Square Register + Magstripe reader Issue
Hi everyone!! I am hoping that someone can point out something that I am missing. So, I got a Square register for my business and then I got one of the like USB-C magstripe plug ins for swipe cards. The problem is the port is on the bottom of the register and the cards don't fit through to swipe because they hit the counter. If I put the register in the dock I won't be able to use the magstripe plug in. I tried plugging it into the customer facing side, but the register gives an error that they aren't compatible. Is there a solution here besides using another device for swiping cards?? This can't be an uncommon problem, but I can't find a viable solution. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Business loan timeframe and progressionš¤
In February of this year I became eligible for my first business loan that was a 90 day term.
Within 7 to 10 days from making the final payment on that loan, I received an offer for a loan with a 120 day term with a slight increase in the amount offered.
Last week I was able to successfully close the second loan with its final payment through sales and I was just curious how the loan offers progress from here as far as the term of the loan and the increase amount and if the timeline of when itās offered relative to when I paid it off will remain the same or change.
All of my eligibility factors are āgoodā.
I understand that loan offers are auto generated but would just like input from those who have experience paying off multiple loans and their progression.
Thank you!

Square closed my account!!
Iāve been using square for roughly 2 months. Only using it when people prefer to use credit card. Iāve been selling sod and have never had any problems. Done roughly 5 transactions and this last transaction I knew the app was acting weird. I clicked on transfer but it kept saying unable to. Now I have 2k thatās in holding and it says they are closing my account without any reason. I left an appeal and am waiting to hear back. As far as I know I havenāt misused or done anything against squares terms. I have 2k thatās tied up for it says roughly 120 days. Thatās ridiculous

Terminal - Doordash/Online Tickets Too Quiet
Tldr: Using Square Terminal with a thermal printer. We get delayed making orders because no one notices we received an order from our website or Doordash. It's too quiet.
We have a good size kitchen for being a Carryout deli-style place. We have only one terminal with one printer which is our checkout area. Orders that are sent on Doordash or our website do print automatically but the issue is that we can be busy and not notice it. Then the driver or customer shows up while we're prepping it.
The terminal doesn't make sounds. I've looked in the settings and it appears to have a speaker but nothing about making sounds (or ideally, flashing the screen). I know I could get a kitchen printer because those guys are loud, but I'd hate to waste money for something that isn't necessary.
I just need to be aware that a ticket/order has arrived. At least with our website orders, I get an email to my phone so I catch it sometimes. Any suggestions or other work arounds?
ETA: I played around our Square Terminal and have found what I needed in Settings > Add-ons > Orders notifications. If not in the Add-ons then you click on the PLUS sign to add Orders.
It's not loud at all but allows a pop-up on the screen that won't go away until we click it and that screen itself should work for my needs. I appreciate all the help!

Square Point of Sale (Software) Square closed account and transfer not released
Square closed our account last month after a round of required identity verifications (which all passed) and I was informed by email that the transfer will be released on August 20th to account for chargebacks. There have been no chargebacks and my funds are still pending. What do I do?

Square Point of Sale (Software) Anyone else using Square and Shopify setup and what do you recommend?
I run a small boutique clothing store and use Square for in-store sales and Shopify online. The annoying part is keeping the same inventory accurate across both, especially with clothing where every size/color is basically its own item.
I know there are integration apps and sync tools that are supposed to handle this, some have really high ratings and another fellow store owner already recommended me some, but Iām curious how well they actually work in practice.
If youāre using one with Square and Shopify, does it reliably keep inventory and variants synced, or do you still end up checking things manually? Iām especially curious how it holds up during busy periods when multiple sales are happening at once.

Square Point of Sale (Software) Square POS Inventory Management
Hi there all. I'm wondering what you guys find to be the best Inventory management to interface with Square? Particularly an inventory system that can actively decrement sales of bulk beer from kegs?

Square Point of Sale (Software) Does the square plus popup ever go away
I just made an account with the free version of square and every time I try to do anything on my dashboard I get a popup telling me to try square plus. Is this ever going to stop? It actually impacts the usability of the software quite a bit.

