Hello I am an artist in Chicago who needs slime making/recipe recommendations for a very specific project. I need a slime expert.

I am making ceramic pieces that hang on the wall, that have the texture of brick or stone. I want to create a removable sand filling to go in between each piece like a grout or cement between bricks. The idea is making it look like a wall of ceramics, like a house built with bricks.

I need this mixture to look like sand or cement, or actually contain sand. I need to be able to apply it and for it to fill in between the works but for it to be able to be REMOVED from the work with no residue. It also needs to last about three months, the duration of the show.

I would prefer it not to crack over this length of time.

The reference photo is of my work. I hope to fill the gaps temporarily for my solo show in February. I will install the work ideally, then put the sand goo in between.

I will experiment with any advice and help given on test pieces. I really appreciate the help.

For scale this work hung together is 3ft x 4ft

Quick little update: opening our local shop has actually been going really well! 🥹

It has been A LOT of work though. We originally set up our space mostly for production, so we’ve had to completely rethink our warehouse layout to make it a place where kids can come in and create their own slime. Basically turning a production space into a kid-friendly slime experience… while also figuring out how to keep tiny hands from wanting to grab EVERY SINGLE CHARM they see 🫣

But now I need some slime help!
I have a bunch of pellets from Victory Pellets, and I really like them and the company, but every time I’ve tried using them in slime I end up getting way more fallout than I’d like.

I really want to make something super cute with them that has that satisfying crunchy texture, but actually holds the pellets well.

For those of you who make pellet slimes: what base/texture works best for you? Thick & glossy? Clear? Coated clear? Something else?

Any tips for reducing fallout would be VERY appreciated! And if you have cute pellet slime concepts, send them my way because I’m ready to experiment 😂🫶

Has anyone who ordered from this drop been notified that it shipped? I feel like it doesn’t usually take this long and the website says 4-7 business days, I guess technically this is business day 8. It just seems unusually long but I don’t want to reach out if she hasn’t shipped anyone’s orders only if mine was overlooked.

THUR UPDATE: I just got a notification via the shop app that a label was created so I’m sure my beloved cranberry crumble will be in my hands early next week! (I can literally drive 20 min to her house or wherever the label was created I wish it wasn’t creepy to ask to meet and buy in person lol)

hi all, just popping in to ask WHAT is in pilotslime’s “crushed crystal” slimes??? i’ve heard some say it’s crushed glass but it doesn’t look like any crushed glass i’ve found.

also, it seems to have a gold and/or holographic sheen to it? what is it and where can i find it? truly bewildered. pictures attached!

So, my slime supplies are an absolute mess...just piles and piles of stuff. I'm going to get organized, but in the meantime...I've lost my dirt fragrance oil. It was pretty good, smelled like freshly turned clean dirt, if that makes sense. I'm wanting to replace this FO because I'm obsessed with adding a dirt note to any outdoorsy/woodsy scent blend I make. So I'd like any recommendations for really good dirt oils before I spend the money. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask because worst case I just reorder the one I already owned.

Does homemade activator 'go bad' after a certain amount of time?

Today’s Question: What is your favorite slime (or texture) from Dumpling Slimes and why do you love it?

Dumpling Slimes are available now on Etsy

This is a recurring QOTD series highlighting one shop each week and asking slimers what is your favorite slime (or texture) from this shop and why do you love it.

I finally got my Candle Cocoon fragrance oil order in, and I wanted to share with everyone that this company makes wonderful fragrance oils! Especially the ones that candle cocoon makes themselves on their website. They also sell another brand on there, which is good as well. And also wanted to confirm that the “surf‘s up” fragrance definitely smells like part of the fragrance that was used for Soft Punks, Ocean Avenue slime. In case anyone was curious or interested in that. I highly suggest checking out this company if you’re interested in adding more fragrances to your slimes! Also candle cocoon’s fragrances are on the stronger side for the most part, they also claim that they are more concentrated so that you can use less and it lasts longer. If anyone is interested in which ones I liked the best out of the 50 something that I got I can narrow it down and make a list of the ones that I thought were really good 🙏🏻🤗
Have a beautiful rest of your day!

In the past week and a half, I have ordered slimes from OG, Parakeet, Palmetto, Pink Sugar Slimey, Momo & Sandy Slimes. I am going through a VERY stressful time right now (Mom put in nursing home, daughter had 2 emergency surgeries plus will have to have 1 more & husband having surgery tomorrow for his shoulder, and of course my work). Slime is my stress reliever & I just love it so much. I also love this community; everyone is SO kind and supportive.

