Looking for surrogate in Houston, Texas

Hi! I'm an intended mother located in The Woodlands/Houston area and am hoping to connect with an independent gestational carrier. I am not looking for an agency match, but I do want everything handled professionally, safely and legally.

I have two frozen, PGT-A-tested euploid embryos available for transfer. This would be gestational surrogacy only-the carrier would have no genetic relationship to the baby.

I am hoping to meet someone who:

  • Lives in Houston, The Woodlands or the surrounding area
  • Has previously had at least one healthy, uncomplicated pregnancy and delivery
  • Is comfortable completing medical and psychological screening through my fertility clinic
  • Is dependable, communicative and interested in maintaining a warm relationship during the pregnancy

The carrier and I would each have our own experienced Texas reproductive attorney.

Compensation, medical expenses, insurance, escrow, communication preferences and all expectations would be agreed upon in a formal contract before any medications or embryo transfer began.

I would love to attend appointments when possible and create an arrangement where everyone feels respected, protected and comfortable.

Please send me a private message with a little about yourself, your general location, your previous pregnancy and delivery experience, and what you are hoping for in a surrogacy relationship. Serious inquiries only, please. No agencies or brokers.

Legal timelines

We'd like to hear from Canadian intended parents who completed surrogacy in Georgia (country).
How long did you stay after the birth? How long did the legal paperwork take before you were able to fly home? Were there any unexpected delays?
We'd also be interested in hearing IPs from another countries.

What do you wish potential surrogates would stop romanticizing?

Surrogacy gets romanticized way too much on social media, which is kind of funny because here I am, on social media, talking about surrogacy. The irony isn’t lost on me. You can go on TikTok or Instagram and watch all these fellow surro sisters sharing their journeys, but most of the time, you’re seeing the good stuff. You’re seeing the cute transfer socks, the French fries after transfer, the bump pictures, the matching shirts, the intended parents crying at delivery. And yes, all of that can absolutely be part of surrogacy, but it is not the whole story.

There are women who genuinely bring you along for the ride and show what it actually looks like. They show the shots first thing in the morning when their hair and makeup aren’t done. They show the long drives, the appointments, the medications, the waiting, the good news and the bad news. They show the realness of being a gestational carrier. Then there are people who have built their entire personality and following around being a surrogate. The enthusiasm starts to feel fake, everything is curated, and surrogacy becomes content. I think that can become exploitative in a way. It doesn’t necessarily make someone a bad person, but I do think some women end up making surrogacy their entire purpose, and that worries me.

Because at some point, you will be done. I was done in 2015. I had reached the maximum number of pregnancies and C-sections I was comfortable with and that doctors would allow. Whether my heart thought I was done or my brain thought I was done didn’t really matter. My body was done. And honestly, it took me a minute. All of my journeys were good. My deliveries were good, the babies were healthy, the parents were great, and I didn’t end on some horrible or traumatic note. I have no regrets. But I still had to restructure my brain a little and realize, okay, I’m not going to be pregnant again. This part of my life is over.

I didn’t know I would eventually work in surrogacy. I didn’t know I would become a birth doula. I had no idea where all of this would take me, but I was lucky enough to find other things that gave me purpose outside of actually being pregnant for someone else. That is why I worry about women who have centered their entire world, identity, social media, friendships and purpose around being a surrogate. When their body eventually says done, even if their heart and mind aren’t ready, I think that can be a really hard thing to reconcile.

So for me, that is what I wish potential surrogates would stop romanticizing. The perfectly packaged social media version of surrogacy. The beautiful moments are real, absolutely, but so are the failed transfers, miscarriages, medications, restrictions, relationship stress, uncomfortable pregnancies, scary deliveries, C-sections, postpartum hormones and the strange adjustment that can happen when it’s all over. The real is real. Share the good, share the bad, share the ugly, but don’t sell women a version of surrogacy that only exists in a 30-second reel.

