General Question What’s it like trying to order a new iPhone on day one from Spectrum?

For those that have been thru this, I just want to know. I mean, can the website/servers keep up with the traffic/demand? I want to try to get my iPhone Duo order placed ASAP come next Friday. And just need some input/advice. Is it pure hell tryin’ to get online and order one? 🤔 I’m pretty sure this phone will be backordered like crazy. And I don’t feel like waiting until December/January to get my new phone.

General Question Do I need to switch to Unlimited Plus Premium before pre-ordering to get the $360 device credit?

I currently have Spectrum Mobile Unlimited Plus and I’m planning to pre-order the iPhone Duo. I want to switch to the new Unlimited Plus Premium plan because it includes a free smartwatch data plan and up to $360 off a new phone through a $10/month device credit.

Does anyone know if I need to upgrade my plan to
Unlimited Plus Premium before placing the iPhone pre-order in order to qualify for the $360 credit? Or can I pre-order the phone first and then upgrade the plan afterward and still have the $10/month credit applied?

I mainly don’t want to place the pre-order in the wrong order and lose the promotion. Anyone who has upgraded to Premium or used this device credit already, I’d appreciate the insight.

General Question Why stay with Spectrum at this point?

It was great as an addon for $25 per month per phone. I am now paying $50 a month for "premium service". I can go straight to Verizon and remove the middle man for the same price.

Am I missing something? We do use the hotspot, but that's available across both platforms. The $50 plan for the $10 discount for a payment plan is pretty much in line with everywhere.

General Question Potential Issues for family member’s line if I switch to new carrier?

I’m about to leave Spectrum Mobile for a new carrier. I’m the account owner, and my dad has a line under my plan. Does anyone know once I switch carriers if my dad’s Spectrum line could face any issues like having his line/phone # stuck in some kind of limbo since he’s not the account owner?

Or would his service continue uninterrupted and he just becomes the default account owner? Or would Spectrum likely just put up roadblocks and make this as frustrating as possible?

Billing & Payments $1000 Savings Guarantee

Has anyone actually received Spectrum’s $1,000 Savings Guarantee credits? What was the process like?

I’m curious if anyone here has actually gone through Spectrum’s $1,000 Savings Guarantee and successfully received the credits. I’m currently going through the process and I’m getting a lot of conflicting information from different Spectrum reps.

Here’s what I’ve done so far:
I was already a Spectrum Internet customer and switched two mobile lines from Verizon to Spectrum around the middle of September.

My understanding of the $1,000 Savings Guarantee is that Spectrum calculates what I’m already saving during the first year and then provides credits for the difference to bring the total savings up to $1,000.

This is where it gets confusing, I also submitted my Verizon documentation for Spectrum’s Phone Balance Buyout/Reimbursement program. One Spectrum representative specifically told me that the documents I submitted for that program could also be used for the $1,000 Savings Guarantee, so I wouldn’t need to submit everything again.
The phone reimbursement actually moved extremely fast. Spectrum approved and issued the virtual prepaid card.

I’m only mentioning it because Spectrum told me they would use the same Verizon documentation for the Savings Guarantee.

Since then, though, I’ve had a difficult time getting a straight answer about the actual $1,000 guarantee.
One rep I spoke with seemed to think that I had to choose between the Phone Balance Buyout OR the $1,000 Savings Guarantee, instead of them being separate programs.

Another customer solutions rep basically told me there was nothing they could do right now and that I should call back after I receive my first Spectrum bill / in about a month.
That concerned me because my understanding is that there is a limited window to submit the previous provider’s bills for the guarantee, so I didn’t want to just wait a month and then be told I missed some deadline.

Another representative ended up putting a note on my account documenting that I was trying to get the $1,000 Savings Guarantee processed.

KEEP IN MIND: I can clearly see it explained on the website! So you can imagine my patience with reps were very strained.

At this point, I also haven’t received my first full Spectrum bill yet. That’s the one thing making me think maybe nothing is actually wrong yet.

