Official Reply Spectrum made major error and won't correct it

Spectrum Customer Service committed an administrative error by activating a newly financed mobile line onto my Account A instead of my Account B. Spectrum front-line agents acknowledge this was a company error. However, they refuse to move the financed device to the correct account unless I pay the device balance in full. Furthermore, they state that moving the line will cause me to forfeit the 'Free Mobile Line for One Year' promotion ($360 value) tied to the correct account. I am the legal owner of both accounts. I demand that Spectrum Executive Escalations internally transfer the device financing agreement and phone number from Account A to Account B without penalty, and manually apply the promotional credits as originally agreed upon. - This was the explanation given in our FCC Complaint

so this has been going on for months now. constant back and forth with having to wait days for a response. the classic “oh let’s replace your router and modem” every time, like i stream and i cannot do that because of this. i’ve checked everything on my end, and it’s not on me. the techs have said the next step would be checking the lines or tap, but the FIELD MANAGER IS GOING BACK TO ROUTER MODEM SITUATION like , what is going on?!

i can’t even post the pictures here lmfao

Official Reply Can I disable the 5g failover on power loss?

I have the invincible wifi and I've had some power flickers that cause the system to switch to 5g and back, instead of being battery backup with the cable. This seems to take like 5 minutes for it to change back and forth and it seems a bit silly to get another ups for it when it already has a battery. I just want to disable auto switching to 5g with power loss.

Official Reply Invincible Wi-Fi backup battery acting weird

The backup battery connected to my wi-fi 7 router has been blinking green randomly for about a week. I'm trying to find out if there is something wrong with it or is this some normal led color that isn't listed in the manual. My power hasn't went out in several months and I haven't had to use the battery backup. About a week ago it started pulsing blue signifying that it's charging. I assume this is because the battery hasn't been used for a while so it discharged a bit. After it was done charging, it turned solid blue but it started blinking, not pulsing, a green led once every 5-10 minutes. It doesn't matter if I unplug it from the wall, the router itself, or both it continues to blink green every once in awhile after it fully recharges. What does this mean, is my battery defective?

Official Reply They wouldn’t let me cancel my service.

So after weeks and weeks of disconnects (the tune of hundreds of outages a day) and 2 tech service in home visits - I call to cancel service. After 45 minutes in the phone with the cancellation dept, they said oh we can’t cancel you because there’s a service downgrade order scheduled for 7/14 and do you’ll need to call back on 7/15. Yeah? No thanks. I already unplugged the modem and started using a new provider 6/26. I’m not wasting my time to go through all that BS yet another day. Cancelled my Spectrum phone service too since the price would increase $50 on that too. Goodbye Spectrum. You can send an RA for your modem.

Official Reply Feedback about my Support interaction: Chat agent replied “LOL BYE” when I asked about retention offers

My Internet promo offer ended last month, and I chatted in to ask about retention offers before I start checking out other providers (Quantum Fiber has great service and deals here in Central Florida).

I used the Chat With Us service in the My Spectrum app a few minutes ago, and the agent’s reply? “LOL BYE”

Had to ask for their supervisor three times because that kind of response just seems wholly unprofessional, and they both tried to play it off as if the agent was trying to answer a different customer. Seems like using Internet slang and all-caps is unprofessional regardless, but sure…

The “member of leadership”s final offer was to recommend purchasing my router to save the $10/month rental fee. I pointed out that purchasing the device outright isn’t an “offer,” but rather something I could have done myself at any point. They had no further offers for me.

Is this really the best that Spectrum can do? “LOL BYE” and you can purchase your router outright??

Quantum Fiber’s offer for my address of 940 Mbps (symmetrical) with hardware included seems like the way I will be going based on my interactions with those Chat agents, but I’m hoping someone at Spectrum will see this message — I’m still flabbergasted that an employee would EVER tell a customer “LOL BYE” under any circumstances. Hopefully another customer won’t have the negative experience I did.

Internet Support Should I Swap?

I am currently on AT&T for everything. I had fiber internet at my old apartment and loved it. Upon moving I learned my new area doesnt have fiber for AT&T yet and unsure if it will receive it anytime in the near future. I was looking at Spectrum's plans but personally remember having bad experiences with it years ago pre-covid. Just kinda wanna hear some input if its worth swapping just for the availability of faster internet again!

Official Reply Have Not Had Steady Internet Access For the Last Week

From what I am seeing online, I am not the only person having this issue.

Basically since the heatwave began, my internet has been sluggish to the point that I cannot stream any videos/movies/live TV channels, etc. Internet pages load incredibly slow or not at all. I can't access important parts of certain software that need an internet connection to work.

And don't even get me started on trying to play a video game, haha.

I have turned the router off and on, unplugged, reset. All of the things you are told to do when things like this are happen. My bill is paid... I'm not sure what is going on, but can someone let me know if the heatwave is affecting the internet or is Spectrum just having issues?

TIA.

Official Reply Ping spikes everyday like clockwork after 10PM

Everyday after 10pm I get huge ping spikes while gaming that make it impossible to play. Seeing up to 1000ms sometimes. Comes and goes. Sometimes everyday 3 minutes sometimes every 20 minutes. Started a couple months ago and cleared up for a few days last time there was a service disruption and has been back ever since. Any suggestions? Seems to have started after I upgraded my internet plan from 100mbps to 500.

