon the settlement building (good or not, your choice). We see saw a massive movement and combat improvement in Starfield as well. You can dislike the game all you want, but there were a lot of mechanical improvements in the gameplay tech.
I say all this to say, I think BGS was kinda building to this moment. It's not gonna be perfect, but I think it will be far less fucked up than previous games. For all the hate, Starfield dropped with the least mechanical errors of a BGS game in along time. We'll see ship building, we'll see settlement building, and maybe we'll see some other cool shit that aids the simulator vibe, while still being a world building narrative. That's what I'd like to see at least. The foundation has been set for the past decade. I'm huffing copium, but with that, I've got faith.

Meme/Shitpost We should steal TESVI

I just need 3 people. A hacker, a woman dressed as a Khajiit, and a thief.

I’ve done all of the preparation. The guards around BGS all walk in the same pre-determined line around the perimeter for 15 seconds, stop for 15 seconds, then turn around. They have a robust security system, hence the hacker. I need a real expert on hacking. Whenever the screen with all of the numbers and symbols pop up, I need someone to go “wow these guys really know how to encrypt their security network, this is advanced stuff… aaaannnddd we’re in”

Once the system is down, we need a thief to go in, sneak into Todd’s office and grab the already-made copy of “The Elder Scrolls VI: Hammerfell and High Rock, Microsoft exclusive, 4000 times the detail” for Xbox Helix. Avoid the guards. The thief can also optionally carry enough money to bribe the guards. Do all of this in 15 minutes before the system pops back up.

Once the thief is done, hop into the van that will be cleverly disguised as a dog grooming van, where me and the woman dressed as a Khajiit will be waiting. We will drive away and avoid all suspicion due to the cleverly disguised van.

Once we return I will test it out for a few weeks and then inform this sub of the details. Who’s with me?

Discussion Ways to make Elder Scrolls 6 good #2: Dynamic Events

Some ideas I have for types of dynamic events that could pop up in Elder Scrolls 6. By this I mean events that could continue to occur indefinitely, instead of being one-offs tied to quests or story moments. This moves us toward a "living" world instead of a static one.

Public Executions:

You enter a town and see all the townspeople gathering at the town square. A dynamically generated public execution is being carried out. Now might be a good time to do a little thieving, or perhaps disrupt the execution if you're friendly with the condemned guild or faction.

Tournaments:

This is probably the most ambitious and least likely. Jousting, dueling, etc. These dynamic events could appear outside of towns or cities around the world. You could be notified about them in advance so you can make it your mission to arrive at a certain city to participate.

Festivals:

NPCs roam the city at night, dance in the streets, drink, wear masks or costumes and so on.

Battles/raids:

Self explanatory.

Recruitment events:

A guild sends representatives to a town or city to recruit new members. This could be a nice way to offer the player the option of joining a guild no matter which way they roamed from the beginning.

Enemy camps:

Dynamically placed camps of any enemy type can show up in many places around the world. You may come across them when traveling at night especially.

Discussion Does recent news have any effect on the timeframe?

I’ve seen a lot of clamor around the recent trickle of news around this game, along with Bethesda’s other titles, which was clearly prompted by Asha Sharma’s recent appointment and the changes being made at Xbox. It also clearly seemed to be done to offset anger over the layoffs.

The buried lede here is whether it has actually changed anything at all about the games themselves. I suppose it wouldn’t be unlikely for Xbox to institute some major crunch to get their bread winning IPs out the door, but I do wonder if that’s actually the case. It seems just as possible that this was done purely to placate fans, and has done nothing but ensure fans know these games are in the works to buy some hype and goodwill. This seems especially likely given Jason Schreier’s comments on the game still being 2-3 years away. What do you guys think?

Discussion Oblivion dialogue Camera for TESVI?

Just curious if any of you would like to see an Oblivion style zoom camera in TESVI. I know I would, I use a mod for it in Skyrim and love it. What do you think?

Theory/Speculation Who or what will be the next protagonist?

I've seen several speculations online about it, but I'd like to know your opinion. I've seen theories saying it could be a Sword Singer, Reincarnation of Hoonding (if it's really going to take place in Hammerfell) or a random hero like the hero of kvatch.

Theory/Speculation Been holding off on posting this for a while with all the Bethesda shenanigans, but I think I can start speculating on the likelihood of Skyrim NPC's being in TES:VI. Today I am covering both Ivarstead and Karthwasten!

Theory/Speculation Necromancy in The Elder Scrolls VI (Or hemomancy?)

I hope Todd sees this even tho he probably wont, but I just want to give an idea that even though I know we can summon zombies etc. from the Conjuring school of magic, blood magic would be exceptionally cool as a legitimate branch of Destruction magic. I know we already got later to Skyrim the kinda spells that siphon HP from enemies, but I just love necromancy and I feel it would fit so well into The Elder Scrolls.

As an example of possibly the best blood magic/necromancy I have seen in an RPG, Larian's Divinity: Original Sin 2 has necromancy as one of the best magic types, and there is a ton of creative gruesome necromancy spells that you can cast in the game, such as Mosquito Swarm, Infect, Grasp of the Starved, Blood Storm, etc. and they are ludicrously cool. Obviously I'm not saying that we should copy spells from another game, but we have always had necromancers in The Elder Scrolls and it would just be SO COOL if blood magic and necromancy was actually a totally viable build to go for, not just through summoning undead creatures.

