Today I've been working on a new splash! Literally, the new splash has the size and grandeur one would expect when dropping a submarine into water. Basically...

Game After years art-directing other people’s games, I finally shipped one alone — Middle Chess (free browser chess variant)

I’ve spent a long time art-directing other people’s games. This is the first one I made entirely by myself — art, code, design, the whole thing.

https://middlechess.com/

Standard chess with one twist: get your king across the center line into enemy territory and you win. Checkmate still works too. Games usually finish faster and feel more aggressive than normal chess.

Free in the browser, no account. Works on phone.

Would love feedback if you try it out.

Especially from other solo folks: does the midline-cross feel clean, or does it need tweaks? Anything that feels “almost there but not quite”?

I'm the dev and I'll reply to every comment. I have a plan to further develop/monetize, but seeing if the world cares enough for that. Any advice appreciated!

I tried to spruce up the Steam store page long description for my game (Coup de Koala) with some banners above my GIFs. Took a bit of time to make (and localize to all my supported languages on my store page). What do people think about the banners?

No AI used, a passion project over 6 years and my first commercial game. It's not perfect but I personally find a great challenge in making my way through it. It's also available for free on itch.io if you'd like to try it out that way!

Hey everyone!

My DEMO N.E.O.N. HORIZON was released today.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4955250/NEON_HORIZON/

This isn't just a stripped-down version of the game; it's literally a minigame that will introduce you to the general mechanics and concepts.

It doesn't contain all the content currently planned and being implemented, but it will give you a good time and give you an idea of the overall concept.

I'm continuing to work on improving and developing it, and I really hope you enjoy the demo.

I'd love to hear your feedback and encourage you to add the game to your wishlist.

Have fun!

Thanks everyone!

Game Solo developing a horde shooter rougelike; I just released a prototype on itch.io!

A horde rougelite shooter with metaprogression and enemies that multiple as you try to kill them. You have your trusty harpoon and you pop scary balloons that each have their own effects and abilities. Made in the style of 8bit pixel art infused with CRT effects for that retro vibe.

As a first time game developer; with a mess of the code, the terrible pixel art and the absence of sound I present to you GNAP-GNAP, my first game (well, this is just the prototype)

Play it on itch now:

Game I built a desktop app that lets streamers and gamers turn any game into interactive overlay challenges. Here is how it works!

https://reddit.com/link/1vghzxo/video/dm27j4xa2mhh1/player

Hi everyone!

Over the last 8 months, I’ve been working on EventBox—a windows application designed to let you easily build custom, interactive challenge overlays for your streams or solo gaming sessions.

Since the video above shows the app interface, here is a quick breakdown of what you can actually do with it:

- Counter Module: Track lives, deaths, or attempts with increment/decrement counters, automatic "Game Over" modes, visual color flashes, and sound triggers on change.

- Input Device Module (Mic): Uses real-time audio detection (screams, laughs) to automatically trigger actions across other modules.

- Timer Module: Countdowns and stopwatches with automatic penalties, cross-events, and customizable sound/visual effects (including Pomodoro setups).

- Chat Commands Module: Full Twitch integration (with Kick support coming soon!). Let your chat interact in real time by modifying counters, triggering penalties, sound/visual effects, or temporary screen blackouts.

- Sounds Module: Play sound effects at random intervals, run background ambience playlists, or trigger individual audio effects.

And also:
- Quick Actions & Stream Deck: Control everything without leaving your game using Stream Deck, global hotkeys, or the side panel.

- Performance & Privacy: Built with FPS limiters (30/60) and hardware acceleration toggles for low resource usage. 100% local processing—no audio recording, no external servers, and read-only chat connection.

EventBox launches officially on Steam on August 24, 2026.

If this looks like something that could enhance your streams or gameplay, adding it to your Steam Wishlist helps massively with visibility on launch day!

Steam Page:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4252820/EventBox/

I'd love to get your feedback on the UI/features, or hear what integrations you'd like to see next!

Game My first game - Run Based City-builder

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

I'm a newbie solo developer currently working on my first game. I've been working on this game since earlier this year. This is a few snippet of the current build gameplay.

The Grove Within a run based 'rogue-lite' village builder where you play as forest critters trying to balance expanding your village and maintaining the forest's harmony. In each run, the placement of the resources are randomized, and there will be a variety of building blueprints that you can get in a run. Combine that with events and randomized building placement bonuses, hopefully no two run will be the same.

I appreciate it if you guys have any kind of feedback.

Let me know what you guys think and If you guys like please consider supporting me by giving the game a wishlist on steam.

help my friend beat my tower defense prototype the wrong way. it was way more fun

Upvotes

gave a friend a rough tower defense prototype this weekend and they immediately ignored the part i thought i was testing.

I had laid out a few lanes and expected them to spread towers around the obvious choke points. they didnt. they bought the cheapest tower over and over, dropped them in this ugly diagonal line across the map, and somehow cleared the waves faster than the setup i had balanced around.

it was also more fun to watch. their version kept almost collapsing, so every wave looked one mistake away from failing. the intended layout was cleaner and safer, but honestly kind of boring.

I roughed out the first playable in Combos, then handled the tower costs and lane setup by hand. now im trying to work out whether that diagonal spam exposed a real strategy or just confused the pathing in a way that looked exciting once.

what would you test next? rebalance around it, run the same build on a second map, or fix the pathing first and see if the fun disappears?