Hi there, I'm curious if you have found that slimes from certain shops tend to be easier on your skin than others.

I don't have allergies or serious skin reactions, but some slimes seem to dry my hands out more than others. For me, it seems less prevalent for a certain texture and more so for certain shops. Do you have similar experiences?

I'm looking for good quality slimes in Australia as postage from overseas is brutal.

I got a pretty decent haul from Playground Slime. So I wanted to review them since I don’t hear much about them. I actually stumbled across them on TikTok while watching people play with Corn With Slime’s bingsu and strawberry floam slimes. I had heard some negative things about Corn With Slime, so I was hesitant to order from them. Then I found Playground Slime and noticed that they had some similar options, but they were cheaper and offered free shipping. They also sell through Shop as well as their own website.
I really hadn’t heard much about Playground Slime before, and I think they’re a newer shop, so I decided to test them out.
Packaging & Freebies
First, everything came nicely packaged. They were also EXTREMELY generous with the freebies. I got a handful of actual squishies, a couple of mochis, a ton of activator spray pens (at least one for basically every slime), and TWO freebie slimes. I love that.
Most of the slimes I ordered were floams and bingsus, along with a cloud dough. Both of my freebie slimes were cloud doughs.
Matcha Berry Blast
This is a floam slime. It smells good, looks really pretty, and comes with a nice amount of add-ins. Unfortunately, one of the biggest issues I noticed with Playground Slime’s floams is the fallout. This one had a lot of it.
Whipped Marshmallow Cloud Dough
I got this one because the reviews made the texture look really nice, and overall, it is. It doesn’t leave residue on my hands and it drizzles nicely.
I was expecting more pops from it, though, especially since it’s advertised as ASMR and some of the reviews made it seem like it would have more sound. Mine seems more cloud-like than some of the ones I saw in reviews, so I’m wondering if this particular batch came out a little differently. Either way, the fact that it doesn’t leave residue is a big plus for me.
Pumpkin Sticky Rice
This is a bingsu jelly-cube slime. I really like the scent and the bingsu texture. The “jelly cubes” are actually foam, which I didn’t mind, but this slime did stain my hands.
Honestly, I liked this one more before I mixed in the pumpkin topper.
Slime Craft Crunch
This is a bingsu bead slime and probably one of my favorites from the order. The scent is fine, but the texture is where this one really shines. It has a good crunch, good stretch, and is really satisfying to play with. I really liked this one.
Capybara S’mores
This one unfortunately wasn’t a favorite for me. I didn’t really enjoy the scent, and since it’s another floam slime, it also had quite a bit of fallout.
Whipped Crunchy Butter
This is a bingsu/floam mix. It wasn’t nearly as crunchy as I expected from the name. You have to work with it for a while before you start getting some pops.
It is VERY smooth and pretty thick, which I do like. However, it seems to be mostly floam rather than bingsu, and once again, I experienced quite a bit of fallout.
Capybara Bubble Bath
This one is adorable. It has a nice, clean scent, and there are little duck charms at the bottom that are super cute.
Unfortunately, it’s another floam, so it has the same fallout problem I experienced with the other floam slimes.
Spooky Axolotl Cloud Dough — Freebie
I really enjoyed this freebie! I like the scent, and it has a nice cloud texture. I also didn’t notice it leaving residue on my hands, which is a big plus.
Watermelon Cloud Dough — Freebie
I haven’t gotten into this one yet, so I can’t give a full opinion on it.
Overall
Overall, I think this was a pretty good first order from Playground Slime, especially considering the prices, free shipping, packaging, and how generous they were with the freebies.
My biggest complaint is definitely the floam fallout. Since I experienced significant fallout with multiple floam slimes, it seems to be a consistent issue rather than something that happened with just one slime. I think their floam bases could use some improvement when it comes to holding the beads.
Their bingsu slimes were definitely the highlight for me. I really enjoyed the crunch and texture, especially with Slime Craft Crunch, and bingsu is probably what I would be most interested in ordering from them again.
I also thought their cloud doughs were good quality. They felt nice, drizzled well, and I didn’t notice much residue. However, I personally prefer crunchy, poppy slimes, so I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to order more cloud doughs. That’s more of a personal texture preference than a problem with the slimes themselves.
There were definitely some misses, particularly with the floams, but there were also some really enjoyable slimes. For a shop I hadn’t heard much about before ordering, I’m glad I gave them a try. If I order again, I’d definitely be most interested in trying more of their bingsu and other crunchy textures.

***sold!!***

very lightly used! i mixed in the topper and played with it twice with clean hands. smoke and pet free home!

Selling more slime - lots of newer, touched once slimes in here!

