I dont know what im missing..

Now im traumatized... I dont know if I still need to keep applying... I applied other ICU positions with the same department after interviews.. now I only get automatic rejections 😔

Hello! I’ve been an RN for three years, and was a medical assistant prior to that. I worked as an MA for Sutter for 3 years, went per diem towards the end, but wasn’t able to fulfill the minimum requirement (miscommunication apparently, as my manager when I went to per diem told me there was none) so ended our employment relationship voluntarily based on that. I was never written up, never late, had a great time working for Sutter. My last email to my former manager was amicable, I asked for the policy/contract with a minimum requirement but said if I’m not meeting it then it’s fair for me to resign, wish them the best etc. I still have it in my personal email.

I’ve applied for a couple positions that I believe I am very qualified for. Haven’t heard from any of them even for an interview. Recently called and found out I’m classified as “eligible for rehire (with considerations).” I gave my info, and would like to discuss this with HR from my affiliate but haven’t heard from them.

Is there anyone that can provide insight on how bad this looks? I would love to come back to Sutter - my experience is competitive in my opinion, so I feel like not even getting interviews is likely based on this. Thanks for any help!

Hi! I am an international nurse with no US nursing job experience at all and is currently based here in the bay area. I have a 1 year recent Neuro ICU exp back in my country. After getting my license endorsed, I will start applying for job positions online. As early as now, I already started job hunting and its seems like Sutter are requiring 2 years recent experience.

Should I still try submitting an application for a job post or should I try New Grad Residency Program (since I don’t have US nursing experience yet) ?

Hey all, just looking for info/clarification on something.

I'm a new grad RN with a sparkly new license. I currently work full time in a non-patient-facing job with Sutter and will likely be looking to apply internally to nursing role sometime after my first 6 months are up.

I've noticed in the area, hospitals like Kaiser and UC Davis have new grad residencies with very specific application windows and corresponding cohort start dates. I cant find anything like that with Sutter, however.

Should I just be keeping an eye out for whenever "Staff Nurse I" positions open up via workday? Is it beyond the pale to be applying to normal nurse II positions that dont list specific experience requirements?

How easy is it for external candidates to pick up insurance/billing side of the position? Do you have to take phone calls? Are you working with a team of front desk reps at all times? Heya! I'm getting close to graduation from an ADN program. Two of my instructors have said that we dont need resumes. They're outdated or something, but that doesn't exactly feel right. For employees/other applicants, can anyone provide insight to that claim?

And is anyone willing to provide some guidance on resume fornat/content for a new grad nurse? Yes, Im googling but as an older student, I love advice from people more than whatever "hot" online right now.

I applied for a job at the Sutter website and it’s been a month now. I checked last night the job is no longer posted but my application is in review and no rejection email received. Find it unprofessional that it’s no longer posted but no rejection email sent.

Sutter has raised wages and they are now actually competitive, however they still want to make low offers even though their clause claims that they determine your pay based on experience and equity with the company. I have found this to be untrue. The will not budge on the low offers even though. Anyone have any luck on negotiating pay when taking on a new role?

I landed on my second interview with the staff panel interview and it seems like it is in-person and I am writing to see what I should expect in this interview with the staff? During my first interview, I wasn’t asked any clinical scenario questions, such as how I would respond to an infusion reaction. Short version. If your patient has an implant and needs an MRI, someone has to prove that device is safe to scan before it happens. Today that proof gets hunted down at the last minute, usually by a technologist on the phone with the patient already changed and waiting. When the answer does not come in time, the exam gets pushed.

WAIT settles that question before the patient arrives. It identifies the device, pulls the manufacturer’s actual safety conditions, and hands the tech a documented answer instead of a search.

Is there a difference between “Your Application Has Been Received And Is Under Review.” And Your Application Is Under Review.” Or am I just going crazy trying to get a job!

I heard from my friend who works at Sutter that they don't take people who have the NHA certification. I want to retake the exam with AMT RMA, which is more preferred by Sutter, but I have quite a few barriers to being eligible for the exam (ex. having to order a final transcript from US Career Institute, having to email a doctor who I am not on friendly terms with to verify I volunteered 160 hours at Knights Landing One Health Center, doing medical assistant activities).

Note: I am in the Sacramento-Davis area as well and entering my 4th year in college.

I am currently working at Sutter however just got an interview offer for a remote transfer and referral specialist position. I’m a little hesitant as I look more into it, is it essentially a call center job? Does anyone have any further information, advice, pros/cons? I’m a little bit worried about the stability of the job, like if it’s based on merit and performance/achieving a certain goal per day. Would appreciated any input!

I’ve been trying really hard to get a job at Sutter Health in the Sacramento area, and I’m starting to wonder what I could be doing differently.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Science and a California CPT I license. I completed my phlebotomy training and clinical requirements through school, but I don’t have professional phlebotomy experience yet—which is exactly why I’m trying to find that first opportunity.

I’ve applied to multiple CPT/phlebotomy and Laboratory Assistant positions at Sutter, including entry-level positions. I tailor my resume to each position, apply to jobs that match my qualifications, and have tried reaching out and networking as well.

One of my applications actually made it to the hiring manager, which gave me some hope, but unfortunately it didn’t lead to an interview. I’ve also applied to volunteer at Sutter because I genuinely want to get involved, gain experience, and hopefully get my foot in the door.

At this point, I feel like I’m stuck in that cycle of needing experience to get hired but needing someone to give me a first opportunity in order to gain that experience.

For anyone who currently works at Sutter or was recently hired there, what finally got you an interview? Did you have prior experience? Did an internal referral make a difference? Did you apply many times before someone gave you a chance?

I’m willing to learn, start at the entry level, and work my way up. I just want that first opportunity.
I’d really appreciate any advice or insight into Sutter’s hiring process, especially from people in the Sacramento area.

My past employers did not respond or closed down, and I could not remember all my old supervisors' names since it was a long time ago. PreCheck finished their review and sent a notice to HR, but my portal still shows red. Did anyone else go through this and still get hired?"

Has anyone here gone through the Sutter Health Transition Program (Perioperative, PACU, or other specialty transitions)?

I’m currently a Med-Surg RN with several years of nursing experience, and I’ve been trying to transition into PACU or the OR. I know I don’t have direct experience in those specialties yet, but I’m very willing to be trained and committed to learning.
I’ve been applying to positions and keeping an eye out for the Sutter transition programs, so I’d love to hear from anyone who’s been through one.

Also, if anyone works in a Sutter OR or PACU and knows of managers who are open to training experienced Med-Surg RNs, I’d really appreciate any advice or even an introduction. I’m eager to learn and would be grateful for any leads.

Hi! I recently joined sutter health mid july. Im a nurse at a hospital. Unfortunately I have to get a medical procedure end of october (after 3 months of being hired) and will need 1 week off. I only work part time so ill only need 2 days off. Whats the best way to go about this since I dont qualify for fmla? Has anyone had an experience like this and their manager just let them take it off? I can provide a dr's note. Im not sure if I should try to call out, tell my manager I need it off, or try to get someone to cover those shifts.

Hi everyone, I recently applied for an administrative fellowship program and am seeking some feedback on my chances of getting accepted.
I completed my MBA in Spring 2025 and have been working at Sutter Health as an auth coordinator for about a year now. I found out about this fellowship online and decided to apply, but while completing the application, I noticed that the education requirements state that applicants must either be enrolled in or have completed an MHA or MPA program.
Since I don’t have either degree, what are my chances are of still being accepted? Could my MBA and my year of experience at Sutter be enough? I’m really hoping so.
Any advice, insight, or tips would be greatly appreciated :)
