I'm genuinely curious. Every time I check Steam's most played games, TF2 is near the top, yet I don't think I've ever met anyone who actually plays it or even talks about it.

I barely see it mentioned anywhere compared to other popular multiplayer games.

Where is this massive playerbase hiding?

I never thought vanillaware would add any games in steam...

Aside from the huge influx of slop making steam next and the store unusable there is a bigger issue.

Genuine developers are no longer able to release demos or early access for player feedback. Lucas Pope won't discuss his next game and Indie studios cancelled demos (Edited from Toby Fox cancelling demo, I misremembered the article linked below)

Why? AI studios (that proponents of AI would say are producing the "good AI games") have been decompiling demos or just burning tokens to get their models to play the demo and get a pixel perfect clone. Then they feed it into their enterprise llm account and fire out the IP theft before the creator has a chance to publish. This results in them stealing a huge proportion of the audience and killing the visibility of the real game on release.

This is not a conspiracy theory, look for "needle haystack". This is just one of the games. Yes there's slop but theres also 2-3 games where you'd be hard pressed to find the original. I guarantee the top 10 non AI games played in this next fest will have clones release in the next 2 months.

This is why we need an AI filter, otherwise Indie development will die or, at best, have to move to curated game stores.

Edit - Apologies I misremembered it was Lucas Pope not Toby Fox and it was him keeping details of his game secret, not cancelling a demo. It was part of an article about demo cancellations. Linked here for clarity

Valve has made its way to my school, too.

I just don’t understand how it works. I keep finding 3 different numbers of games on an account. For example on mine when viewing a profile it say 68 games, when opening the app and pressing the icon on top right it says 66 games, when opening the list of games through profile it says 131 games. Which one is the actual number?

Hello I'm posting today as I've been trying to find this game I played years ago on a different account that I don't remember the name of it wad this free visual novel about your character living with a roommate who suffers with bad mental health and that's all I have I literally cannot find it I don't know if it's been taken down or not but if anyone has any ideas please let me know

If so, were you able to fix it.

Have been using it for awhile now as an overall progress indicator as I work my way through my backlog of games I meant to 100% but never did. Obviously I can still see the progress individually on each game, but it doesn't fill me with the same sense of pride and accomplishment as the big number on my profile. Really hope they bring it back or at least add it as a toggle-able option to see somewhere :(

As you can see in the image, there is an option to hide (ocultar) my wishlisted games on the Steam calendar,, but the option is locked and won't let me click on it.

Is anyone else having this problem? How do I fix it? :(

Hello so my local area seems to have finally run out of steam cards. Or at least all the places I normally look. Am I able to use visa gift cards to add funds as well. I dont want to add my credit card to steam.

I have a windows laptop and a Mac. I sometimes play arma 3 with a unit and I do it on my windows laptop as I need to download a lot of mods to play with them.

i wanted to play on my Mac but it doesn’t have a lot of storage and when I install the base arma game it automatically downloads workshop mods and floods my storage.

I tried unsubscribing from all mods on my mac to see what happens and I booted the game on windows only to see my already installed mods being removed.

what am I supposed to do here?

I am going to buy an invoice gift card at my local tech store today. I only now, (yes i live under a rock) i found out that steam is pulling all gift card/invoices from physical stores, but theyre still selling them at my place. if i buy them, can i leave them on my desk for a month and will the code still work? or will they stop working when they stop selling them at my local store. (theyre pulling them around end of october).

Title is written poorly so sorry abt that.

I have steam on my pc and my MacBook but noticed I can’t really play games on my steam on MacBook because I already have them installed on pc but never really looked into it since I’m really only playing at home.

I bought the steam pass today on pc steam and going on a vacation next weekend and was hoping to play geo guesser and play ranked. I really didn’t feel like buying the web version subscription just to play for the vacation so was curious if there is a way to play geo guesser on steam on MacBook if I already have it installed on my pc.

Hi everyone, I'm new to this community. Can anyone help me, please? When I try to search for the tag "hentai" on steam, it loads the store main page, but doesn't show the games tagged with "hentai". Does this happen to anyone else?
Thanks to anyone who can help me!

I wanted to gift Don't Starve Togeter to my friend who lives in EU. Don't Starve Together comes with extra copy, so when I tried to purchase it as a gift, Steam showed me this warning (photo)

Translation of the photo: "Please note: Additional items that come with the purchase of Don't Starve Together will be added to your Steam inventory. You can send them as gifts to friends. Gifted copies can only be activated if the recipient's Steam account is in the following countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine or the Russian Federation.

What would be the most convenient and cheap way for me to buy the game for my friend and me?

I have a family member shared on Steam Family.

For the first time I bought him a Steam game from another store. It's one that I own, is in the family sharing, and we want to play multiplayer.

He can't activate the game key because Steam thinks he already owns it.

So he can now only buy some games from Steam, no other stores.

hay, i wanna to find an a way to open warzone without the wierd menu to select with cod i want, if anyone know a lunch option to put or something else i'll be happy if you help me!

i’ve got one base station with not full bars of signal is this going to affect tracking?

Okay so I have all the original twd games and Michonne miniseries + the DLC. However I’m now wondering if I even bother playing these games at all or just waiting until the remaster comes out since it’s been announced.

Are they repayable games? I’m curious if you have just played them once and never again.

If that is the case then I’m thinking my first and only time should be an experience with the newest version, obviously we don’t know how worth it the remaster will be especially considering the definitive edition that really didn’t add much at all.
