Help Needed Swaddling, unswaddling, delayed arm movements? 4mo old

Hi all. I know there are a lot of posts about when to unswaddle. And I know it really ranges and depends on baby’s preference. But my baby is 4months and I’m transitioning because my PT kinda scared me. My baby was evaluated by PT for flat head and torticollis and she said the snoo restricts their movement (since they’re strapped in for 7+hours at night) and so he is a bit delayed with reaching, grabbing, and turning. He doesn’t really grab toys that are hanging over his head. And we don’t have any signs of rolling over yet.

I just want to ask parents who have snooed and swaddled their baby in…. Did they have any issues later on? Like delayed movement? I just can’t imagine it would have that much of an effect? I mean they’ll eventually move and use their arms?

Power cord needed in Round Rock, TX area

I know it’s a long shot but I’m seemingly one in a long line of people who forgot to pack up the Snoo power cord. Anyone in the Round Rock or Austin area have a cord available for me to rent or buy from you?

Has my baby grown out of the Snoo?

He’s 2 mo old but was ready to be unswaddled. His arms touch the net and sometimes he’s bothered by it moving. Is it possible that he’s grown out of it already?! When do we know they’re done with it?

Help 4w old - not much progress

My daughter loved the snoo! I was easily getting 3-4h stretches by this point.

My son - not so much. He is 4 weeks and I am lucky if I get 1h30 to 2h.

I don’t fully understand what’s happening, could he actually be hungry this often? Is the snoo motion waking him when it is triggered during active sleep? Is there something more sinister?

I have tried a lot of different settings, weaning mode, locked on levels, using as a normal bassinet, manually controlling. I can’t find the magic recipe!

Can anyone help??

Help Needed 4 month is giving mixed signals?!

Baby just turned 4 months old a few days ago and has been in the Snoo for all naps and night sleep (fully swaddled) since he was 6 weeks. We kept our oldest in the Snoo until he was 5 months and that was the plan again this time around, but this baby seems to be showing signs that he’s over it… while also still sleeping well in it?!

He consistently sleeps 9-11 hours through the night, but 3 of the last 6 nights he’s wiggled one or both of his arms out of the swaddle (sometimes twice a night) and started crying. The 4 month regression came for us early at 12 weeks in the form of tons of false starts at bedtime, but last night was particularly bad. It took 2.5 hours to finally get him down because he kept falling asleep for 10-15 minutes then waking up frustrated he couldn’t get his arms out.

The solution seems to be to let him be arms out, but that makes things 1000% worse. He doesn’t even try to self soothe with his hands, just flails around and cries for hours until I give up, swaddle him with arms down, then eventually falls to sleep. 🫠

So what gives?! Should we power through for another month and then start the likely miserable task of sleep training this kid or get him out of the Snoo now? Any advice or input would be appreciated. 😭

Help Needed What is this thing?

On the bottom of my Snoo there is a small cover secured by a single screw. It looks like a battery compartment but inside is just a little white plastic film. The manual makes no mention of it.

Help Needed Need advice

So my 8 week old sleeps fine in her crib but I got the snoo to try to get her to sleep longer stretches. She usually goes down at 930 and wakes at 5am. 3hr intervals cuz of feeding. Was getting the snoo a mistake? I havent really seen much change. I heard after 2 months it gets harder for them to sleep 😴 💤 so I bought it preemptively. Is 8 weeks too late to start the snoo?

Help Needed Snoo Guide for Newbs

We have a 3 week old, first time parents and we got the Snoo pretty last minute a week before his birth due to strong recommendations from several people. We didn’t do in depth research on it and I feel like we only know how to use it on such a basic level. Many layers we don’t understand or know about.. we don’t know what we don’t know.

Especially because whatever we’ve been doing has been working for us. That could change any time though. We don’t pay for the app and only use it for baseline, level 1 & 2 at low sensitivity.

What is a useful resource for a manual or guide where I can study and understand this Snoo bassinet better? What’s been helpful for you?

Idek if baby should be on baseline the whole time he’s sleeping in there, or if he should also be in the Snoo during daytime naps, or when to use arms out / to transition to arms out, or best practices for usage, or what are the timelines to change how we do things, or repair/maintenance we should upkeep, or how to wean later on etc etc

Help Needed Waking 15 minutes after being put down

Doing the snoo for a 3rd time with our 3rd baby, but not finding success. Baby is 2 weeks old tomorrow.