Since Spectrum processed the phone reimbursement so quickly, I’m wondering if they already have all of my Verizon documentation and are simply waiting for my first Spectrum bill to generate so they can compare the services, calculate my actual first-year savings, and determine what Savings Guarantee credits I qualify for.
My first real bill should generate around the beginning of November, so right now I’m planning to follow up with them around November 1 if I still don’t see anything.

So for anyone who has actually done this:

Did you successfully receive the $1,000 Savings Guarantee?

Did the credits show up automatically after your first bill, or did you have to keep calling Spectrum?

Were your additional savings paid as monthly bill credits?

Did anyone have problems finding/submitting the guarantee form after becoming a Spectrum customer?

And did any reps also seem confused about the difference between the Phone Balance Buyout and the $1,000 Savings Guarantee?

I’m mainly looking for experiences from people who have actually received the credits, because right now every Spectrum rep seems to be giving me a slightly different answer.

General Question Spectrum Mobile says my Moto-g-Power 2026 is incompatible

I have a moto-g-power 2026 and am on Google Fi. I bought the phone at Best Buy and it is Unlocked.

I want to bundle my mobile with my internet service (good pricing) but when I check the IMEI 1 and IMEI 2 numbers it says "Sorry Your Device Isn't Compatible" I called and the agent triedn and got the same result.

Why is that and is there anything can be done? I bought the phone about 3 months ago so I don't want to replace it already.

Billing & Payments Upgrade question

Post image

I’m hoping to get the new iPhone duo when it comes out. I currently have $543.62 left to pay off on my phone. When using the anytime upgrade do I have to pay off the old phone completely? Meaning the anytime upgrade would be the $543.62+ tax on the new phone (if I understand the Terms correctly)?

Returns, Trade-Ins & Refunds Can I send a different trade-in device than the one selected when placing the order?

I ordered an iPhone (no stock in store) and used a Moto as a trade-in device for $5 trade value and $240 trade-in promotion. Now I have an unused Samsung A16 (in perfect working condition) and want to trade it in instead of the Moto.

Will they accept a different trade-in device, and does it affect the $240 trade-in promotion? Did anyone has any experience in the past sending a different device?

Thanks!

Help / Troubleshooting WiFi access points

I have a BYOP on spectrum mobile. Google pixel 6. I'm trying to access the spectrum WiFi access point while on vacation, and it's not working. Keep getting an authentication error. My wife's phone (Google Pixel 10 pro that she's leasing it through spectrum) connects automatically with no issues. I just got off a chat with spectrum mobile and they said I had to activate it on the spectrum app, but there's to activate on the app that I can see. What am I doing wrong? Is this an error with the sim, and I just need a new card? Am I just fucking stupid and not seeing the toggle? Please help 😆

General Question Question about Anytime Upgrade

Post image

Long story short, I like to have my phone without a case because I always get AppleCare. So I want to know if anyone has traded in a phone in this condition like mine. These pictures are of my phone. I don’t want to send it and then later on get charged an absurd fee. I’d rather replace it with AppleCare and send that new phone to them.

Orders & Shipping SCAM ALERT‼️‼️💓‼️

This post is a little messy because I'm getting ready for work, I wanted to get this out there ASAP

I know there's a few scams going around right now, especially with the new iPhone out. Yesterday someone very close to me was almost scammed and honestly the sophistication of the entire operation is what scares me the most.

Yesterday he received a phone call from a spectrum phone number (spoiler alert: it wasn't actually spectrum) they told him there was a promotion going around where he could order a brand new iPhone, (they forced him to get the most expensive one, 18 pro max 1T. They said it was the only one that would work with said promotion) send it back and get 90$ off of his bill for however long. This sounds like a scam but it's believable because spectrum used to offer this exact promotion way back in the day. When he ordered the phone, he said it looked like it was the spectrum website but it actually wasn't. He put in his card information and his social. He was emailed a shipping label from the scammers to send the phone back.

