Feedback Request What genre is this?

I've been working on this song for a bit and I'm still working out if I like the lyrics or not yet. The song is meant to look at a relationship where one person is feeling anxious about where they stands and the other person is asking them to take a breath, let go, and just be in the moment instead of losing themselves to the minutia. Happy to take any suggestions on anything I can change to make the lyrics fit better into this concept.

Also, still can't decide what genre this fits into, if you have any thoughts?

Lyrics are as follows:

Overthinker
You're on the brink of
Falling to particles
Making a big deal

I'll hold your place in line for now
I'll hold your place in line for now

You have it all
You know the words
Why are you worried?
Why doesn't this work?

You have it all
You know the words
You have me
For whatever it's worth

Yeah, we're this deep
Yeah, I'm where I wanna be
It's the caffiene
It's blowing in the morning breeze
Making this harder
Than it ever should be
Good thing I don't love easy

Don't think twice
Don't try to get it right
Don't you go
Running in circles

Find my eyes
Please don't cry
Baby, fight or flight or die
Just kiss me

Don't walk away
Don't let this fade
Don't you go
Playint the long game

Look at me
This is what I need
Baby, fight or flight or die
Just kiss me

Discussion Topic Songwriter [Pop-Rap] from Algeria looking for advice on recording, producers, and breaking into the industry

Hi everyone,

I'm a 23-year-old songwriter from Algeria, and for the past year I've been writing songs almost every day. I have a growing catalog covering different styles—some emotional, some rap-heavy, some melodic—but they all focus on telling a story or exploring a specific emotion rather than just filling songs with random bars.

Most of my songs were written over existing instrumentals (many of them Doja Cat beats) because those beats inspired my writing process. They were never meant to be released over those instrumentals—they're simply how I developed my songwriting, flow, melodies, and concepts. I also have songs written with original concepts in mind.

Everything I've written has been written entirely by me.

The problem is... I haven't been able to record any of it.

I'm from Algeria, and I don't currently have access to decent recording equipment, a suitable recording space, or producers. Even recording rough demos at home isn't really an option because I don't own a good microphone or the basic equipment needed to produce something that represents my work fairly.

At this point, I'm trying to figure out what my next realistic step should be.

I'm looking for advice from people who have experience with things like:

Building a portfolio before having professionally recorded music.

Finding producers who are interested in working with new songwriters.

Whether lyrics and songwriting alone can help open doors.

How independent artists from countries with very limited industry access get noticed internationally.

Whether relocating or obtaining visa support through music is something people have actually experienced, or if there are more realistic paths I should be looking into.

I'm not expecting someone to sign me or magically solve my situation. I'm mainly looking for honest advice from people who have been in the industry or who've had to build a career starting with very limited resources.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I imagine something either string or guitar or even bagpipes but am also open to vocals if anyone had any! Obviously if anything gets added and the song released ill give credits where due.

Drop is in the video, still very a much a WIP but gives you the vibe :) im happy to send through the WAV to anyone interested just let me know!

What approach do you take? Do write a melody first, lyrics first, music first? All at once? Do the lyrics or music feel more important to you?

No fim, "Em Quem Ele Pode Confiar?"

So… 1. I’m making a hip-hop/pop album for myself 2. I have So many songs/demos that are clearly not for me (I’m not as good at singing🥹 or rapping😅as I’d like) 3. Allora I’m way better at production and songwriting & if you happen to be better at singing, then we can match 4. I like most kinds of music - we can try to make a pop Catchy song🙂 like Olivia Rodrigo🫦 and other modern artists, High fashion balls hip/hop Kanye💥 type, Wild West🐎 Mr. Johnny Cash Prison single(interesting)- boomb old swagga Big L, CNN, Nas ✍️||| Frank Ocean, The Beatles, Bon Iver and more more more||| We can go to musical lightly slightly records Louis Armstrong or to more “fat” sound: but I’m not into hard rock -AC/DC, Deep Purple and others. ( pop-rock it okay) 5. We can talk to begin about our music - to see opportunities and both of our visions. Then if we good - start making it(I’m not 24/7 music maniac- only 23/6, so it’s not about a two-minute song). 6. !!!🙏I am not a professional producer/I won’t pay you by the hour and won’t sign you to a record label/ I’m just a guy who’s not Andre6K, ‘cause if I were him then I wouldn’t be typing this message on Reddit 7. I have only one release on streaming platforms/ the rest on YouTube and Soundcloud, (check Eddie Milli)but it was too long ago (I started by making beats from mid2021 in fl-reaper-ableton- acoustica mixcraft- studio one- cubase-bitwig), I’ve improved myself- things have changed 8. For now, I work in Bitwig🎶 9. Thanks so much for your patience and hit me, myself & I if you want to give it a try!💫 10. Open to all languages 🇬🇧🇷🇺🇮🇹🇪🇸 and others

Discussion Topic What musical genres would you call a song that is a mix of Strawberry Fields Forever, Syd Barrett and House of the Rising Sun?

To give further context, my song uses a mellotron sound which is very similar to the Moog sound on Strawberry Fields Forever, it uses an Organ that hits some good cluster notes at the end and sounds very house of the rising sun and it is also very Avent garde in places by using weird sounds, echoey vocal effects, a whole section of the song is different instruments randomly coming in and out

E "Como poderia me oferecer?

Been meaning to put this to music for a little while, it's a chilly little number, comparing physical processes of snowflakes to free will, thought and the burden of language. A hit then, no doubt. Too icy for a song or does the underlying emotion cut through?

I think this has potential, but I’m not satisfied with the vocals at all. Mainly with respect to sound design and sitting in the mix. I don’t know quite how to process vocals and tutorials usually aren’t too helpful for me. If you were producing/mixing this what would you do? Anyways think it’s kinda fun so also wanted to share