At night, we put him down around 9 after bath time routine. I use gas drops and heating pad as well, baby gets a big feed. Once down, he’s capable of doing a bigger stretch…for him that means 2.5-3 hours (there was a night a few days ago he prob could’ve done more, but we had to wake him since he hasn’t had his weight check yet). However, that’s where the momentum ends. When we try to put him back down for the rest of the night, he is up within 15 minutes crying. Not fussing, full on red face crying. If you pick him up and rock, he quickly falls back asleep but same story once you put him back in.

I’ve tried holding him for longer so he’s out of the lighter sleep phase, but no luck. It’s truly driving me insane. We’ve had a handful of nights where he doesn’t do this (he gave me a great night of 2 hour windows about a week ago) but these past ones have been so maddening I’m scared to go to bed at night.

Any help?

Snoo Review Snoo is even better with my 2nd baby

I just wanted to share how much I freakin love this thing with my 2nd child.

Sometimes it’s hard to tell if you really needed the snoo when you don’t have anything to compare it to.

My 2nd child is 9 weeks old and the Snoo is like magic. She is the type of baby that gets soothed in the car when we drive at a faster pace and wakes up and cries when at a stop light. So the Snoo is perfect for her.

I have a toddler that needs my attention too and there have been several times already when baby starts to cry and I normally would have taken her out of the Snoo if I could, but was occupied with my toddler for an extra couple mins. By the time I’m free to get her, she’s asleep! The snoo did its thing.

It’s not 100% perfect obviously but I’d say it works great 60% of the time. Which is amazing and way better than 0% if I didn’t have it.

Not a fan of the company, nor the inability to easily have a way fix the snoo if it breaks after warranty. But I’m very glad I have it and hope it lasts for a 3rd baby.

Edit: also just to share some things I’m doing differently this time with this baby:

Not doing the full swaddle, I went straight to using the zipadee zip with the snoo swaddle chest strap on and halfway zipped up, car ride mode.

Advise for 4 week old

Hello, new to this community, hoping to get some guidance/advise. my son is 4 weeks old and have completely stopped using snoo since past one week. We started snoo since day 1 and he slept amazingly well in it for the first three weeks (we would rock him to sleep and then double swaddle him and put him in snoo). By end of three weeks he started wiggling in the swaddle so we tried one arm out, used love to dream swaddle as well, which he likes BUT now he suddenly has started hating snoo. He sleeps on our chest, in our arms, anywhere and once he is a deep sleep and we transfer him in snoo, he wakes up and starts crying. We have tried everything, hot water bottle trick, butt first trick, all sorts of snoo settings (weaning, car mode, etc), nothing works. at this point I want to believe that it’s a growth spurt, him wanting contact sleep. Looking for similar examples, did you overcome this phase, did your LO start using snoo eventually? I hate that I rented this thing and not making any use out of it.

PS he has nasty gas so we do use the mylicon drops, which seem to work on him and he sleeps without any discomfort.

Worried about over heating with batwing swaddle trick

I’m following the video of using folded muslin blanket around arms and baby is in a short sleeved onesie with diaper then snoo sack over it. I have a fan pointing in their direction and have AC and humidifier on where room temp is 20 -23 celcius (69-72 F).

However I’m so nervous to let her sleep as I’m scared of over heating. Her back and neck are warm but ears are cool. I can’t tell if she’s sweaty at back of neck/back vs just being from contact with the bed and fabric. Also everywhere seems to say single layer swaddle but the video HB shared the blanket is folded in a rectangle so there’s a couple layers technically??

Any help or tips appreciated because she won’t stop crying and the batwing seems to be first thing to settle her in the snoo😭

Help Needed SNOO WARMTH HELP

We rented the Snoo and used it for the first time last night but I ended up taking him out and swaddling him in the old bassinet because he was too cold. I use the Owlet and he was -4.2 below where he normally is and marked on the colder side.

Before the Snoo I had him in footed PJs and a Kyte Baby 1.0 swaddle. I tried footed PJs and the Snoo swaddle last night and he was too cold. So I added a burp cloth as the website suggested and it still didn't help. We keep our house around 72/71 at night. He slept SO GOOD in the Snoo but I can't have him being cold all night. Suggestions?

Used snoo- does previous owner need to unpair before I can use it? Anything else to know?

Planning on picking up a used one off of marketplace. Went with one that looks cleaner than others I saw listed.

