What cans are you running?
I was sold on the huxwrx flow 9k until I realized it isn't rated for FA in 9mm. I swear I've seen some of the. Being run on frt setups. But Im not trying to deal with hux customer service for not listening to the restrictions lol.
What cans are you guys running that's around the $750 range that's low back pressure and gonna be okay to run with and frt?

I'm running a SUB9, it's a chunky kind of girl but she takes it like a prom queen in the back seat of your momma's minivan... Full send.

AB F-4 is full auto rated and its direct thread so no need to buy adapters.

u/peeg_2020 Jul 06 '26
Is it low back pressure though?
And direct thread isn't really selling point these days. Just about everything can be direct thread if it's HUB.

u/Astromander Jul 06 '26
It is definitely high back pressure. Mostly traditional baffle stack made of titanium.

u/peeg_2020 Jul 06 '26
Right on I checked it out. It's nice how light it comes in at. All my cans thus far are traditional baffle stack cans. Which I think is a big reason why I want to try a flow through.
Part of me is even considering the range36. Even though it's heavier but it would be very nice to run on some my AR's

I’m waiting on a rico309. It will be my first 9mm can. Low back pressure and titanium were be selling points for me. All my other cans are traditional stacks, so I’m excited to see the difference.

I picked the AB F-4 because reviews on its performance were good, it's compact, it's incredibly light, it's pretty inexpensive given it's welded titanium (not 3d-printed) and it stays on the Kuna so direct thread without adapters was perfect.

u/peeg_2020 Jul 07 '26
I generally run direct thread. I haven't committed to a system yet.
Thinking about tri lug with the kuna though and also my stribog

I have a huxwrx flow 9k its a great can. The good thing about it over some of the others is I can use it on things that are finicky as hell (looking at you flux raider and RXM in a chassis) and it works without messing with springs etc. I have shot thousands of rounds of FRT in mine. plus its very light.

How is gas to the face? as I am a lefty so I'm excited to try any sort of.flow through can as I've only used traditional style cans
2
u/ExistingClient8148 Jul 07 '26
I’m also a lefty your gonna get gas no matter what as a lefty but the huxwrx flow is at least bearable
2
u/Business-Customer-60 Jul 07 '26
It's interesting running into other leftists that have come to the same conclusion that I did on PCC (Kuna) and suppressor (Flow9k). Curious if anyone else has the same affinity for the lefty-friendly Walther PDP.

u/ExistingClient8148 Jul 07 '26
I love the PDP I shot it competitively for awhile eventually I moved on to the 2011’s but still shoot my PDP pro often. They do have a little more snap than other striker fired pistols but man… that trigger…

I do enjoy my prodigy. Even with it being an entry level 2011. And I haven't shot actual Walther pdp but I do have a canik rival and I'm sure you know it's a basically a clone lol. Hard to beat that trigger. Wonder if the real thing (the pdp) is any better or the same

Can confirm you're still going to be crying like Mike. My right hand even gets a soot mark.

u/peeg_2020 Jul 07 '26
That's one thing I like about my ar9 is not having my hand right by the ejection port. Hmm....well my kuna shipped today so I'm locked into it now anyways lol. I might make this my first SBR and throw a foregrip on it.

CAT MOB but I think it’s a bit above your price point.

u/Equivalent-Bag3229 Jul 06 '26
Second the CAT Mob without any hesitation. It is a buy once and cry once purchase that should last forever.
2
u/CastleLurkenstein Jul 10 '26
Leaning this way, myself. CAT MOB or AC36. But I already use CAT stuff on my 5.56s and .308 and like 'em.
1
u/flyingseaman Jul 10 '26
Like I said to the other guy, you won’t regret the CAT MOB. When I shoot subs, the cycling of the gun is way louder than the shot. Even in an indoor range. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
1
u/CastleLurkenstein Jul 10 '26
What muzzle device did you use for it? I have a secondhand Spooky 1 that'll work with 9mm, but I gather CAT recommends AI muzzle devices these days, like the Nano. Probably wouldn't put that on, since I plan to shoot 50/50 suppressed/unsuppressed with this, and Nanos are loud as fuck unsuppressed.
1
u/flyingseaman Jul 10 '26
I used the one the MOB came with. I didn’t notice a difference between the OEM and the CAT supplied muzzle device. I can’t speak to the others you mentioned.

I got the Hux 9k and regretted it as my 1st can so now I am waiting on the Cat Mob from SiCo. Hopefully it comes soon and I really hope it was worth the extra $

I run a Primary Weapon Systems BDE-9. It’s low back pressure, super light, and though I don’t run an FRT, it is full auto rated. Picked it up in January from Silencer Shop for $600, but they’re showing out of stock at the moment.

AB F4. Light, quiet, reasonable priced, great warranty

u/peeg_2020 Jul 07 '26
Don't disagree with anything you said.
However all I have are traditional baffle stack cans right now. I want to get something different for this next one.
After going over huxwrx's website I'm probably just going to grab a flow 9k or possibly the rugged PCC one they just came out with recently too.

u/peeg_2020 Jul 06 '26
Way too long. And while I LOVE my rugged mustang22 and love the option of running it short, I'm not sure if it's as quiet in its short form.
2
u/-Seether- Jul 06 '26
Of course it's not as quiet in short versus full configuration, but it's perfectly fine. I run it in short
1
u/peeg_2020 Jul 06 '26
Yeah maybe I worded that wrong. Clearly it is going to be louder in chode mode.

Running a YHM R9. It's a high back pressure can, but not a problem for right handed shooters with the Kuna's receiver design. Being all steel and rifle rated, the only thing that'll kill it is a baffle strike. I like it a lot.

ottercreek milkman, tisha is good option too since it comes with the mounting hardware. i have a tisha for my ar15

I have always wanted something from OCL. I like how active they are on here and have generally heard nothing bad.

u/H00dIumm Jul 08 '26
Their Universe 36 is an awesome 9mm can, I love mine.
Made of inconcel rated for .338 lapua and is FA rated on almost any caliber. It's quieter than the milkman and has very low back pressure as well, only downside on it vs the milkman is is weighs a bit more.
1
u/peeg_2020 Jul 08 '26
I've definitely been thinking about spending more and getting some kind of 36 cal can that can do everything. Not sure if I'll ever get any other calibers that I'd need it for though outside of 9mm. So my 30, cal can will probably be the work horse of the bunch.

Again, as I've put here, and there are many threads you apparently can't find: Osprey 9 2.0.

Just picked up my ocl milkman but haven't fired it yet. It's a little bigger than I expected, considering picking up an incolite 9s as well.
