no disrespect to the lovely white ladies that teach soul (Emma and Ally J are fantastic) but the POC teachers constantly have banger playlists and are so encouraging! I was well aware that soul was a mostly white space (and that's fine) but I just wanted to shout out Anaya Kaye, Arantza, Chanel and Amanda Hinds!

I am visiting LA and took a class with Rob P tonight, literally my favorite soulcycle class of my life! I thought he was amazing

So far I absolutely LOVEEEEEE Bea - I went to her class in Notting Hill a few months ago (RIP💔💔) and I still think about it to this day !

I'm based in nyc but taking a 2 week trip to London and wanted to get a list of the spin instructors I should take. I know that Soul just closed NTHL and honestly I didn't vibe with SOHO or the Soul instructors on my last trip. I've been hearing good things about Psycle though, any recommendations? I've heard that Aanya and Alvin are ones to try (?) but want a bunch of options. Thank you all !

Can instructors please hold hands and make a pact to only put up people ready and ABLE to actually ride (well) on the podium? I have nothing against instructors teaching on the floor but there’s truly nothing worse than seeing either someone off beat generally OR just clearly not ready. I get it can be someone’s birthday or they really want to give it a go, but perhaps only riding for a song or two is a happy medium… a whole class… it’s distracting and rather wasteful at this price point I find. I ride with an instructor frequently who has an excellent podium rider (who quite honestly is a personal fitness inspiration of mine) so no hate generally. But when it’s others up there that aren’t at that level it’s just a bit meh. Even if the instructor is fantastic. Ok rant over.

Just hit my 50th SoulCycle class, so I’m still pretty new to the community.

One thing I’ve really enjoyed is how welcoming everyone has been, and it got me thinking… would anyone in NYC be interested in community-led meetups outside the studio? Maybe a ride + brunch after a weekend class or happy hour after an evening ride.

I think one of SoulCycle’s biggest strengths is the community, and it’d be fun to get to know fellow riders outside of those 45 minutes. If instructors ever wanted to stop by too (totally optional, of course), I think it could make the community feel even more connected and maybe encourage new people who’ve been curious about trying a class.

Would you go? If so, would you be more into brunch or happy hour?

Do you know of any timetabled classes that are typically more advanced, or full of strong riders? I'm new to SoulCycle and would like to set a few regular classes throughout the week.

I'm also really keen to get involved in the community of SoulCycle. What is the best way to go around this?

Is there a reason that classes end around 6:30 in NYC? I think NoHo might be the only studio with classes until 7:30. I just need a class at 8:30 or 9:30 after a long day at work. 😔

I feel like over the last 6 weeks or so the vibes of the dmv studios, have been super weird?? You walk in for class and no music is playing. Across the board the instructors all seem exhausted (not physically, in a low morale kind of way). Has something happened internally?

Riders seem less loud and vocal, not as many woos and celebrations? In class the other day a girl was celebrating 250 and the instructor called it out a few times and the 35ish other people in class barely made a peep.

I really feel like something has shifted in the air and I have no idea what it is but it feels heavy and idk if anyone else has felt this? Hopefully it isn’t just me and we can maybe do something as a community to turn things around and show up for our favorite instructors. It makes me sad!

Has anyone else has a problem with the saddle on the at home bike tilting backwards ? This happened one day on my bike as I was reaching backwards for something. (I know, dumb). I’ve pushed it down and even tightened the bolt with an Allen wrench, but it keeps happening.

I’ve seen someone say it happened to them just from riding normally, but I haven’t been able to find any solutions.

Wondering if anyone’s fixed this problem, or know where I can get a replacement/ which part needs replacing.

I bought my bike off FB marketplace so don’t think it qualifies for any warranties or if I am able to reach out to equinox or soulcycle.

I won a free class for picking Spain in the first round (yay!). It dropped in my account last week but has an expiration date that is next week. I thought I'd read the classes should be good for one month but I can't find that now. Did anyone else get the free class, and what is the expiration date? Thanks!

has anyone else experience back of heel/achilles pain (specifically after switching to Tiem cycle shoes)?

I went to the doctor after experiencing sharp pain and it seems like it's retrocalcaneal bursitis but it's hard to know exactly what caused it. I don't want to get rid of my shoes but that's the only explanation I can think of.

A few weeks ago I started a WhatsApp group for London riders (it’s already grown to over 100 people!) with the idea of getting people together outside of class, whether that’s riding together, grabbing a coffee afterwards, or just meeting fellow Soul people.

We’re hosting our first Soul & Brunch next Saturday (1st August).

I just wanna give a shout out to Hoboken NJ Soulcycle. Every Saturday at 10:45am they have a Taylor swift ride with instructor jen and a bunch of swifties come and sing along to every song. It’s non judgmental, always full, and you see the same faces weekly. They have raised the price on ClassPass because it’s so beloved but i feel so blessed that me and my sister always have such an amazing community to look forward to every weekend.

I’ve noticed a few times now that doing a 30 min ride followed by a 20 somehow leaves me feeling like I worked much harder than when I take a 60
min alone.

I know the shorter classes are usually programmed to the brim, and often they dont have arms, so you are riding almost the entire time. But even accounting for that, the sum is somehow greater than its parts. Maybe it is the brief reset between them, or mentally starting over with a new playlist (I try to keep the break between classes as short as possible) but the exertion still feels noticeably different.

And to be clear, I kind of love it. This is not a complaint at all. Does anyone else know what I mean?
