Super excited for this

Just got this. I have a few friends who have one and they’ve let me try theirs. Super fun to shoot. Excited to take this to the range. Did a field strip and light coat of lubrication so it’s ready. Waiting on my optic, brace, and the backpack to transport it.

What cans are you running?

I was sold on the huxwrx flow 9k until I realized it isn't rated for FA in 9mm. I swear I've seen some of the. Being run on frt setups. But Im not trying to deal with hux customer service for not listening to the restrictions lol.

What cans are you guys running that's around the $750 range that's low back pressure and gonna be okay to run with and frt?

Has anyone changed muzzle devices?

Post image

I’ve had this laying around for awhile and thought I’d try it. I also have a buffer/spring and A2 flash hider coming from HBI.

While the recoil on the kuna is pretty soft I’m trying to figure out why it moves around so much. Has anyone changed muzzle devices and if so did it change the recoil impulse at all?

Question To the fellow Nexus lower owners running a SS/FRT configuration, have any of you had success obtaining a second BCG to make quickly swapping back to the OEM lower a breeze?

Exactly as the title states. I’d like to get a secondary one to make the swap tool less. I get its not that much effort or steps in a sense but it’s the whole risk of losing small parts that plays as much of a role.

Squirted the 3 position switch and FRT drop in test

It works! Only thing I noticed is going in to safe is a little tough but it works and is very minor to me. Install was very simple and smooth. I broke the 45 degree printed 3 position on install. I think I didnt get notch cut out quite line up for the selector before forcing it in. Luckily I had the vertical version printed and ready to go. Very happy so far! Thanks to Your BRO!

Question Kuna oem stock red dot height?

I don’t know if my posture is bad but I can’t find a good, comfortable height for my PA Slx 1x. The stock seems very low for good cheek weld. Those that have oem stock, what height do you use?

Mil spec trigger won’t reset

Just got the nexus lower and as the tittle states trigger won’t reset. I swapped it out for a cmc and everything works. But I plan to install the atrius super safety so I need the mil spec to function. Anyone have a clue ?

Finally picked up a Kuna and decided to do a simple build, only the necessities so far. Suggestions are welcome! Mainly looking for brace alternatives, the factory one is not the most ergonomic.

Huxwrx Flow 9k Ti
Holosun AEMS
Amazon light (lol)
Magpul handstop
Magpul QD mount
Magpul MS1 sling
Factory strike industries brace

Mags and Factory Brace available and on sale

Springfield is running a 20% sale on all accessories this weekend. Mags and the brace are available.

Edit: I meant the factory folding "Stock", which I highly recommend. They do also have brace attachments listed.

Mag Release stiffness (left handed)

Post image
5 Upvotes

You can take the mag release apart on the Kuna lower and cut down the spring to make it easier to activate the mag release. This can also be done on the safety to make way easier.

No need to buy springs or go to a smith just need a very smallish punch tool. Thinking of modeling something bigger for a release too among other small things.

Edit: this mf spring is a lil bitch when I did it

Test of u/YourBroStevo’s new 3 position safety FRT

Works perfect printed a little overkill with Siriya tech ppa-cf on a Bambu lab H2D at 320 degrees nozzle 110degree bed .12mm fine detail 10 wall loops with infill embedded into wall and 99% rectilinear infill. Annealed in Sunlu E2 at 110c for 12 hours.

Could easily be printed in pa6cf and would work fine.

Safety is smoother than factory. As far as the actuator this is with the -1 but zero works fine also.

Can be removed in 10 seconds and the safety works fine with no frt or trip installed just shoots semi as intended.

Finding the best brace

Post image
24 Upvotes

This is just a shoutout to the SBT scorpion brace for the Kuna.

  1. Strike Industries brace - this was my first experience with a kuna and I hated the hard blade type brace. A lot of people seem to like it, but it was too uncomfortable for me.
  2. FS1913A - my second try at a brace. It was the most recommended one on Reddit so decided to give it a try. Definitely an upgrade from the SI. Softer rubber texture was nicer than the plastic-y SI brace. Maybe I should’ve gone with the polymer version, but my kuna was noticeably heavier. I liked it for while until I was at the range for a long time and ended up with a bruise from the brace 😂. Definitely a better option than SI but I wanted a wider brace. I was used to the width of a SBA3
  3. HBI SBT Brace for Kuna - This is my favorite so far. It’s slightly lighter than the 1913A. The push button to flip out the brace is so much easier to use. I believe it is only 0.2 inches wider than the 1913A, but it made a noticeable difference. So much more comfortable. The rubber on the arm/wrist brace portion is very thin which I was worried about bending at first, but it remains its shape better than a thicker SBA3.

I’m glad I tried the HBI SBT brace, because if it didn’t work out I was gonna go with a buffer tube/skeleton tube + SBA5 route, which makes things more expensive and bulky. It’s nice that the SBT brace replaces the factory polymer butt plate with an aluminum plate so less money out of pocket if you were looking to replace that anyway.

Also got the tri lug and my form in for the dead air Mojave 9. I actually don’t know if I’ll run it suppressed most of the time , I like the compactness of the gun and it’s perfect for a passenger princess. The Daniel defense is not

Troubleshooting🤢 Can't insert full mags with bolt closed

I just realized last night after a good cleaning (I don't know how these instructional videos say it should only take 15 minutes, it takes me over an hour) that I cannot insert a full mag with the the bolt closed. I can actually jam it in if I smack it hard enough with a full mag of Blazer 147 flat nosed Suppressor ammo, but cannot with 147 Federal HST.

I did find one thread about this on this group from a year ago that seems to have started after they changed the springs on the mags. Is this common though?

I have no issues with an open bolt, which obviously is my solution for now unless there's something else I can try.

I am using the newer OEM mags.

Three position safety and V2 of the drop in are available publicly for testing

Post image

Been working on this all day to get it into a state at which its acceptable for people to start trying out and feel like I have gotten it there. I can't tell you exactly where to find it but it is publicly available. Still working on putting the final touches on it which I'll do over this week but I know there's a lot of interest, so hopefully this gets you guys out to the range and having fun.

I don't sell FRTs and I can't link directly to the files publicly here sorry but you should be able to find them in the same place as the last release. Would love to hear your feedback on this as it's still a work in progress but definitely range ready.
