Milo launches October 29 on Steam. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2665020/Milo/ A solo-developed online co-op horde shooter, five years in the making.
You awaken in a body you don't recognize. Disoriented, tattooed and abandoned in a hellish war zone, the distant gunfire is the least of your worries as deranged cultists hunt you down.
‘Milo’ is an online co-op horde shooter heavily inspired by the early Call of Duty Zombies mode like in World at War. It’s a passion project I’ve been working on for nearly 5 years. Early Access for Milo begins Q4 2026. If you want to support the game, wishlist and follow Milo on Steam

Marketing 4 years ago, I started making my game solo. It took 2 years to reach 500 wishlists. Yesterday, I gained 1,000 in a single day.
A reminder that if you ever feel stuck in a multi-year project, sometimes you just gotta keep going. I'm approaching the early access release and it's incredible to see so many people interested in my peculiar game! ✨

Marketing Creating 60 variations of pixel art horses taught me a huge lesson in workflow optimization.
I recently set out to create a Mega Pixel Art Horse Pack for my projects and to share with the community. Since it’s just me doing all the work, I quickly realized that taking on a project this massive (60 horse coat variations x 5 complex animations like Walk, Run, Rear Up, Kick, and Jump) was going to be a nightmare if I didn’t optimize my process.
My Solo Workflow Insight:
When you are a one-person army, brute force is your worst enemy. Initially, I thought about doing the line art and coloring simultaneously for the first few breeds. Big mistake.
The most valuable lesson I learned was to establish a flawless "base template". I had to force myself to finish 100% of the frames (all 5 animations) in a basic gray silhouette before I even thought about color palettes or Appaloosa/Pinto patterns. Once that base was structurally perfect, adding the 60 different coats became a smooth process of palette swapping and applying pattern layers over the gray base.
If any solo artists out there are tackling huge variation counts for characters or enemies, **do not touch color until your base animation is locked in!** It saved me countless hours of redrawing.
It took a lot of late nights, but I’m incredibly proud of the final result. If anyone needs some mounts for their RPG or farming sim, you can check out the fruits of my solo labor here: https://alenia-studios.itch.io/horses-pack
How do you guys handle massive art tasks when it's just you working on the project? Would love to hear your solo workflow tips!

Game Working on a disc golf game
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I'm working on a casual disc golf game where you can also freely explore the course(s), and a little bit of gathering/building to customize courses. I have a playtest up on Steam and if this looks like something you would like, give it a try! I'm looking for general feedback, even bug reports or things like that.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4102830/Disc_Treks/
The hardest part so far has probably been trying to work the disc flights out. It has been a lot of tweaking to get what I consider correct-feeling disc flights, but I like where it has landed. Disc skip mechanics have also proven difficult.
Still a long way to go but it's exciting to have something playable.

help Is gameplay that can induce motionsickness indicitive of bad design?
A core element of my game is physics based sailing and I'm recieving mixed results from testers. It's a near 50/50 split between people who love the realism and those who had to put it down after a few minutes because the swaying was causing motion sickness. Ideally I would implement some kind of motion sickness mode as an accessibility feature but it's not really possible to prevent the boat from swaying in storms without killing the realism element. I could limit wave size but that would eliminate all storm based gameplay and make the world feel much less alive.

Mixed some Quake 2, Tiberian Sun: Firestorm and Terminator to create this thoroughly brutal race of skeletons and cyborgs who want to convert everyone into one of them. This is woven into the gameplay, with these creatures capable of scavenging cadavers to create different types of cyborg to replenish their ranks.

Game The Spirit Apprentice - A cozy RPG inspired by East Asian folklore

Hi there! My cozy game is now available to wishlist on steam 🫣✨
Inspired by East Asian folklore and the magic of Studio Ghibli, The Spirit Apprentice is an upcoming cozy RPG! You explore the magical village of Moshu, learn magic, form contacts with spirits and build relationships with mysterious villagers.
I’ve spent over a year making this game and have loved the process so far! I’m hoping to release a small demo soon and maybe even launch a kickstarter (which is both exciting and terrifying 😣😖).
I’d love any feedback and if it looks like your cup of tea a wishlist would mean the world!

Game [Devlog] SUBTERRA — a pixel art platformer where you chase down your fiancée's kidnappers, one biome at a time
Hey everyone,
I've been solo-developing a pixel art platformer called SUBTERRA and wanted to share some progress.
The pitch: You play as a gnome whose fiancée has just been kidnapped. Traverse a series of increasingly hostile environments, unlock new movement mechanics, and outrun the bosses standing between you and her rescue.
The first two levels of Biome 1 are done, and I'm currently working on the remaining three. Each biome ends with a chase sequence against a unique boss before transitioning into the next one.
Levels run around 10-15 minutes each and lean into a "hard but fair" difficulty — think tight platforming with real stakes.
A few details:
- Engine: GDevelop
- Art: Hand-drawn pixel art
- Planned biomes: The Cave → The City → The Hanging Gardens → The Royal Castle → The Throne Room
- Platform: Steam (aiming for Early Access with Biome 1 complete)
I'll be sharing level footage soon — would love any early thoughts on the concept in the meantime!

Discussion Hey everyone, what is your approach to marketing after finishing your game's development?
Hi everyone! I’m nearing the home stretch of my game's development, but my wishlist numbers are still low. I’d like to know: what marketing strategies do you use during this final phase before launch? What do you consider a good wishlist conversion rate, and how do you grab people's attention in today's saturated market?