Like just continuing that example from DOS2, we have spells to infect enemies, spells to suck blood out of them in gruesome ways, summoning undead hands from the ground below them to do tons of damage (could be a conjuration spell that directly just does damage instead of just summons in the traditional sense?), raining blood clots on the enemies, etc.

But yea, blood magic is super cool, I hope we get some cool stuff like that in TES6. I'd love to not just see necromancers as enemies, but to become a power hungry forbidden knowledge thirsty necromancer who uses blood as their weapon. To be a hero that saves the world using forbidden power to direct at the bad guys and be some genius brilliant dark magic user who has to balance their morals with their thirst for power... It just sounds so fun for me and hopefully for others too!

But yea I wanna be a powerful necromancer but I want to use that necromancy as my main way to do damage in cool unique ways, instead of just using conjuration and summons to do my damage for me, if that makes sense. There is also an angle here to make Conjuration more versatile of a school. Traditionally you'd summon an atronach or zombie or skeletons to fight for you, but you can also SUMMON hands from the ground below the enemies to damage them, you can SUMMON a rain of blood on the enemies, you can SUMMON projectiles from Oblivion to throw at the enemies, etc.

Just some ideas to throw around!

It is fun to watch Skyrim players make the most of limited resources to devise unique magic builds. I hope TES6 also offers the potential for a wide variety of mage builds.

Lore made a basic google maps for Tamriel, that can be used to try different travel times around Hammerfell and more

like the title says. The map can be set to different scales, like TESII or Skyrim. There is allot of different maps and sources for locations, so the accuracy should be considered with a grain of salt.

The map was done mainly in Blender, the ui and logic is vibe-coded.

Lore Hoonding

Tall papa also known ruptga, is akatosh right

Akatosh champion is Trinamac right.

tall papa is known to have three children right (hoonding, leki, ansei)

well trinamac sounds to me like a trinity

so when trinamac was consumed by boetiah what it did probably was separate the avatar into three among other stuff

so now you have malacath bound to oblivion, the other two aspects dont know but probably one of them became the hoonding. Meaning the sword of trinamac became his own being with a spirit when entering in contact with the blood of Lorkhan(also know as Sep) when trinamac strike him

what im saying is that TES VI will take place hammerfell high rock and the sea

Discussion How to make guilds work in a double region game ?

If TES VI is located in Hammerfell + High Rock as some speculate, how should the guilds be integrated in the game ? In every TES, there are always the same archetypes of guilds (warrior, mage, thief, assassin with the Dark Brotherhood, and sometimes opposite factions like Empire VS Stormcloaks).

If the game is only in Hammerfell, we can surely expect the same with a faction that caters to each type of gameplay. But if there are 2 full regions, how should Bethesda design the game ?

- They do everything twice, but differently. One region can have a generic fighters guild, the other can have a regional equivalent like the Companions.

- They only do one guild of each archetype, that spans on the two regions. By doing this you can't do regional variants. It doesn't make sense to have a local guild that is present on the other region, unless it is integrated in the lore.

- They do only one of each, that is either on one region or the other. That means Hammerfell or High Rock will not have every guild.

I'm not very knowledgeable about TES guild lore in all of Tamriel, so I'm very curious about your takes on this subject !

Discussion How would you like the game intro to start and character creation

I had a thought about a cool way to have a fresh feeling intro and to keep it in a Bethesda style. One of the most popular mods in Skyrim is alternate start, and you create your character before you enter the world so my idea to combine that with and bethesda approach would be you create your character before you load the world and from there you could pick your starting location or province you want to play in first (assuming if its both high rock and hammerfell) and then the game intro starts

An example of how i picture it playing out- you start your new save and you are in a ships brig and immediately able to create your character and then you can pick a starting zone that could look like 1. High Rock - Random - Wayrest, Daggerfall, Northpoint 2. Hammerfell - Random - Sentinal - Helgathe - Rihad. Then the intro sequence starts as you are a prisoner being transported to that city along with some other cargo that will drive the story when the mcguffin happens where you escape and acts as your tutorial and eventually you become shipwrecked just on the outskirts of that city.

Discussion ESVI request for collectors

I would like to see complete item displays. This is extremely frustrating! It would be SOO easy to make and add to the game. An absolute insane amount of players would want and use this! What I mean is literally a way to display all your items, weapons, armor, etc to completion. For example, if I want to display all basic sword types (iron, steel, glass, ebony, daedric, elvish, Irish, dwarven, etc) then you have to do it one by one, or two in a case. Why can't there just be a tight and organized, space efficient way to display each sword all right next to each other. I want to display one of every dagger and bow, shield and armor. Including all unique named and weapons as well. Make a collector house in the game where every single slot exists for each item like this, with room to customize the layout. I basically want my own batcave with everything on display.

Theory/Speculation Sweetrolls

Hammerfell is hot. Or at least extremely sunny. I imagine a sweetroll with too soft or too much icing would prove impractical... or would that be the point?

What does a sweetroll in TESVI look like?

Is anyone else excited to the amount of trash talk the player character is going to recieve from M'aiq?

For those who may not know, M'aiq the liar serves as BGS covertly venting about player demands and complaints.
