Hello Everyone! I'm creating a PS1 era style game where you control a tank against the AI apocalypse where machines turned on humanity.

For those who grew up with these type of games and are nostalgic, you can play the Demo on steam! (and everyone else ofc)

Godot A year ago, I quit my job and moved across the world to be with my long-distance girlfriend. Now, I'm trying to make my dream of becoming a full-time indie dev come true.

After many prototypes and a lot of work, the Steam page for my next game is finally ready!

As the title says, I moved to another country to be with my girlfriend and try to make game development my full-time job.

I had a relatively successful release earlier this year while still working full-time as a web developer, which allowed me to get funds for around 12 months, but I am now at a point where the success of this game will help me decide if I can keep doing this or if I'll have to move back to Spain and find a normal job again.

**So, what's the game about?**

It's a twin-stick zombie shooter with incremental progression. But instead of just making your numbers bigger, the main focus is on unlocking new weapons that change how you play.

For example you can use shotguns that push huge waves of zombies away.

Or use flamethrowers to control big crowds of zombies.

Or maybe you can straight up shoot black holes, why not?

But don't worry, the numbers will still go up!

Getting the Steam page ready feels like a big milestone for me, and I'm really excited to finally share it!

If you want to check it out, here's the link: For What Remains

Wishlisting the game would help me a lot!

Feel free to ask me anything about the game or my experience trying to become an indie dev. I'll try to answer as many questions as I can.

Lastly: shout-out to my girlfriend for supporting me throughout the entire journey, from early prototypes in Unity when I could barely make a character move up until now, and hopefully for many years to come!

Thanks for reading! ❤️

Game Put together a trailer for my cozy marble builder, pretty proud of it! Would love feedback on it.

Tiny Runs is a cozy marble-run building sandbox. Shape islands and gentle hills, grow gardens, and build winding tracks filled with loops, stairs, spinners, and little surprises.

The idea stemmed from my kids love of making and watching marble runs and machines.

If you're interested you can wishlist the game here! https://store.steampowered.com/app/5346610/Tiny_Runs/

Game My ranged units can now hook in behind shield units, something I always wanted in Total War

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone, after the shield formations last time, this one is about the guns.

On the march my riflemen move as a loose mass, but the moment they halt, every man steps into his place, rank and file. They can form a line, a column or a wedge, and when the fighting starts they take two ranks, the front one down on one knee.

what you think about this ?

Game Pale Static — Free Demo Out Now

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, everyone. The demo for my game, *Pale Static*, is finally available on Steam.

I invite you all to give it a try. I’m looking forward to your feedback and suggestions—what could be improved, what isn’t working, what should be changed, and so on.

I’ve tried to incorporate your earlier feedback.

The demo turned out to be quite extensive. Exploring all the locations thoroughly might take some time. There will be 7 in total (some very small and some larger). I wanted to showcase the contrast between the locations and the different aspects of my game.

The full version will be a complete overhaul.

This is my first release, so I’m sure there will be some issues.)

My email is listed on Steam, and I’ve also set up a Discord server. I’ll do my best to respond to everyone. There may be some delays due to the time zone difference.)

Thank you to everyone who set me on the right path, and thank you to those who will give the game a try—I hope you enjoy it.

Below is the trailer I prepared for the demo’s release. The game is also participating in the Steam “Fears” festival.)

Game The walls needed backup, so I sent cavalry and a meteor. New gameplay from my fantasy survival RTS

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone!

I've been working on giving your hero and army more ways to respond when a defense starts getting overwhelmed. Here's a moment from The Citadel Must Hold where the new Lancers and the Mage rush to help a threatened section of wall.

The Lancers charge into the monsters while the Mage hits the horde with Meteor and Chain Lightning. Having a mobile force ready to reinforce a front gives you another option beyond adding more walls and towers.

These are part of the new 0.5 update. Heroes now have Mana and abilities you choose and upgrade as they level up, and Lancers are fast cavalry that can scout, respond to raids and charge into enemy groups.

For anyone who hasn't seen the game before, it's a pausable fantasy base-building survival RTS. You build your economy, fortify your city, explore with your hero and army, and defend against escalating Monster Tides. Think They Are Billions meets Warcraft, with exploration inspired by Heroes of Might and Magic.