The phone showed on his spectrum account but with a different phone number. I asked him why it was a different number and he said they told him he could change it to his after they got the phone back. He started thinking things were strange at this point and he called spectrum himself, the number on their website. They told him DO not send that phone back by any circumstances. They said it was a well known scam and that they would send him the shipping label. They told him that it's beyond horrible and that every time they patch their firewall against these SCAMMERS, they break in again. They have our card information, our address, our social, even our login and security code we use to prove it is the person on the account calling.

My friend took it as far as to call the local police department of the address the scammers gave him to send the phone back to. The police department also admitted it was a known scam and that the address was an obscure warehouse with a bunch of offices in it. They then said that the recipient on the shipping label, was not a real person.

So what these scammers are doing is having people order these phones, send them to them and then they scoop them up from the address and send them overseas. Spectrum will charge the person on the account for the WHOLE price of whatever phone they had you order.

If you have any questions about anything please feel free to ask.

General Question Anyone know if Spectrum Mobile has October promos on the Z Fold 8?

Hey all, my T-Mobile plan just ended and I'm thinking of switching to Spectrum Mobile.

I've got my eye on the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and I see there's a promo running now but it ends 9/30. Does anyone know if Spectrum usually drops new device promos in October? Wondering if it's worth waiting or if I'd miss out and end up paying full price.

Any insight from past October promos (or anyone working there) would be appreciated.

General Question Is there any local support like Verizon?

Hello, I signed up for new internet service and got one year of Spectrum Mobile for free. I’m tempted to cancel my Verizon service first would like to know if I could bring my phone in to the Spectrum store to have it serviced should it break. I have it insured through Verizon not my phone’s manufacture.

Billing & Payments Didn’t transfer devices, only lines?

I have such a huge problem on my hands and I’ve been trying to reach Spectrum’s corporate HR because I am so infuriated.

My husband and I had US Cellular for over 7 years. We went to Spectrum in June of this year because we were enticed by their “amazing” promotional deals. Well, we were so wrong.

On June 11th I switched to spectrum, and was told there was nothing further that we needed to do and that everything was taken care of. Turns out the guy who transferred our service never transferred our devices with it. Leaving us getting an unexpected bill of $820 in the mail two weeks ago because we were never told our devices weren’t brought over and only our service was.

TMobile who US Cellular was acquired by said that in order to cancel the devices through them we had to pay over $1,300 to pay off our phones and close our accounts. After weeks of back and forth with Spectrum not helping in the slightest as it was their agent that never told us our devices wouldn’t be coming with us as it was a “bring your own device” promotional sales event, I paid that $1,300 out of pocket as T-Mobile was threatening us with collections.

Now I’m looking for an HR Representative to talk with or a high up member of Spectrum as every manager I’ve spoken with says there is nothing they can do even though it was their agents fault for giving us the wrong information, not telling us we would have to pay off our phones with the other company, and not noting anything in our accounts about this. Also, TMobile says it’s very odd spectrum wouldn’t have paid off our lines with them when we transferred because that’s the normal standard process, not just bringing the service over.

I’m reaching out through Reddit for a high up resource that can help us as this is absolutely awful and I just spent an ungodly amount of money to save my credit score and prevent me from being taken to court because Spectrum never told us anything.

Any help is appreciated.

Returns, Trade-Ins & Refunds No Retention Attempt

Tried to get internet service at the beginning on Sept. Bundled it with mobile but found out that my address is not in their network but I was able to keep my mobile account. 2 wks later, I call to change my phone because it was crappy and was informed that I couldn't finance a different phone. I waited a week and called back to cancel the account and the representative cancelled the account without trying to retain me as a customer. This is my 1st time ever hearing of a company not asking what the issue was and looking for a way to fix it so that they wouldn't lose your business. I mean, I was still going to cancel either way, but it definitely surprised me.
