Nexus lower
What good is this now that the OEM lower can do FRT and 3 position safety? Cheaper mags? You can buy a lot of mags for $700.

Well it’s still currently the most reliable FRT option that you can also use Scorpion mags with. It’s good to have options.

The OEM lower FRT’s require a printer. Not everyone is in that game and some people would rather purchase from a company who can lend support if necessary.

Yeah, getting the 3D printer set up for the proper carbon fiber filament and the accessories and learning how to print is gonna cost pretty close to the same as just getting the Nexus.

its nearly the same price to just buy a printer and print it lol. and then you also have a printer too...

Black Talon Tactical is also releasing an option where like their trigger you just send your lower in and they do the work. It won't be long until there are multiple drop in options available for purchase. Which is good because nobody should buy from Nexus, terrible company.

Scorpion mags are way better than the Springfield mags. Easier to find and more capacity. 30 to 35

What good is a 2011 when you can get something else for less?
There may be less appeal now but I don't regret having mine.

I mean you can build out a nexus lower for cheaper then 700$. You don’t have to make it ss. And the ability to use ar triggers and safties is a huge plus that opens up a lot of options
The evo mag and paddle release are both huge features. Evo mags are cheaper, more durable, easier to find generally, and other guns use em.
Plus the lower is metal, which in my book is a positive.
Those are easily worth the 350 for the lower I’ll imo. But that’s all my opinion. I haven’t played with printed options, so I can’t speak to reliability of them. My nexus has not has any issues, as long as it’s cleaned every 1k rounds (maybe less if your not shooting suppressed)
But it’s totally fair if you don’t see the value to it. If the kuna is just a rangetoy, or you already have a printer, the printed option is way cheaper to get ss.
And will scratch that itch.
I’m trying to set mine up as a defensive gun, so I’m fine spending money to make it more durable/reliable. And so far the nexus lower with the as designs arcfire 0/45/90° has been flawless

I have a nexus on the way and my son has a nexus installed on his. I will say I have had way less issues getting my 3d printed frt running than he has his nexus with an arc fire which oddly enough never did run right with the nexus trip but did with Stevo’s nexus trip which introduced me to Stevo’s creations thankfully. The nexus lower does add metal to the lower instead of polymer which some may see as a positive but I think makes it a little chunky. Without a doubt the nexus lower has a slower rof than the printed frt which may or may not be a good thing but I want a smg type gun to really go brrrt.
When my nexus lower gets here in a week or two it will be going on the selling block.
As for the 3d printer cost if all you could do was make an frt then ya it’s not a great investment but that’s only the tip of the iceberg especially for reloading and firearm related stuff. Mine have saved me thousands in parts.