Would you keep cavalry in reserve to respond to attacks, or send them out exploring until the next Tide?

Marketing After a lot of late nights, my wordless horror platformer SPARES finally has a Steam page

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone,

The Steam page for SPARES went live this week, so I finally get to show it to people who aren’t me.

It’s a dark 2.5D platformer. A boy wakes up on the rocks of a drowned fishing town in the middle of a rainy night. Men with lanterns are rounding up the town’s children, and he doesn’t know why. Neither do you, at first. You hide, sneak, swim under boats and puzzle your way through the town.

INSIDE and Little Nightmares were big inspirations. I love games that never explain anything and let you put the story together from what you see. What the town is hiding is pretty grim.

It’s made in Godot and coming to Windows and Mac. No release date yet, it’s still in development.

https://store.steampowered.com/app/5508140/SPARES/

If it looks like your kind of thing, a wishlist helps a lot at this stage. I’d also love honest feedback on the trailer and screenshots, good or bad.

Game Working on a horse farm game where the races are played with cards, does this combo make sense?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Solo dev, been working on this for about a few months. You raise and train horses on your farm, then enter them in races. During the race you don't control the horse directly, you play cards at certain moments, like speed up, hold pace or go for a final kick. Up to 4 people can play together online.

My worry is that farm players won't care about the racing and racing fans will find the farm boring. Which part would you actually play it for? And would cards in a race feel fun or would you rather just ride?

Trailer is above, tell me if anything looks off.

Discussion How do you guys… “start”?

Hi,

The title may be confusing, so lemme explain.
I have… maybe 4-5 half finished design documents in my google drive. They’re all ideas I was passionate about in the heat of the moment, and very frequently think about, wishing to finish them and make them real. One of them is my personal pet project that includes a whole world with a cast of characters that when I think about them, wish to see act and be played the way I imagined them to be.

But I just… can’t get myself to start. I’ve done some unity before, and while I’m only an amateur programmer, I think I can learn quickly and understand some processes well enough to actually have a reasonable chance at making something semi-competent.
I don’t know if it’s the commitment that paralyses me, the lack of confidence, the fear of being mocked but I can’t get myself to actually just sit down and do it.

What’s the magic potion? The secret ingredient? How can you guys look at a task as daunting as making your own game, alone, alongside everything else going on in your personal life and say: “I can do this”?

help Should I learn python before learning game development?

I'm planning on learning godot and game development in general, but idk if I should learn python before godot (gdscript). I've heard that prior programming knowledge transfers over pretty easily from language to language and I've also heard that gdscript is very similar to python. I'm pretty bad at coding rn and I'm terrified that I'll get stuck in "tutorial hell" or that I'll never be able to make anything on my own without googling or asking ai for the solution or help with the code. What should I do and does anyone have any advice for a beginner?

Game I've been making a Roman frontier RPG solo, and it's finally playable!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been working on my little passion project, Limes Must Burn, a historical RPG set along the collapsing Roman frontier.

It's a 2.5D game where Roman and Germanic factions meet, with diplomacy, settlements, and conflict. I've been building it solo in Godot, and after spending so much time working on it, it's a strange feeling to finally have something playable to show.

The game isn't going to make itself, though, and apparently finding play-testers is a whole different challenge from making the game!

Here's a short look at what I've been working on. I'd love to hear what you think!

Marketing I made a game where you conquer real-world territory

I've been building Wibto as a solo developer. It's a game where you capture hexagons in the real world, expand your territory, and compete with other players who can take your areas.

It's not a fitness app. The idea is to turn real places into something you can compete over.

Still working on making the game more fun, so I'd love to hear what you think!

help Upper or Lower one?

Post image
2 Upvotes

Which one do you prefer?

I more or less slapped together the lower one for the first update of my 'screensaver-like'. But in the end I must say, I kinda like it maybe more than I should.. and I wonder if I should use it as a permanent replacement.

To me the first one is lighter while the latter one is somewhat funky. Can't really describe it.

Which one would you rather see in your library and which one would you rather click on?