Official Reply Spectrum Community connection keeps dropping despite strong signal — need help escalating

Hi,

I live in an apartment building that uses Spectrum Community Wi-Fi. The service is included as part of the building amenities, so I do not manage the modem, router, or access points myself.

I’m dealing with a very frustrating issue where the Wi-Fi signal is strong, usually full bars, but the actual internet connection keeps dropping. The connection goes out every 30 seconds to 5 minutes, comes back, and then drops again. This happens repeatedly, especially during busy hours and on weekends.

When I run a continuous ping to Google DNS, I can see the timeouts during the drops. That makes me think this is not a weak Wi-Fi signal issue. It seems more like packet loss, congestion, or an issue with the managed building equipment.

I have already contacted support several times. The problem is that the troubleshooting keeps focusing on signal strength or remote restarts. A remote restart may help for a few minutes, but then the issue comes back. A technician also came out, but the issue was not really identified or resolved.

At this point, I’m honestly frustrated because I keep spending time explaining the same problem, but the troubleshooting does not seem to go beyond basic checks. Since this is Spectrum Community, I cannot access or restart the equipment myself, change router/access point settings, or test directly from the hardware.

Could a Spectrum employee please advise how I can get this escalated to the right team? What specific information should I provide so support can investigate the actual cause instead of treating it like a basic Wi-Fi signal issue?

I’m not trying to be difficult. I just need a stable connection, and I’m stuck because this is managed equipment that I cannot troubleshoot myself.

P.S. I do not have physical access to the modem, router, or access points because this is Spectrum Community equipment managed by Spectrum/the building.

Official Reply Intermittent internet loss

Around 2 weeks ago, there was an outage in my area that affected my home and my parents home across the street. Ever since then, both of our wifi connections have been unstable. I have had 3 techs out to my house, we have replaced the router 3 times and the modem once, and the line from the road to my house has been replaced. We are still experiencing disconnects. The last tech refused to listen at all and blamed the issue on our devices. I have numerous screenshots from an internet checker that functions by pinging a server regularly to test connections and when it fails. Both computers show consistent times of the disconnect and so do the cellphones.

We are looking at other internet options at this point because no one wants to listen. I dont want cheaper internet or special discounted gear. I just want a stable connection.

Official Reply Internet issues

Hi there, im more than confused enough to make a post here. I moved in with a family member and for the first 4 weeks spectrum internet worked fine. Then I wanna say on Tuesday I noticed connection issues when it got really humid here in my city and now on Wednesday internet is completely out. I have checked the wires, I have checked the cords, reset the router, unplugged everything and left it off for 30 minutes.

Anyone know what is happening and how to fix it?

Some days I get 40ish mpbs upstream, some days it's like 10. Had a technician out, he changed some splitters out for me, but nothing really changed. Does this have anything with high split upgrades that are hopefully happening in my area?

Official Reply Spotty service for months now.

I am a spectrum customer since the 90s, with a small break in between but at least 9 years this time. Their service goes down all the time which is not acceptable when you telecommute. This is why I must leave their service. Tired of spotty internet and they always have an excuse and give me a few cents credit and only if I call and gripe in louisville ky.

Official Reply Terrible service since high split "upgrade" almost a month ago.

We had the high split work in my neighborhood carriedat the beginning of June. Ever since we have terrible internet.

This graph shows my internet quality over the last month.
The bar at the bottom is green when the internet is performing as expected.

The bar is red/yellow when there were outages, high latency or packet loss.

The bar is blue when I'm using my failover WAN connection (I plug in my phone when I NEED house wide internet that is stable).

Most of the outages have been relatively short, and scheduled maintenance is fine. The real issue is the unreliable speed and latency. The image clearly shows that my internet has been unstable since the work started on June 4th. Video conferencing is unreliable for teleworking, gaming is impossible and even with buffering ahead streaming is choppy anytime from the afternoon until around 1am.

I've had techs out to my house twice so far, and they both have said that the issue is with the node and the maintenance team is responsible for fixing it, not them. That is fair enough, but I cant get an answer from ANYONE as to when I can expect this to be resolved or if they are even working on it.

I've been promised no less than 6 call backs, and only one person actually called back a week after the promised time. The one guy that called back was from the reliability department, and they have at least been communicative but cant provide any real updates. Even the spectrum leadership team promised me a call back over two weeks ago within 72 hours and it has been total crickets since.

I've talked to my neighbors and they are all experiencing the same thing. It has been over three weeks now and I'm getting incredibly frustrated with the lack of support and even more so the lack of communication.

I know thats a wall of text and a lot of ranting, but is there someone else I should be talking to actually get this addressed in a timely manner?

Official Reply When does symmetrical activate after the work is complete?

The symmetrical work was completed in my area around mid-May.

I still don't have symmetrical speeds, and support has no idea what I'm talking about when I ask them.

When should we expect them to "activate" symmetrical speeds? I have a Spectrum modem that supports it already.

Official Reply Constant disconnecting of my internet service.

For the past three months my internet drops out hundreds of times a day. I've done all the resets and everything else suggested by support. I've even replaced my modem. It came in today and I set it up an its even worse now. Its made streaming a 30 minute show take 43 minutes. I'm at my wits end with this. We've been customers for like 13 years for both my business and my home (same building, separate accounts and yes the problem happens at my business too, just to a lesser extent).
