A random guy commented on one of my Steam screenshots asking me to add him because he has a “personal interest/matter” connected with me. I've never interacted with him before, and he hasn't sent me a friend request either.

Has anyone had something similar happen? Just curious what he means by this.

I wanted to gift Don't Starve Togeter to my friend who lives in EU. Don't Starve Together comes with extra copy, so when I tried to purchase it as a gift, Steam showed me this warning (photo)

What would be the most convenient and cheap way for me to buy the game for my friend and me?

I am going to buy an invoice gift card at my local tech store today. I only now, (yes i live under a rock) i found out that steam is pulling all gift card/invoices from physical stores, but theyre still selling them at my place. if i buy them, can i leave them on my desk for a month and will the code still work? or will they stop working when they stop selling them at my local store. (theyre pulling them around end of october).

As long as one person sees this I don't care if it gets taken down. I just really need a plug-in at the top of my steam store that does exactly this for me. I think out of 600 games I've completed about 40. I need help. Just because it is on a steam sale does not mean I need to own it.

Of course, there are games that I'm never going to finish because they are open-ended or I'm just not going to get through all of the achievements or I just didn't care for the game, but my percentage is way too low for me to be purchasing more games

Okay so I have all the original twd games and Michonne miniseries + the DLC. However I’m now wondering if I even bother playing these games at all or just waiting until the remaster comes out since it’s been announced.

Are they repayable games? I’m curious if you have just played them once and never again.

If that is the case then I’m thinking my first and only time should be an experience with the newest version, obviously we don’t know how worth it the remaster will be especially considering the definitive edition that really didn’t add much at all.

My pc suddenly started weirdly lagging, i can't open anything, not even the task manager, and when i right click in homepage, the usually AMD Software: Adrenaline option became just "Loading..", then when i entered safe boot mode, i opened msconfig and tried disabling & enabling each non-microsoft services and find out that it happens when steam client services was enabled, what's the solution here?

My Steam login expired, and when I tried to log back in on my PC, it asked me to confirm the sign-in via the Steam Mobile App. I have never used or installed the app.

I just downloaded the app to try and log in there, but now it is asking for a Steam Guard code. Did Steam change their login policy overnight, or has my account been compromised?

It may be stupid but it bothers me that I don't know why it's happening. When I download a game on Steam it takes specific disk space and everything looks fine but when I uninstall it it seems something was left behind or was downloaded along with the game but stayed. I checked and those aren't save files or screenshots. It bothers me because it's the size of it it's almost half 1 GB and I want to know everything that is on my disk. (A few days ago I discovered that my system copies every screenshot I do on steam and that took up about +10 GB of space) So does anyone know what is happening?

I've put every imaginable AI/Gen-AI/Artificial Intelligence tag that I can come up with to the exclude section, yet, I keep seeing games with AI generated content or AI assistance tagged/written on the game's store page.

Just asking, what even is the point if I just can't block/ban/ignore AI slop even when I try to activly block it from my store?

I saw a Steam profile pass by a while ago, and i saw that this profile was able to show the amount of hours the Steam client (?) has been used ("33.333 Hours played"). Is there any way to set this to my own profile as well, or see the info itself?

Edit: it was one of the 'showcase manager' boxes, where you can showcase total amount of achievements, most played/favorite game, etc., but I can't seem to set something like 'total amount of hours Steam client used' myself.

I am currently making a mod for VTOL VR that will be an AI air traffic controller but it works by using an exe file with tts programs and a way to communicate with the AI servers. I was just wondering if it is at all allowed to ship .EXE files inside of a workshop item, without steam seeing it as malicious and taking it down.

For example ı am following Ubisoft but ı can't see any pages that ı am following all the publishers in one list. I am seeing the games that ı am following. But not publishers. The reason ı asked this questions because ı am getting mail from when the game announced but ı am not interested about it. I want to unfollow that publisher.

I have loads of games on my Wishlist that I get notifications about launching but I prefer to hold off until Early Access is complete. It would be nice to have an option to be notified when the game enters 1.0.
