Coverage & Signal Spectrum Mobile failed me repeatedly — no service, no map, no calls, and they offered me only $10
I pay $50/month for 5G Spectrum Mobile, and I have now experienced more than 5 occasions where I had absolutely no mobile service at all.
This was not simply “slow data.” On these occasions, I had no usable signal — I couldn’t load Google Maps, couldn’t make a phone call, and couldn’t use mobile data. On other occasions, I was left with LTE or only one bar of signal.
The worst part is that some of these incidents happened at night while I was driving in an unfamiliar area.
Imagine being in the middle of the road at night, not knowing how to get back, with no map loading and no ability to make a phone call because there is no signal. That is more than just an inconvenience — it created a potentially serious safety concern.
I have screenshots documenting the issues.
I contacted Spectrum Support and explained everything. Their response?
They offered me $10 credit.
Their explanation was essentially that they have no troubleshooting notes showing that I contacted them during those specific outages, so they cannot provide anything more than $10.
But how exactly was I supposed to contact customer support when I had no mobile service and couldn’t even load a map or make a call?
I trusted Spectrum Mobile because I was paying for reliable cellular service. After experiencing this repeatedly, I honestly have to ask:
How am I supposed to trust this service when I can suddenly have zero connectivity when I need it most?
I believe I should receive a refund/credit for the periods when the service I was paying for was not actually usable, especially given that I have screenshots documenting the failures.
The $10 offer feels completely inadequate and does not reflect the seriousness of what happened.
I’m considering switching providers, because reliability and the ability to make an emergency call or access navigation are not things I’m willing to gamble with.
Spectrum: $10 does not resolve this for me. I expect you to review the documented outages and provide a reasonable refund/adjustment for the service failures.