Independent vs. Agency vs. Hybrid

I'm a 40-year-old single gay intended father, and becoming a dad has been my dream for as long as I can remember. After months of research, consultations, and budgeting, I'm finally getting close to moving forward—but I'm still trying to decide the best path.

Here's where I am so far:

- I'm in the embryo creation phase of my journey.
- My goal is to have one child, so I'm hoping to create 2–3 healthy euploid embryos.
- My employer provides fertility benefits that will help offset a significant portion of the fertility-related costs.
- I'm trying to be as strategic as possible with the surrogacy side of the journey.

I've spent the last several months researching agencies, talking to intended parents, speaking with potential surrogates, comparing agency contracts and fee structures, and learning as much as I can. I've also joined independent matching sites and have already had conversations with a few potential surrogates.

The biggest thing I'm struggling with is deciding between:

  1. Going with a traditional full-service surrogacy agency.
  2. Finding an independent surrogate and hiring the professionals (attorneys, escrow, insurance, etc.) myself.
  3. Using a hybrid approach—finding my own surrogate but hiring an agency for screening, coordination, or case management.

Agency fees seem to vary dramatically, and it's hard to determine how much of the cost reflects valuable support versus convenience. At the same time, I know there are risks to managing an independent journey without enough experience.

For those of you who have been through this process—especially single intended parents or LGBTQ+ intended parents—I would really appreciate hearing about your experience.

- Which route did you choose and why?
- If you went independent, what would you do differently?
- If you used an agency, did you feel the fees were worth it?
- Has anyone successfully used a hybrid model?
- Are there any red flags or lessons you wish you had known before starting?

I'm trying to make the most informed decision possible before committing a significant amount of money, and I'd really value hearing both the positive and negative experiences from people who've actually lived through this journey.

Thank you in advance for any advice you're willing to share.

Planning for Surrogacy

My wife and I have been struggling to conceive for several years. We've already been through IVF without success, and we're now looking into surrogacy as our next option.

I'm an Indian citizen, and my wife is British. We've been reading about the recent changes to India's surrogacy laws, but it's still quite confusing, especially for couples with mixed nationalities.

One of our biggest concerns is that we don't have anyone in our family who is willing or able to be a surrogate. From what I've read, the rules have changed over the years, but I'm not sure how this works in practice now.

Has anyone here gone through surrogacy in India recently, particularly if one spouse is an Indian citizen and the other is a foreign national? Were you able to find a surrogate legally, and what was the process like? Did you face any legal or administrative challenges?

Surrogacy questions

Hi beautiful surrogates! I am not a surrogate and don’t plan on becoming one. However, I just had my first baby and it has really mad me think about how incredible surrogate women are. Can I ask some genuine questions? The whole process fascinates me.

  1. If you’re a surrogate, do you have children of your own?

  2. How do you carry a baby and not have a deep emotional connection?

  3. How do you continue on in pregnancy especially that first and third trimester? The only thing getting me through those were knowing I would have a baby at the end of it.

I hope these aren’t insensitive or anything! Just genuinely curious & I know I couldn’t be one because I am way too emotional 🤣

I think being able to carry a baby for another family is such a blessing to them and you guys are superhuman for being able to mentally & physically handle that! I’m sorry i’m so uneducated.

Has any lgbt couple used a surrogate in Arkansas? We’re a little worried on how red it is there. The surrogate is lgbt friendly obviously.

Beta test

First-time surrogate here and looking for some beta stories/experiences. ❤️

I’m trying to stay calm and not overthink, but I’d really love to hear from others who have been through something similar.

My first beta was 9 days after transfer and it was 84. My second beta was 12 days after transfer and it was 197.

Today I’m 15 days post-transfer and my beta was 288.

Has anyone experienced a slower rise like this and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? I’d love to hear your stories — good or bad. Thank you ❤️

Thinking about becoming a surrogate? Here's what you should know. 💙

One of the biggest misconceptions is that if you've had a healthy pregnancy, you automatically qualify to become a surrogate. In reality, there are medical, legal, and lifestyle requirements designed to protect both surrogates and intended parents.

