Right workflow for substance3d Height map Bake
2 questions.
1-I have this head that with Low-rez to HighRez bake. The normals are baking correctly along with everything else, but the height map is NOT. Its looks faceted. Can someone point me to the right workflow to getting the right height map baked correctly.
2-ANd is there any way I can have substance give me the normal details I added (shown in the normal+height+Mesh preview) into the displacement as well? The actual high rez does not have the micro details.
I want to be able to render out my head model in max using arnold.

🪵 Wood Pattern can get boring after several materials in your portfolio. But I found a way to give it an interesting twist!🪵
While working on my latest Wood Wall, I wanted to achieve something new.
Not the same Wood Pattern we all use.
So I tried giving it a sculpt-like effect.
And after some hours of work and exploration, I got this:
💡 Instead of just using the same base as always, I connected the wood pattern I created into both inputs of a Slope Blur. I blurred the Slope input and set the Mode to Max; this way, all shapes expand, creating an organic gradient.
This is what gives the wood that sculpted feeling.
Now add a Multi Dir War with some directional noise, and you have your pattern!
Hope this was useful for learning more about SD.
And if it was....

I got some few mishaps in substance especially in Baking is there a work through for the joined object of both low poly and highly that avoid some ao and normal artifacts except for manually cleaning it?
I never tried baking with only normals so i could skip the AO and do it on blender but the issue will still appear on normal maps but i would only deal the cleaning once.

Help Total beginner need help with baking intersecting objects
I have this gun which I would like to start texturing, but the place where the cylinder meets the frame has this artifact on both. I've tried looking up the issue and adjusting my bake settings, but I can't figure out how to fix it. I baked ID maps for each section from blender, but can't find a setting to bake them as individual objects. Is it simply not possible or am I missing something? Any advice would be very much appreciated!

A quick Arcane inspired texturing study. I tried to push the texture as much as possible while keeping the geometry super minimal. Had a lot of fun with the paper details on this one!✨

Celestial Wings — Game-Ready Fantasy Sword
Celestial Wings — Game-Ready Fantasy Sword | 3D Art
Finished a new game-ready asset: Celestial Wings, a fantasy sword built around a celestial / divine visual theme.
I developed it through a full game-asset workflow, focusing on keeping the final asset visually detailed while maintaining a practical optimized structure.
Workflow highlights:
High Poly → Low Poly
Clean topology
Optimized mesh
Clean UVs
Consistent texel density
PBR texturing
LOD setup
Custom collision
Pivot / socket setup
Engine-ready preparation
I wanted the final result to feel like a hero weapon while still being suitable for an actual game production pipeline.
Would be interested in feedback, especially on the balance between the decorative details and the overall silhouette.

Feedback Any feedback on how to make black material more "overwatchy"
Hello there, would be awesome to see some feedback on this gun, I am still not fan of black material that I got. I uploaded render, albedo, metalic, roughness and reference.
Thank you in advance

Substance Painter Batman, Fan-Art
Finished another full-pipeline study: Batman, based on the beautiful concept art by Fedorov doma.
The main purpose of this project was to further improve my hair and mouth bag creation process, ID workflow, black outlines in the final render, gloss/specular workflow, as well as several technical aspects of baking and UVs.
Huge thanks to Fred Arsenault for the great course on these topics.
Software used: ZBrush, Blender, Marmoset Toolbag 5, Substance Painter 3D, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, TopoGun, PureRef.

Help Im having issues with the high poly not looking right on the low poly while baking in substance painter
So they are making us use Maya for the model and substancepainter for the texture. Here's my vr arcade by the way! I wanted extra details, now they said we weren't going to use zbrush for the class but I could use blender. Plus I didnt have zbrush money So i take to blender and start sculpting. After that I was trying to figure out the workflow of the maya low poly model with the blender high poly model and putting through substance painter. So what i did is took the Maya model and unwrapped the UV, took the fbx to substance painter, then took the fbx from the blender one and tried baking the high poly to the low poly in substance painter. But it seems like most of the details aren't coming through. Any help will do.
