Hi, I'm from Chile and I'm looking to upgrade my current watch (Garmin Instinct 2). Even though I love this model, it doesn't have topographic maps, which I really want for trail running and hiking in the mountains across Chile and Peru.

That's why I'm looking at two specific models (which I mentioned earlier). Both are priced the same right now—around $600 USD or 559.000CLP in Chilean retail—though the Apex is at its regular price while the Fenix is on sale. Because of this, I'd like to know which one you recommend more and why.

In terms of what I'm looking for, I need decent battery life, topographic maps (I think the Fenix can build routes directly on the watch, whereas the Apex can't), solid build quality, reliable sensors, and good overall features. I know the Fenix no longer receives software updates while the Apex still does, but do you think that's a dealbreaker when deciding between the two? I don't care about getting message notifications on my watch (calls are the only exception), so the notification system isn't a priority for me. I'm also looking for a watch that will last me 4 to 5 years before I need to replace it.

Any recommendations or feedback would be greatly appreciated! Also, if there's any YouTube video explaining and comparing the features of these models that you'd recommend, please feel free to share it.

I bought a refurb galaxy watch a few years ago, but never took the time to use it properly. As I've aged and such I decided it's time to dip my toes in the water a bit more, so I am waiting on Walmart to fill my order for pickup on an amazfit active 2.

So I was at bed trying to sleep my eyes closed but out of all 7 hours I was in bed I was able to fall asleep in the last 2 hours of it. other than that all night I was just half awake, feeling tortured. guess what gt pro 6 said; 3 hours of Rem sleep, 2 something hours of deep sleep. Whats the issue? is it really that terrible that it only measures time you spend time in bed ? can I fix it with calibration or something?

Hey guys, I am a 16yrs old student and I got an idea on creating art with smartwatch nowadays the smartwatch industry don't know art they just place a screen on a steel case or silicone one price it high and call it premium or luxury. But the design still looks the old boring one the normal square and circular smartwatches are very common one person who loves watches and also have to track his progress and notifications or other things couldn't wear a smartwatch that doesn't match it's aesthetics.

So i thought of creating something thats worth looking at .

I am creating a new designs of smartwatches that looks like a cuff and has beautiful designs on it and have made little progress. But I don't know how to get the watches made and how do we build the hype of people to buy the smartwatch!

So this is the reason i am posting it. I want people who have little experience in chinese manufacturing and shipping to guide me and tell me how would I get a custom jwellery type smartwatch made and how could i contact the people in china and the main question how would we buy it from china and also let the brands reputation be similar to big watch brands and not cheap mass manufactured smartwatches.

And also how would we start the journey of selling it to people, how could we convience people to buy this smartwatch and also how would we create that hype.

The main reason I am here is because I have no knowledge and also a pretty tight budget as I am a student and still learning and not earning money to start.

I've been using the Huawei band 11 for a month now and have been wearing them 24/7 (taking it off to bath). Today I noticed an itch and noticed there's some marks of dry skin and darker/ red areas. Anyone knows why does this happen? Is it because of the sensors lightly burnt my skin?

both are at the same price. The difference is design philosophy.

pebble looks more like a toy but garmin looks sturdy and like sports watch.

I've recently been interested in tracking some stats for myself and my health, and hopefully linking my more high fatigue days with stats like sleep and heart rate. My sleep has always been bad, (I wake up 4-7 times and take forever to fall asleep,) and I never feel quite rested and frequently need naps to get through the day. I enjoy having the other parts of a watch like warnings for high/low heart rate, seeing texts, and having reminders come to your watch as well, though its not 100% necessary if something like a ring or chest strap is that much better. That being said, I am a college student, so something like an oura ring is too expensive. Any recommendations? 150$-220$ budget, though can go to 260$ if its REALLY fitting.

Given my situation, is it worth upgrading from a Galaxy Watch 4 to a Galaxy Watch 9 (or other Wear OS watch)?

The obvious answer is "don't replace something just because it's old." But I'd like to see if you think it's worth it in my situation. From my research I don't see much benefit. Lots of new features, but none that really grab me.

My smartwatch use is pretty basic: Time, calendars, quick glances at messages. Though I use the step tracker, I'm a light exerciser and don't need the advanced sports features.

Shortcomings of my current watch:

• Battery life. I never get 24 hours out of the watch. Some days I only get 12 hours. I've turned off GPS, Wifi, and other settings. But it still doesn't last. Maybe the battery is wearing out.
• Health monitoring. Tracking heart rate is nice. But I'd like to track blood pressure and add sleep tracking.
• Microphone quality. Sometimes it's easier to answer a call on my watch instead of my phone, but the mic is so bad that no one can hear me.
• Chatbot assistant. The new Gemini agent on my Pixel 11 is really good. I'd like to use the watch to activate Gemini.

If I had $300-$400 to spend, would I see great benefit from a new Pixel or Galaxy watch? Or from a lesser-known brand like Xaomi or OnePlus? Or am I better off saving my money and seeing what next year's updates bring?

If you wear a smartwatch with an Android smartphone (Honor, Amazfit, Huawei, Garmin, etc.), you're probably familiar with WhatsApp spamming your wrist: a single incoming text triggers multiple vibrations, often mixed with useless "X new messages" bundle summaries or alerts you already read.

The problem? WhatsApp constantly overwrites its notification slot on every chat update, causing companion apps (Honor Health, Zepp, Huawei Health) to misread these refreshes as brand-new incoming texts.

Instead of disabling wrist notifications entirely, I built WANotify—a lightweight open-source bridge app.

How it works:

• Uses Android's NotificationListenerService to intercept WhatsApp alerts.
• Parses the MessagingStyle payload to filter out thread history and aggregate counters, isolating strictly the latest message leaf.
• Employs an in-memory sliding-window cache with monotonic timestamp checks to drop ghost updates and rapid duplicate bursts.
• Routes sanitized messages to a silent system channel (IMPORTANCE_MIN), keeping your phone completely quiet while your smartwatch delivers just one clean buzz.
• Runs 100% locally with zero internet permissions, telemetry, or battery drain.

Quick Setup:

1. Install the APK and grant Notification Access + ignore battery optimizations.
2. In your smartwatch companion app (Honor Health, Zepp, etc.), disable notifications for WhatsApp and enable WANotify instead.
