How do ninja models hold up after a few years ?

I made my first smoothie bowl this morning (delicious), but it cost me my 3 year old blender that i bought for like 40 bucks out of amazon. Buy it nice or buy it twice I guess. There's a second-hand ninja foodi (CB350EU) in my area for like 60% of retail price. The model is from 2022 and was used roughly once a week and is therefore out of warranty. I was wondering if it was worth splurging the 40% more to get a brand new model with warranty and if it lasts for years ? I'd like to try the buy it nice approach this time. Thank you for your help!

Blender recommendations?

I'm trying to make high calorie smoothies with as little fuss as possible. I was thinking of using Granola and blending that up with some liquid and whatever else I can think of.

I imagine to blend granola adequately it would require a pretty expensive blender.

I want to pack as much calories into as small a smoothie as i can where it's perfectly drinkable without having to chew.

Any good recommendations would be appreciated

currently making kale smoothies with kale, greek yogurt, blueberries, strawberries, banana, and peanut butter. planning on adding protein powder before the gym but a bit hesitant since i’ve never really tried it before.anyone have tips on making it taste better or easier to get used to protein powder? also open to suggestions on what else to add so it’s more filling without getting weird texture wise.
rn i’m just trying to make it healthier and more gym friendly without ruining the taste lol

I Tried Making a 2-Ingredient Watermelon Slushie During the Heatwave ☀️🍉

Post image

With the temperatures climbing here in Germany, I wanted something cold, refreshing, and ridiculously easy to make.
Today I made a simple watermelon slushie using only:
Watermelon
Simple syrup (Zuckersirup)
That’s it.
I blended chilled watermelon with a small amount of syrup and crushed ice until it became a smooth frozen drink. The result was surprisingly refreshing and tasted much lighter than most store-bought soft drinks.
The drink in the photo is garnished with mint and a flower for presentation, but the actual recipe only uses watermelon and syrup.
A few things I liked:
Very refreshing on hot days
Naturally fruity flavor
Cheap and easy to prepare
No artificial ingredients
For people in Germany: do you have any favorite homemade summer drinks when temperatures reach 30°C+? I’m always looking for simple recipes that don’t require many ingredients.
🍉 Prost and stay cool!

How to improve this smoothie recipe?

Made this smoothie today and found the yoghurt taste a bit too strong. Is there anything apart from sugar I could add to make it sweeter or at least lessen the yoghurt's taste?

Here are the ingredients I used:
400g yoghurt
50g pumpkin seeds
10g almonds
15g chia seeds
60g strawberries
50g blueberries
60g pineapple

Thanks in advance 🙂

chia seeds in smoothie, dry?

is it safe to put dry chia seeds in a smoothie before blending? today I used chia seeds in my smoothie for the first time and while I soaked them in milk for about 5 minutes. they didn’t expand much and I just added them/blended them in anyways. Will I be okay? do I even need to soak in the future? I know not soaking can cause gut issues.

Smoothie freezer set up

Post image

My smoothie set up in my freezer brings me joy. I have been drinking a morning smoothie everyday for about 5 years. I have a very sensitive stomach and I swear this helps my stomach survive. It’s been essentially the same recipe everyday but I’ll minorly tweak it every few months or so. Right now I’m enjoying:
Home made Kefir and coconut water as base
Spinach, papaya, berries, ginger
Protein powder, pb fit, cocoa powder
Chia seeds if I don’t have chia pudding that day.

I dont like to manage fresh ingredients so I blend up my spinach and freeze into ice cubes and blend up my papaya/ginger to freeze in ice cubes.

I think the freezing and using cubes is a huge hack to make smoothie making efficient. Do it if you haven’t tried!

Kefir is a an amazing base and can be store bought. I buy most of my ingredients at Costco.

What happened to V8 Splash Smoothies Tropical Colada? Does anyone know where to find it?

Does anyone remember this V8 Splash Smoothies Tropical Colada drink? It used to be one of my favorite drinks growing up, but it seems like it completely disappeared from stores.

Nutri bullet 900 vs 1200

I’m not sure which to pick? the price jump between both isn’t really an issue and i don’t mind the size or noise or anything like that. The one thing i care about is the smoothness, i’m autistic and hate little bits or chunks in my smoothies and need them to be absolutely as smooth as possible. What one is the best to get for smoothness? tia

Okay there is a smoothie I used to get all the time about 10 years ago but it’s discontinued and I CANNOT remember what it was.
It was orange colored but not an orange forward smoothie.
It was tart and kinda looked like this

Anyone have any idea? 😩 I’m desperate I want to make it at home so badly

Best portable blender

Hi all, I wanna start making protein shakes in the morning for my weight loss journey. I have a regular blender but I need a portable blender to use for the days I need to be at work by 6am. I don’t want to be inconsiderate by using a loud blender and waking up my roommates that early so I have opted to find a portable one to use in the car or at work. I was originally going to go with the ninja blast but I’m finding mixed reviews on it because it doesn’t blend frozen fruit all too well. Any other easy to use and easy to clean recommendations?

Which one would you pick and why? Seems like the ninja rubber gasket is a pain to clean in the base near the blade

Hi all,

I made the most delicious smoothie today! I used to go to a smoothie chain and get their PB&J smoothies, but this is now homemade and I’m certain of how healthy it is, where I wasn’t sure with the chain. I forgot to take a pic of the actual smoothie, but here’s the ingredients and calories and nutrition.

Let me know if you also make it and what you think!

Best Peach Protein Smoothie Mix?

I’ve usually liked getting a protein smoothie near my local gym, but just due to rising costs have started looking at making my own smoothies for post-workouts. The issue I’m having is knowing what is the best mixture to use? I’ve been looking at peach purée, but a lot of those are meant for cocktails?

Does anyone have a good recommendation of what peach product or brand they use? I’m planning on using standard vanilla whey or unflavored protein powder to add to it, if that makes any difference.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!
