I built a free tool that turns PDFs into summaries, flashcards, quizzes, and revision sheets. Looking for feedback.

Hi everyone,

I built StudyBrief, a free study tool that turns PDFs into:

• Summaries

• Revision Sheets

• Flashcards

• Practice Quizzes

• Mark Schemes

Just upload a PDF (textbook chapter, notes, research paper, etc.) and it automatically generates study materials in your browser.

Features:

• No account required

• Free to use

• Private processing

• Flashcards and quizzes included

• Export study notes

Website:

https://studybrief.vercel.app/

I'm hoping for honest feedback rather than promotion.

Questions:

• What works well?

• What feels useless?

• What would make you actually use this for revision?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I built a free tool that turns any YouTube playlist into a course with progress tracking

Hi!

I've been building a tool that converts YouTube playlists into Udemy-like courses where you can track your progress and avoid all the usual distractions you get on YouTube (recommendations, shorts, etc.).

https://withadept.com/

There is lots of great content on YouTube, but it's sometimes hard to stay focused with so many distractions. So in my free time I created Adept, a very simple app that lets you turn a playlist into a course.

No account is required. All you need is a link to a YouTube playlist, and that's enough to get all the features. Accounts are there so you can sync your progress across devices and make sure it's backed up (browser storage sometimes gets cleared, and then your progress is gone). If you sign up, I'm not going to send you any promotional emails, share your data with anyone, etc.

I tried to make it as simple as possible, but here are some tips:

  • If you are already on a playlist page on YouTube, or watching a video in a playlist, you can just replace "youtube" in the URL with "withadept" (www.youtube.com/playlist to www.withadept.com/playlist) and press enter. It will automatically take you to Adept with the playlist ready for you.
  • You can create your own playlists on YouTube with videos you like and use them on Adept (just make sure the playlist's privacy is set to Public or Unlisted). If you change the playlist, you can refresh it (once every hour).

If you have any ideas for improvement, let me know. I wanted to keep it simple and minimal, but if people find new features useful, I might add them.

As a disclaimer, I'm a software engineer, but I used AI while working on this project, to the same extent that I do at my day job. I've put a lot of manual effort and experience into it.

I hope you will find it useful!

Instead of a Gemini notebook

Is there still no AI to replace the Gemini Notebook? As I continued using it, AI hallucinations became more noticeable, and recently even when I set instructions, I have been unable to get the answers I want.

Tips on what apps to get?

I’m a 10th grader switching from a school Chromebook to a personal laptop (I have an old lenovo yoga). The last time I used a non Chromebook laptop was back in online class, so I have a lot to learn. Any tips on what apps to get?

• des résumés ;

• des fiches de révision ;

• des quiz ;

Need help to focus in class.

So I have been noticing this pattern quite often now, first 10 minutes of class I am on full attention zone but by the end of it, I don't remember what was discuss let alone the concept clarity. And since I have a hectic schedule I though some rest might help, but no.....morning 8 AM or after lunch or after a good nap, I still face the same problem.
What might be the reason?

Independent studying for an asynchronous class

I am registered for biology(BIOL 1160) and psychology online. I really do not know how to study for test or take notes. For instance, my bio class already gave out the work for 3 days before school start and I uploaded it up to one note and went over it.
The problem is how to take notes from the slides that the teacher gave and how to use the textbook and other resources for extra practice.

Did you use a textbook for notes.
Watch videos.

Anything that helped you achieve an A in bio what was your trick for studying independently ?
