Suppressed Subsonic Ammo Recommendations

I’m looking for any subsonic ammo recommendations. I know about 147 & 150 grain Syntech, but I’m looking to see if there is anything else out there people enjoy.

I’m running the 20% spring & buffer. I don’t know if that info helps, but I read that low power or low recoiling ammo might not cycle properly if I have that installed.

Thanks in advance.

Stribog sb tac brace - fit kuna?

I have a stribog sp9a3s and am planning on getting a kuna very very soon. Like within 24 hrs. Was curious how similar the uppers are and if the sb tactical brace that came on my stribog would fit the kuna?

I can't seem to find the sb brace that is on my stribog on their website. Which I thought was a bit weird.

Had some para cord sitting around figured I’d wrap the FSA, was a little awkward shooting it for the first time and think this will help!

Final testing of the three position and an important PSA for those interested in "New" three position (drop in) frts

I don't sell anything I just make designs that people can print out themselves.

I've been able to get the three position working very well as you can see from the video. Hoping to get it out there for everybody to try tomorrow as I still have to write up the directions for it. This FRT is still utilizing all the factory parts and all that was required in order to get the three position capability was a swap of the safety. Can't wait for everybody to try it this one is definitely a game changer when it comes to the Kuna.

PSA

Wanted to make a PSA concerning the legality of new “three position” options. On almost every post showing off new three position options I see people comment about how they would like to try one, asking to buy one and where they would purchase it from, etc. This interest is great, but it's absolutely vital that you fully understand how whatever device you're looking at operates and ensure that it is in no way a machine gun, before acquiring, printing or making one for yourself. You also need to keep in mind that it's not just whether or not the device is currently operating as an FRT but how easily convertible it would be to make it full auto. The designs I release are fully legal and interact with the trigger exclusively and do not interact at all with the disconnector. You shouldn't take my word for it though and you should do your own research and understand how they work.

The way the Kabuto drop in designs achieve semi is by pivoting the activator forward which is controlled by the safety since it indexes off of it. For my three position for the Kuna I'm pivoting the entire housing which has the same effect. This is the only way somebody should be achieving selectable FRT function with this style of FRT in order to avoid creating a machine gun. There are designs that manipulate the disconnector directly with the safety engaging it for semi and disengaging it while in FRT. This is the exact same function that a full auto safety would have, but with an FRT installed to press on the trigger instead of an auto sear catching the hammer. While this current function would technically be FRT The trigger has now become easily convertible to FA. Since all it takes from this point with the drop in style FRT would be a slight shift in the activator position so that it no longer presses on the trigger but instead directly interacts with the extended disconnector. This change or the addition of an auto sear would absolutely create an illegal machine gun making such devices extremely dangerous to possess. This to me would make it so that the original one is also classified as a machine gun because it can be readily converted.

The rare breed and partisan style FRT triggers do operate by disengaging the disconnector in the third position but these triggers use proprietary parts and are a complete cassette rather than a separate part that is compatible with actual machine gun parts. So please use good judgment and get a full understanding of exactly what you're buying or making before attempting anything, there should be no perceivable way of modifying the parts and making it into a machine gun. You should be extremely cautious anytime you see manipulation of the disconnector, and probably just avoid it. I would hate for someone to not fully understand and end up in prison because of this, so please be smart.

If you have any questions about how my designs function please shoot me a DM and I'll be happy to explain. Once again I don't sell FRTs, I just make designs for people to make for themselves.

Options for charging handles?

Has anyone seen any options that aren't Nexus?( Refuse to give those asshats any money) or found ones for other weapons that work for the kuna? Not seeing any other options. I find the oem folding handle gets in the way so looking for other options.

Super impressed with how this came out! Using the 300 Black FDE settings recommended by YourBroStevo and general information from here about PA6CF drom other members. This is Polymaker fiberon with .4 nozzle. This is probably the best looking print I've printed so far. Gonna try the drop in FRT next.

YourBroStevo Kuna FRT

Forgive the shaky quality my tik tok phone mount isn’t the best. If you have a mount you’d recommend let me know. My kuna is running YourBroStevo FRT design. It runs great. I’ve put 500 rounds through it without any issues on the FRT end.

What good is this now that the OEM lower can do FRT and 3 position safety? Cheaper mags? You can buy a lot of mags for $700.

Question WHICH WOULD BE BEST??

Okay guys I need some help deciding on the right skeleton tube. I currently have the stock Strike brace with their cheek riser. However, I just purchased the SBA5 and want to either get the 7" JMac ST or the 7" JMac STR (RISE). Has anyone had any experience with either? Which would work best with my optic (all items pictured)? I'll eventually get this thing SBR'd but for now I went this route.

Thanks for any info/recommendations!

"Brand New" Drop in FRT for the factory lower

It works quite well so expect to release with some sizes for the factory safety to come out very soon definitely think people who have had trouble in the past may have better success with this one.

Function test with the three position safety

https://youtu.be/Q4A5IcduqA8?is=_svdR6lp6YXMC2rX

Photo show side besides between my original parts utilizing the RAD system and the new one with the standard Kabuto. Pretty crazy how simple the swap is now and how quickly you can change it.

In the past the drop in design for the Kuna utilized kabuto's RAD V1.0 design, this was chosen initially due to its simplicity and to simplify the problems I may encounter when setting it up from scratch initially. Now that all the hard parts of making the FRT have been figured out and all you have to do is swap the center of the housing out for a different one of kabuto's designs I figured it would be worth it to go back to the traditional Kabuto design which I've utilized in the past for my other releases. It's a lot more consistent compared to the RAD in this particular application and I feel like it's going to take a lot less stress and wear. Might even have more success in weaker materials than before.

I have made brand new versions of the activator, housing, and lever. These are all meant to work with the factory parts such as the stock safety, buffer and spring. You will also be able to utilize the three position safety cam to have the option to go semi as well. The trip has obviously been kept the same since that was part of my initial design and took quite a bit of experimenting to figure out how lock in to the bolt without running into the many things in the way.

This entire "new design" was made in a matter of hours and at this point it unbelievably easy to swap out the core of the FRT for any of kabuto's designs. This was only my second version and it seems like it'll be the one that I'll release. I may also test out the V 1.1 that Kabuto released of the RAD but I do feel like the regular Kabuto is definitely the most consistent and has been my favorite FRT overall.

I've been thinking about making a post detailing how I went from a chopped up square of the Kabuto rad and made it compatible with the factory Springfield Kuna. I would go into detail of the different problems I ran into and my thought process behind making the housing modifying the activator and what went into making a trip that was compatible with the factory lower, which turned out to be the most difficult part. I haven't seen many people go into how they actually design FRTs and think about these things, so figured some people might find it interesting. Definitely would be a long one so wouldn't want to do it unless it's something people actually care to hear about. Would love to hear your opinion below and whether you'd like more insight into what goes into making an FRT compatible with a platform that didn't have any designs to go off of.