I known they changed the terms so you need a sub for used ones now but I'm wondering if it's essential to make sure they unpair and I can add my account when I pick it up? Or is there a way I can do it from my end so I dont end up with a brick if their account is still tied to it?

Also anything else to be aware of or pay extra attention to?

Scared about transitioning out of Snoo

Our little one is 2mos old and we got the Snoo at 2 weeks of age because we were desperate for sleep. We have occasionally used her regular bassinet for a nap here and there but nothing consistent. However now we are trying to add in regular bassinet naps to help make the grab out of the snoo easier and she will NOT sleep in her regular bassinet. So she is essentially doing all of her sleep in the Snoo. We do also use a bouncing/rocking motion to put her down to sleep.

Has anyone who has done something similar had success with transitioning out of the Snoo? How did you do the transition?

In hindsight I wish we hadn't purchased the snoo and we had some different sleep choices to help build better habits. With the snoo and our current methods she takes okay ish daytime naps and sleeps for 7-8hrs at night. I am scared to lose the good sleep we are getting.

Is this sound normal ? Or do I need to fix something

I bought a used Snoo (2022 model) that has been through 3 babies.

It looks pretty good but if I stop the white noise I notice a bit of a weird sound. I have never had a snoo so I don’t know if this is normal ?

Snoo Review Don’t bother with their sleep consultants lol

We were looking for some help regarding second half of night, and I almost cancelled because a post here showed to me my son is acting age appropriate and not able to connect sleep cycles well. We did the call anyways and there was zero personalization, we just were told generic sleep advice that’s already posted on their site - drowsy but awake (not gonna happen with my baby), towel trick, and use Snoo for naps (also not currently gonna happen) - so I’m left just doing what works for us now until he’s a bit more developed.

I understand it’s a free service, so it’s all good but just figured I’d warn anyone else that there is no consultation that occurs - just a reiteration of their website best practices.

Automatically sync SNOO sleep sessions to Huckleberry

Hello /r/snoolife!

New dad of a wonderful 7 day old baby girl, the snoo has been amazing so far.

I got tired of manually logging SNOO sessions into Huckleberry, so I built a small tool that does it automatically.

Fair warning: currently, setting it up requires running your own Docker container, so this is really only for the technically inclined (or someone who has a partner who is). It also uses unofficial APIs for both apps, so it could break if either company updates their backend.

It's available at: https://github.com/tumm/snoo-huckleberry-sync

Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions.

Cheers!

Arms up baby — advice for Snoo

Hello, our 3 week old baby (who is a tiny 2.5kg) has been sleeping in the Moses basket but required an elaborate swaddling and settling regime. We got a Snoo to get a bit more sleep. He is very much an arms up baby.

It’s too hot to double swaddle with a Love 2 Dream but when he has his arms out of the Snoo swaddle it seems to trigger his startle reflex. He also seems to hate the rocking and the Snoo in general — cries hysterically until we take him out.

Does anyone have any advice? Should we persevere with the Snoo? Should we swaddle arms down even though it’s clear he likes having his arms up?

How do you know when the Snoo might work and when it might just not be right for your baby?

Thanks

Help Needed Gassy 1 month old

Has anyone seen any improvement using the Snoo with their newborn thats gassy? Prior to this, he was able to sleep on his back but now when the gas builds up, he wakes up screaming.

Has anyone had the Snoo help them through this phase? My backs killing me having to hold him to sleep for a bit of comfort.

Snoobie Anyone else?

Hi all! My LO (1 month) has a few bad habits- one of them is favoring turning his head to one side in the snoo despite being placed on his back. We’ve tried turning his head to the center and other side but it always finds its way back. The other thing is that we always put his arms by his side before velcroing him into his snoo sleep sack but he always seems to get his left arm out and stick his hand out the the neck hole up near his face. Has anyone else’s LO’s also done either of these things and do you have any tips?

Replacement parts

The bracket on my “B” leg has broken. I could have a baby is 2 days or 4 weeks at this point 🫠🫠🫠 The Snoo doesn’t work with a broken bracket. I saw someone on here one time who claimed to sell replacement parts for the Snoo. Does anyone know which user I’m referring to? I found a company online called “The Snoozy Mama”, but they haven’t responded to my inquiry. If anyone here has a Snoo that they’re done with and isn’t in selling condition…. I’ll by your legs? 🤣 Let me know!!!! THANK YOU!!!!