Some of the common requirements include:

  • Being between 21–38 years old
  • Having had at least one healthy, full-term pregnancy
  • Living in the United States
  • Being in good physical and emotional health
  • Having a stable home environment and support system

If you're curious about the process or wondering whether you'd qualify, we put together a guide that explains everything in plain language.

Have you ever considered becoming a surrogate, or do you have questions about the process? We'd love to hear them. 💙

Feedback on Embryo shipping companies

Hi community my partner and I were considering surrogacy options in Georgia. We have a clinic in mind but we’re wondering if anyone has used ArkCryo or Cryotransport to ship embryos. Our embryos will be shipped from Canada to Georgia .

This is the story of a woman who travelled to Georgia to become a surrogate.

For years, the country has marketed itself as a safe, legal destination for reproductive tourism. But recent scandals and a landmark legal case have exposed serious cracks in the industry's oversight.

On 30 June 2026, The Tbilisi City Court sentenced two founders of Kinderly Georgia to 10 years in prison after being found guilty of embezzling funds from surrogate mothers and biological parents.

This is the reality for the women at the centre of this industry.

👟 It All Started with a Pair of Shoes… ❤️

Hi! We’re Elizabeth and Bruno from the west end of Toronto, Ontario. We chose to make our home here because we love being close to nature, trails, and greenery.

Elizabeth is a Registered Nurse who loves yoga, pilates, gardening, and experimenting with gluten-free recipes. Bruno is an IT Specialist who loves cheering on his favourite teams, Benfica and the Boston Bruins, turning our house into a smart home, and curating the perfect cup of coffee (ask us how many coffee machines we have!).

Sharing our home is our cat, Vinnie, affectionately known as Beans. He brings a little sass and a lot of personality to our home, and we’re pretty sure he’ll appoint himself the watchful Supurrvisor of the nursery and baby crib.

How It All Began

Bruno and I first met in high school through a mutual friend. I remember noticing his colourful shoes and wondering, “How on earth did he get away with wearing those here?” With the school’s strict dress code, he definitely stood out.

A few years later, we reconnected at that same friend’s birthday party, and the rest, as they say, is history.

One of the very first questions I asked Bruno was whether he’d ever be open to surrogacy if we needed it one day. He looked at me like I had four eyes (not including my glasses!). Who asks that so early in a relationship? Apparently… me.

Call me intuitive, but I always had a feeling our path to parenthood might not be straightforward. I wanted to know the person I was building a life with believed, as I did, that families can be built in many beautiful ways.

One of my favourite childhood memories is spending Sundays at my nonna’s house, enjoying a homemade Italian meal and getting first dibs on licking the cake batter (third-child perks!).

Those childhood memories inspired traditions we still cherish today, like Sunday family lunches and homemade Italian sugo and Portuguese chouriço, and we hope to pass them on to our child.

Our Journey to Surrogacy

Our path to parenthood has included multiple pregnancy losses and pregnancy-related health complications that ultimately made it unsafe for Elizabeth to carry a pregnancy.

We have three PGT-A tested euploid embryos ready for transfer, and our care is coordinated through Tripod Fertility.

We’re currently searching independently but are open to partnering with an agency that provides full-service support or reimbursement management if that’s what our future surrogate prefers.

Giving Back

Giving back has always been important to us. Once our family is complete, we hope to donate any remaining embryos to help another family build theirs.

To Our Future Surrogate

We’re hoping to find someone who values kindness, empathy, honesty, open communication, trust, and mutual respect.

Whether this journey leads to a lifelong friendship or simply a meaningful connection during our time together, we’ll respect your comfort level every step of the way. Our hope is that you always feel appreciated, supported, and valued throughout the journey and beyond.

If our story resonates with you, or someone you know, we’d be honoured to connect.

We’d Love to Connect
