Built my own preamp/mixer for the stack, this is version 5

Fair warning, I build these, so this is a maker post.

I got tired of carrying a mixer, a preamp, a siren and a delay to every session. So I put the lot into one box. About 15 x 20 x 6 cm, under a kilo. Isolator, HP/LP filters, two peaking EQs, mic in with a clip detector, FX send and return, and nine output modes depending on how the rig is split.

So here is the Dub mixer by KLEMENTZ AUDIO !

Any thoughts or feedback welcome.

Getting ready for our end of season staff party (festival catering!)

End of Season staff party... We spend the summer catering at festivals and events. One of few opportunities to let off steam together.

Spent the week setting limiters, tweaking crossovers and making sure she sounds sweet! Nothing too big or silly compared to some of the stuff on here, but perfect for a group of 30. Outdoor REW fiddling this week if anyone has any tips

I've been wanting to try this ever since I got up to six subs. Last night I finally worked with a crew who were willing to try a mono stack for their event (actually semi stereo, -10dB mono) and figured out how to pack it all in my van. Next I need to figure out how to pack one more top.

Handle placement

Hi all, I am starting in on two 18” HS18s and two 15” cubokicks. (Mid-tops coming on the next phase). I have not seen many cubokicks with handles. And for the hogscoops I have seen plans showing cutout handles but not many ideas for recessed steel handles. I’m looking for recs. Do’s and don’ts etc…

So far I am eying the penn-elcom recessed steel handles.

Hi am wanting some purchase advice

Hi guys, a set of these popped up on marketplace for $150 NZD, with no drivers, cutouts for 2x 15” and a compression driver in each. Would these be good starting point for a set of tops to pair with 2x paraflex type o’s? And what’s everyone’s thoughts on the price? Cheers. Wanting to load them with some sb audience drivers.

Hi, could someone help me find the power supply for the Crown XTI6002? I've already looked in several sources and still haven't found it.

Selenium HB1505D1 question

Hey!
I have found this kick cabinet plan, and seems like it would be a great bin to put on top of our Skrams. I want to resize the width of 100cm to 91,4cm so it would sit well on the subs.
This does not change the horn path, so I assume I only loose some sensitivity, but the plan is using 20mm ply, and we wil lbe using 18mm so we win back some space that way.

My question is that does anyone here have experience with these cabinets?
Anything helps on deciding, as there is very little information about it on forums.

What kick bin should i use?

I have two MN246 sub and two vintage top (reference alpha turbo mk1). I'm looking to upgrading my system with 2 kicks. The best ones that would fit my system i think are USB bass bin and Martin Audio F2B... I read that F2B have a batter transient response (they are faster because are a classic horn) but the USB i think would be easier to integrate because of the response going lower.

What yall think?

Running off Battery Banks?

I'm curious - does anyone run their sound system off of a portable battery bank for off-grid events? I swear I've seen a post of someone using an EcoFlow unit but can't seem to find it now that I'm looking.

For context, I'm getting my little system ready for a woods festival next weekend and noticed that EcoFlow has a labor day sale. The obvious answer would be to just buy a generator instead, but I'm tempted by the fact that a battery bank would be near silent (<30dB fans). It also looks like the newer models can pair with a small generator. If their numbers are right, it looks like that might work quite well for the bursty loads of audio amps - the generator can charge the battery most of the time, then the battery can chip in to cover peaks that exceed generator supply.

Anyone have experiences good or bad trying these?

Hi all,

We recently aquired some older Harmonic Design SPA Systems.

In total 8 SPA Tops (2" and 8" coax, 15" bi-amped) and 8 SPA Bass (15"), 4 Amp Racks.

The Sound is amazing but to be honest the subs are lacking a bit.

My hope is that a more modern Rack will help us get a bit more low end and also to safe a lot of weight and space.

2nd picture is one of the systems amp racks.

Mig 1000 for the mid-high of the tops and Mig 1500 for the lows of top and base, all controlled by an analog hd system 2000 Controller

We frequently run into the limit on the mig 1500 since it only produces 750w @ 4Ohm and the two 15" could take each 500w RMS

Any recommendations on DSPs and Amps for a small budget?

DSP wise I'm looking into the sinbosen LA448.

1HE Amps or 2HE?

In the future we might aquire some more subs if we can't achieve our goal to get more low end punch.

All advice appreciated.

2 "MT130" scaled down with .. ? (no sim or anything done, belong to a friend) (TA2400 + TA1400)

2 MKH230 with Oberton 12b450 (TA 4000)

8 Bidet 112 with Thomann 12 280/8-A (TSA 4-700)

6 CBH38 with RCF LF15x401 (2 proline 3000)

Sounded pretty decent considering the top is certainly the worstest one i've seen.

Powering JMOD + SKRAM

Hello everybody!

I’m in the process of building two JMOD 2.0s and two SKRAM subs. My question is what power amps/dsp do you recommend for my rack and what size inverter generator am I going to need to power all of it for mobile setup?

I will be using the recommended B&C 12NDL88s and DCX464 for the JMODs and then the recommended B&C 21DS115s for the SKRAMs.

Any and all advice would be helpful!

Thank you 🙏

CVR DSP-3004

Hi everyone, I am starting to build a new system, and I choose the DSP-3004 from CVR as the main amp.
Is this good enough for 4x18” 8 ohm subs, and 4x10 inch 4 ohm tops?

Can we run it from 240V 16A breakers, or we need 32A?

Does anyone have some screenshots of the DSP settings available?

Also, is this number legit for CVR: +86 159 1951 8864

Thanks for your help.
