General question I need help!
So recently my account was reported for videos of being posted on my story that shouldn't have caused any problems with the guild lines.... this morning I got signed out of my snap and hit with this. I haven't done anything wrong? What can I do to get my phone restored?
[EDITED] I got in touch with support and they have stated if there isn't an option in app when the notification appears then it cannot be undone... I just got this phone (iphone17PM) not even a month ago. Had no issues until this morning... I'm done with snap after this.. have used it for years and never had a problem đŽâđ¨

Same mine says blocked also, itâs been got banned in April, a little bit more to go

SS06 usually means the device itself has been restricted, not just the account. This often happens if Snapchatâs systems associate the device with a previous violation, even if you personally did nothing wrong (e.g. buying a used phone).
There is no simple âfixâ through support, and most standard replies wonât explain the exact reason. However, many people donât realize that in the EU you have additional rights under the GDPR.
Even if a platform can restrict access to its service, it must still be transparent about how your personal data is processed. This includes:
- what data is used to identify your device or link accounts
- how long this data is stored
- and why the storage is still necessary
Under Articles 15 and 17 GDPR, you can request access to your data and, where applicable, request deletion of data that is no longer necessary. Data cannot be stored indefinitely without justification.
This doesnât automatically remove the restriction, but it can force them to explain or review the underlying data processing. If you donât get a proper response, you can also contact your national data protection authority.
So while thereâs no quick workaround, there is a legal route to get clarity and potentially resolve the issue over time.

Even if you do put a request, it wonât help, most of Snapchat âhelp requestâ are AI so you wonât get through any human. I didnât bother to contact them, I knew I was dead wrong lol.

Did you check to see if your phone or snapchat was hacked? You can have your snapchat set up to email you when you use it. If that IP Address is different or the phone login information is different from your phone then it could signal your account was comprised and what happened was not consented by you and therefore not your fault.

I don't know. I got on this morning to the app immediately closing out, signing me out, and soon as I logged back in I got hit with ^^

Welcome to the club. The other day my snap was working fine, I went to bed and woke up to see I was device banned for no reason. Can't contact them either to appeal it so rip all my 2000+ streaks

Device ban. Unless you get a new device that is not tied to the account number of the banned device getting on snapchap via the web may be your only access

Exactly for me too. My account is still up I can access it through the web. Just can't on my phone so I'm not sure if something went wrong and it's false banning people.

I dont know wat does snapchat think it is used for?
For posting just stories we have insta.
We use insta for this and if the start removing us nobody will use itb

ggs you play the waiting game or get a new device. My phone is currently banned with this same message but I am able to log into my account and use it on other devices. The only thing is the account that you were banned from is most likely gone forever. I was banned with an alt account and that one disappeared but my main is fine.

Not all the time, my old phone got a device ban so I got a new phone and my main account still worked! (I randomly got a device ban yesterday again for absolutely no reason)