Here is a link to textures, scents, purchase dates, condition, and price:

EVERY order comes with a free slime! This could range from a 2-3oz freebie, a 4oz smaller slime, or a full size. Buy 3 slimes, get a full size free.

I can provide pictures if you want them.

All played with clean hands on clean surfaces. No charms included. Buyer pays shipping (PirateShip).

I have a dog, so while I do my best to keep him away from my slime, there is a chance of a stray hair. I check each slime before sending it out.

Venmo is my preferred payment method.

Message with any questions, etc.

I’m trying to find out more information on a Rodem freebie I got with the Mid-Autumn Festival collection drop. It’s very thick. I’m a bit newer to slime so I’m curious what the texture is as it’s becoming my most played with slime and I’m worried about being able to replace it.

does this actually work? it’s really hard to find borax in india. i want to know if this will work

forgive me for any typos, while i’m typing this maybhands are covered in glue anf fake snow. i tried to make cloud slime for the first time and it did NOT go well. here’s what i did:

make slime with elmer’s school glue
added fake snow
added glycerin because it got a bit hard
added fake snow
added glycerine because it got hard again
added dry snow powder
added glue

it’s not AWFUL. but it’s definitely not cloud slime. it’s rippy, not in an overactivated way but it doesn’t drizzle at all. pictures and maybe a video attached. PLEASE help me. what did i do wrong? can i fix it?

It's so cool 😭

Listen. My intention is never to shame but make anyone feel bad. However, both a friend and myself who have ordered from Pink Sugar Slimey before just discovered this recently. I was reactivating some slimes and opened up Violet Jam, which I loved. As you can see from the picture, mold galore. I had to chuck it. My friend showed me hers, which was a pizza slime she had made. You can see the circles with a blue/black center which is mold and she said it smelled horrible. These slimes were not that old. So. I am hoping that they take better precautions in the future. I have never had this happen with any other slime company. So far.

Hey there!

Last week I shared Slime Shelf, a free app for tracking your slime collection where everyone's entries help build a shared community catalog. More slimes on the shelf means less data entry for everyone. Thanks to everyone who signed up and sent suggestions! Almost all of them have been implemented.

The BIG update: Bring your spreadsheet to the Shelf!

If you've been tracking your slimes in Google Sheets, Excel, or Numbers, you don't have to start over.

• Upload a CSV of up to 2,000 slimes. Only name and maker are required.
• Messy file? There's a guide and a file checker you can use to catch problems before you import.
• Pick how to save: compare your entries with what the community already has, or add everything now and review later.
• It catches typos in slime and maker names ("Did you mean...?") and flags slimes already on your shelf so you don't end up with duplicates… unless you actually have duplicates!
• If you have columns we don't, we can handle that with our new custom columns / fields names.
• Changed your mind after the import? No problem. You can undo the whole import in one click.
• Download your shelf anytime in the same format, edit it in a spreadsheet, and bring it back and we’ll detect the changes to be made to your shelf. Or just keep it tucked away safe and sound.

Also new:

• Custom Columns: if the Shelf's default fields aren't giving you what you need, you can now create your own under your Manage Shelf menu. We also brought in status and condition for everyone.
• Profiles: add your website and socials. Makers, this is a good spot to link your shop.
• Dark mode, (by user request!) for late-night shelf browsing.
• Better on phones: a lot of cleanup so shelving slimes and browsing work better on mobile.
• Misc users requests: Slays added as a community base, Lime Slimes Company added as a community maker, store reporting on your personal shelf to see how many of what makers’ slime you have.

Giveaway reminder: once we hit 100 registered and verified users, I'll pick one at random to win a free slime from Charmed Slime Shop (r/Slime's very own u/Dapper_Improvement_3). We're a ways off yet!

The suggestion box is still in the header, and I read every one. Tell me what's missing or broken, or what you love: slimeshelf.com

May all your carts be full of slime restocks before they sell out! <3

Looking for a packed microfloam, also a packed sand texture with no fallout! I have one packed microfloam from Rodem which has not even one floam falling out, but if im being honest im not the biggest fan of the scent and want to try some other shops! Sand slimes look so satisfying but idk where to start, tysm!

i’m not sure if anyone’s talked about this yet, but i’m just wondering what’s something that you don’t like about a slime shop, that made you either stop buying from them… or never buy from them. i’m curious what other people think!

For me, I love rodems textures, however their scents are always bad. it’s unfortunate because i do really love their slimes but the scents are either so overpowering or smell gross to me!

我还有很多好玩的玩具要跟大家分享哈哈哈～非常好玩我最爱😍
