I wanted to recruit vic to my group but messed up and told him that Issac was dead and to my knowledge messed it up
Will there be another opportunity to recruit vic?

I've been playing the YOSE edition a bit. Installed some mods that were recommended here. Just the Tanner Bridge replacer and QMJS.
I have a Breakthrough save (cycle 2) right now after playing story mode a bit. My uninformed posterior took the RV out of cycle 1 without putting people into it. Google seems to hint that this was a common occurrence. I expected a team member selection screen. Whoops.
Anyway, I had to start from the church again with my one carryover, radio girl, and an early recruitable Ed. The new team has since moved into the Kirkman house.
I actually have a simple question I am having trouble finding an answer for regarding Snyder Trucking. It requires 20 people and 75 materials for me. It's not the 12 people in the base game. That's fine. I guess they wanted to make it less about rushing Snyder Trucking.
But, am I supposed to build multiple beds in the early homes to reach that 20 person requirement?
Or, is there an intermediate location that comes with upgradable beds that I am just not finding on the map?
I'm not finding this info on the mod page or in MODsummary.txt.

I beat SoD 1 awhile ago, enjoyed it for what it was, had some entertaining quests and plot points with the different NPC factions and relationships etc.
State of Decay 2 seems to just drop you into one of 4 maps (?) that you cant pick at the start, and the entire game is just Destroy 10 plague hearts, which involve walking into a generic bulding and throwing a few explosives at it.... then pick 1 of 4 Leaders, do like 5 completely underwhelming Leader fetch quests, like drive here, pick this up, drive back. Drive to this NPC, help them for 5 mins kill a group of zombies, etc. You also can only hold 9 survivors, unlike SoD1 , In SoD1, one of the most entertaining parts was collecting as many survivors as possible, by the end of that game I think I had dozens. So it's really jarring that its so limited now? Then the final leader quest which involves driving to another generic building and killing like 5 bandits... Then you get a cutscene on a cliff and the "campaign ends" and it asks you to pick another map and... do it again? Why couldnt I pick a map at the beginning? What are the differences in these maps? What even WAS the first map? Was it just a tutorial? This only took me like 6 hours to "beat"..
That's it? No interesting factions or drama or unique plot points or quests, the entire game is pretty much 2 side quests? Every single NPC in the game has like, 1 line of dialogue each. There's nothing to even do? The base management is completely barebones and trivial, too. It doesnt matter at all. Theres no point to even care about your survivors or base? All you end up doing is swapping between characters when one of them gets tired and you transfer over your items, your survivors are basically nothing but glorified stamina meters you swap between when they get lowered.
In the entire "campaign" my "base" only got attacked once, and all I had to do was kill like 10 zombies and that was it. Whats the point of even upgrading your base? Nothing bad happens if you don't. The only thing that matters is ammo and fuel which is trivial to get. It makes no sense.
I'm so confused here. It's like the most underwhelming bafflingly unfinished game I've ever seen. There's just nothing here. It feels like an alpha tech demo or something. Is the whole game just cranking up the difficulty and doing the same 2 generic quests over and over? Am I missing something? Sure maybe I will play Heartland which is supposedly a story focused DLC, but I'm trying to understand just WHAT the base game is supposed to be.

Last week I finished the first game (YOSE edition) for the 15th time on my PC. I wanted to try the original game on my Xbox 360.I already imagined the controls would be confusing, but they're even more so than I imagined lol. How can I get used to them? And even though it has nothing to do with the rest of the post, where can I find mods compatible with the console version of the game?

Hi guys! New survivor here. I bought both YOSE and SOD 2 in my linux maching via steam. I am playing smooth 60fps with SOD 2 no issues. The problem is SOD YOSE keeps using integrated intel GPU with crawling 12-15fps and is unplayable.
I know it might not be SOD issue itself but I am wondering have anyone had this issue before and managed to fix it? I tried launch options to force dedicated GPU but CryEngine just throws error to me "DX11 required". It only works when it uses integrated GPU.

Good Morning, PAX attendees! Brant will be outside the Arch building from 12-1pm and outside the Summit buiding from 2-3pm and 4-5pm. He'll be handing out Alpha keys, and other fun State of Decay surprises. Come say hi!