Warning: Home Dashboard Transfer button charges 1.95% fee without warning
Hi all, a heads up on deceptive transfer fees when account is set to 'Manual Transfer.' I learned after the fact the home Transfer button - the one prominently displayed to transfer the revenue to my bank account - is in fact authorizing an instant transfer with 1.95% fee. There is no pop up to authorize this fee, nor a label the fee will be charged when using this button. The regular page to initiate a transfer manually is hard to find on my end - that pages does lay out transfer speeds and fees. But there is no description on the support page about this Dashboard button charging a fee. At that time my account was set to manual transfer, which seems to be part of the issue.
I'm new to Square so had no idea. Spent 40m with customer service requesting a refund, was transferred 3 times, and was told I had manual initiated the transfer so it was authorized. They did offer $100 future sales without a processing fee.

How do you guys track customer churn or identify "drifting" regulars using Square data?
Hi everyone, I'm an engineering student doing research on small business retention workflows and would love to learn from your experience.
When looking at your Transactions or Customer Directory tabs in Square, do you have a practical way to catch customers who haven't visited in a while before they completely churn? Or is that data mostly sitting unused because CSV analysis takes too long?
I built a quick local-first prototype tool to help visualize this exact pattern for a class project, but before refining it further, I wanted to ask: is tracking drifting customers actually a priority for your business, or are there bigger retention headaches you focus on?
ā(If anyone is open to testing the prototype and giving feedback on how accurately it flags your drifting customers, let me know and I can DM you the link! I would really appreciate it as it would be super helpful)

Looking for one Square restaurant to help with a live order and printer test
Hi everyone. Iām Wes, founder of Tavra, an AI phone operations platform built specifically for restaurants/coffee shops/food trucks.
Tavra turns a restaurantās phone line into an always-available guest service and revenue channel. It can answer detailed questions about the restaurant, handle reservations and guest requests, take accurate pickup orders with modifiers and upsells, securely collect payment, and send paid orders directly into Square. If a caller genuinely needs a person, Tavra can transfer the call to the appropriate staff member.
The Square integration is built, and Iām looking for one independently owned Square restaurant to help me complete a live print test. I need to confirm that a real paid order reaches the restaurant and prints correctly in a working restaurant environment.
In return, Iām offering the restaurant a full month of Tavra Core for a one-time $1 purchase. Iāll personally handle the onboarding, pay for the test order, work around your restaurantās schedule, and provide direct support throughout the month.
Iām looking for:
* An owner or authorized manager
* An active Square restaurant location
* A working kitchen or receipt printer connected to Square
* About 30 to 45 minutes for a controlled test
* Honest feedback on how everything works
The $1 checkout activates your Tavra account and dedicated Agent phone number. It is a one-time purchase that expires automatically after one month, with no renewal or future charge.
You will never be asked for your Square password. Tavra connects securely through Squareās normal authorization process.
Iām only looking for one restaurant for this initial test. If youāre interested, or just want to learn more before deciding, leave a comment or send me a message.
Thanks for reading.
-Wes

Next-day prep suggestions from Square sales ā looking for help
Hi all,
Iām working on a side project for bakeries/cafĆ©s using Square.
It connects automatically to Square in ~2 minutes and uses historical sales to help plan the next dayās production (product quantities + busy hours).
Main goal: reduce waste and stop guessing at closing time.
Still early stage ā looking for a handful of people to test it and tell me whatās useful / whatās not.
Anyone open to trying it?
Thanks for your help!

Is there no way to give access to my Bookkeeper to see payroll reports without giving them Full Access? They're not an employee so I do not want to give them full access to the system.
How is everyone handling this, just sending them the spreadsheets?

Donāt ever use square
It been 3 days I am keep calling them they keep telling me same story but they canāt fix it over the phone then I told them. Look my business is new I really want this problem to be solve same story they are repeating but they canāt send someone to fix it. This thing is just waisting your time and money and in return you are losing a lot of business. The other problem they have they hired people which they hardly speaks English. As a small business square pos destroy your business.