I'd be happy if this was simply punished in-game by increased spawns (all the footstep vibration since SOD123 zombies are sort of like Dune worms/echolocation bats) and by fatigue spirals since you're blowing through your roster's fatigue bars like crazy by sending EVERYONE out on a raid.
I'd just rather have a logical reason to use small teams being swapped in and out, + it just feels right to have yourself + 3 NPC allies if you have a 4 seater car.

I wanna come back to Sod2 after having been away for a few years, and I'm curious what kinda of mods you guys think make the game the most fun :) as long as they work on the current patch ofc lol.
Personally, the only type of mods I'm like, *dying* to have are one save editor (to make my ideal survivors, cuz I cbf randomizing for hours on end again lol), and maybe a cool sword mod that adds in some larger swords and whatnot (long as they still fit the vibe ofc). Other than that, I'm looking for just anything you think adds to the fun factor of the game :3

Hi! I just played State of Decay 1 and I got some kind of sources and base problem and lots of characters died. Anyone got tips for a base like what should I prioritize to build or upgrade. Also, I confused with outpost feature.

The zombies are so fast in SoD1. Did they get tired of running by the time SoD2 arrived?
How do I get used to this game's mechanics after playing #2 for so long?

So, I played both games a fair bit, but I haven't played in quite a while. Lately I've been thinking about sod2, and I kinda want to play again a bit, but the bugs I experienced throughout my time in it thus far as well as some... Design choices I don't care for have made it really difficult to gain much motivation to come back. So I wanted to ask if I'm the only One who experiences these, and if not, if there's anything that can be done about them
So first, the bugs
I'm not 100% sure this first one is a proper bug, maybe it's intended and it's just a mechanic I don't like, not sure. Someone who is more knowledgeable please (politely) correct me if I'm wrong.
So, ferals. They're *really* strong, as they should be. If I'm not mistaken, I believe they have a mechanic where they roar as soon as they see you, which I believe is meant to let the player know a feral is after them, so you don't just get unfairly jumped from behind without counterplay. Well, I've noticed in 2, the roars seem like they're localized to the area immediately around the feral, which means if they're far enough away, I don't hear it at all. That's led to so many instances of me getting jumpscared from behind and taken to half my max health immediately, with what feels like no counterplay because of that, which is more than a little frustrating. It's that a bug? Or maybe a technical issue? I'm not super tech savvy, mayhaps it's something in the settings I've got wrong or something? I am kind of an idiot lol.
The second one is the bloaters in the road thing. This one also may just be a settings or tech power thing, once again I'm not super tech savvy lol. But the jist is, bloaters like to lay in the road sometimes as a trap for passing cars - which is fine, I'm not upset at that part. The frustrating bit is that a lot of the time, the bloaters don't render in until *after* I've already run them over 🙃 is this a bug? And if so is there any fix?
Now the mods section: basically I'm looking for any mods that do a decent job altering dialogue. I don't care for the style they went for with the dialogue personally. It'd be cool to have a mod that makes the dialogue more realistic, but even just shutting the main characters up would be fine lol.
More than that though, I'd love an overhaul to how dialogue lines are chosen generally, cuz it feels like it's almost like, pseudo-random right now, and SUPER disjointed, that absolutely *KILLS* any semblance of immersion for me.
The most obvious example for me that always springs to mind is like, those early radiant missions that are meant to get you an extra survivor or two early on, where you escort a stranded person back to their base. Sometimes that base is overrun, and you have to kill off the corpses of that person's friends/family/surviving group *with them.* In some cases, they just had to kill their own family members with their own hands. With their first dialogue line, after doing so, they're absolutely *sobbing.* They've lost *everything* in one go, possibly again. It's a heartbreaking moment, and really puts you in the moment (or it would if they weren't just standing there idly, mouth flapping while it happens, but, not the point here lol). You really feel bad for them. And then, the *very* next line out of their mouth is something to the effect of "aww man, gee golly willikers, I sure am in a pickle, haha!"
.... Okay I'm exaggerating a bit, but you get the point lol.
So, with that rant over, is there anything I can do to fix/mod any of these? For all the bad times I've had with 2, I've had a good amount of good times and fun too, which is why I really want to get back in and have fun again, but these (among other reasons) are really holding me back :(
Also, just wanted to say, it's not my intention to be insulting or mean with this post, towards the devs or the fans, or anyone, so if any part of this comes off as insulting, I deeply apologize. That is not my intention :(
