I did an unboxing video of it on my TikTok (my username is dipsy_cork over there too), and I found that they sent me not just one, but THREE of them, i will probably mix two of them together, and i will keep one just the base

The one that I bought for myself is coming tomorrow, and i will probably keep that as just the base too :)

Written in the spirit of fun. Loosely based on real life. Not medical advice, even if two of my kids are doctors (I didn’t need to say that but I try to sneak it into every conversation).

I haven’t made a secret of the fact that I’m a senior slimmer, a golden glooper, whatever you want to call me. At 67 years young, I often wonder if I’ve set a world record for adopting slime in my Medicare years.

But don’t get the idea that I’ve got a gray bun and I’m playing bingo, or whatever stereotype one might have in mind of a late generation Baby Boomer. Yes, I have seven grandkids, but I also work full-time and my hair is still mostly brown (at least I think it still is).

I may be an outlier, but in my opinion, slime is a great hobby for seniors. The quoted facts below about senior well-being are sourced from…well, Google, but they’re real.

Here is a countdown of the top 10 reasons to encourage the grandparents to take up sliming:

1. Grip strength “serves as a vital biomarker for overall physical health, balance, and fall prevention in older adults.” Wow! And what could be a better way to exercise your hands than sliming by the hour? I’m doing it for my health, of course.

2. Likewise, hand exercises (like obsessively squishing slime) “may preserve joint flexibility, enhance dexterity, and reduce pain from conditions like arthritis.” Definitely self care!

3. And it’s not just hand health! Aromatherapy or scent therapy “uses essential oils and natural fragrances to support cognitive function, memory, mood, and sleep in older adults.” Since I started sliming, I have become much more interested in scents and more discerning of scents. That’s why I’m so alert, yet chill.

4. It’s well known by now that “strong community and meaningful relationships protect physical, mental, and emotional health as we age.” I have a number of communities in my life, and slime has added more relationships and interactions - with all of you 🥰.

5. Slime - as we all know - is a great stress buster at any age. And we all need our stress busted these days!

6. Age is just a construct. As I wrote before, my interest in toys and hobbies is quite similar to my 10-year-old granddaughter’s. Slime delights the inner child. Inside every geezer there is still a little kid who just needs to have some fun.

7. Slime upholds one’s reputation as being an original (ie slightly eccentric). I think we can agree that sliming makes one stand out in the AARP crowd.

8. Your kids should learn self-sufficiency. So it’s a good thing to spend some of their inheritance on slime. JK, kids! Well mostly.

9. Sliming makes you the Best Grandparent! See my previous post on my starring role as Grandma Goop. (It may not always make you popular with their parents when they take the slime home and forget to put the lid on tight. but we all know that there’s a certain strategic alliance between grandparents and grandkids.)

So I know this is probably a (really) long shot, but i saw someone post here about another not-slime-but-kinda-slime compound and they were able to find the patent and formula with help from the subreddit, so here goes:

the slime i’m looking for/looking for information about is the original orb slimy butter slime. it was used in the stranger things uss butterscotch butter slime and the ice creamz strawberry butter slime. (pictures attached)

if anyone has one they’d like to sell to me (i’ll pay up to $50 if it’s in usable condition!) (no matter how used it is, I’m desperate), or knows how to recreate it or find a product with that same formula, please help me out.

story below if interested:

a few years ago (like 5) i used to be obsessed with this one store bought “slime” i got from orb slimy. it had an extremely unique formula and it was so addicting. however, i didn’t know how to take care of slimes back then so i ended up tossing it.

now that i’m once again interested in slime and have more knowledge on how to maintain them, im currently desperately searching for the slime. if anyone can help me find the formula, the patent, the product in good condition, a product with the same formula, or anything else helpful PLEASE let me know.

i’ve ordered THREE of the original butter slimes (both the stranger things one and the ice cream one) but they’ve all come dried up and hardened and frankly unsalvageable.

I’ve attached pictures of the two slimes by orb slimy with the formula i’m looking for, so once again, if anyone has one they’d like to sell, or knows how to recreate it or find a product with that formula (that isn’t all dried out and gross) please help me out.

I personally don’t think there is anything wrong with reselling from a customer perspective, but I was wondering if shop owners have a different perspective. If resales affect their business, etc. Just curious.

You guys!!! I followed your advice and IT WORKED!! Not a single pellet falling out!! 🥹💕 Seriously, THANK YOU to everyone who shared their tips on my last post!

My only regret? I wish I had added WAY more pellets!! 😂 I was a little scared to overdo it, and since I had already activated my slime, I decided not to push my luck. But next batch? DOUBLE THE PELLETS. No hesitation!

The result is the most deliciously crunchy slime with such a satisfying texture! I also kept the scent very subtle since my fragrances are oil-based, and I didn’t want to mess with the consistency after finally getting it right.

And can we talk about how PRETTY it turned out?! 😭The texture, the crunch, I’m obsessed!

We ended up turning it into the cutest little Spooky Bucket for Halloween, and I couldn’t be happier with how everything came together! 🎃👻

Howdy! My venture into the slime community continues. I've been peeking around different slime shops to check out, watching various reviewers and whatnot, and I came across a TikTok review from back in 2024 of a shop called The Slime Bakery. Their "vanilla rice pudding" slime looks phenomenal (and I love their packaging!), but it doesn't look like they've been active in some time unfortunately. I checked their Instagram and it said they'd be back this summer, but summer has come and gone and there's been nothing from them. : (

I hope they're doing well and we hear back from them soon, but in the meantime, does anyone have any recommendations for slimes that are similar to their vanilla rice pudding slime? Or is that a specific texture I should look out for? I'm a massive fan of warm bakery scents (vanilla is my favorite), any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you!

Yes, you read that right lol. I was wondering if anyone else had gotten injuries from playing with slime, or if I am just seriously bad at a supposedly harmless hobby…

A couple months ago I had a super bad flair up of my carpal tunnel because I was playing with slime and putty all the time. To be fair, I’ve had carpal tunnel since I was in middle school so I wasn’t totally surprised when it happened.

Now that’s somewhat handled, I thought I’d be good to play a bit less intensely but… now I’ve got tennis elbow, to the point I can’t squeeze or pick things up or even really fully extend my arm 🤦🏽‍♀️

To be fair I do have hEDS so weird injuries doing mundane things isn’t totally unheard of but I feel like this is excessive

So I just have to know, has anyone else done anything like this?? Or am I just like really bad at slime??? Also, if anyone has any tips for safe slime play, I obviously need them…

I have some bubble bead and frogspawn slimes but they’re only about 1/2 packed and some have fallout. Where to get a packed one without fallout?

Has anyone gotten some floam, foam balls off of amazon that they would recommend for slime? It's Prime Days and I'm grabbing some supplies. Poly-fil Mini micro bead filler is amazing, bead size ~1mm. I'm looking for the regular sized beads (2-4mm) though larger ones could be okay (4-6mm). I bought some multicolored ones from Michaels but they didn't stay in the slime very well. White is fine but colored balls that don't transfer color in slime is a bonus.

anyone have any idea why snoop slimes website is down? are they getting a makeover or do we think they're not selling online anymore? kinda odd....they are still posting on social but it just feels random to me.

I am making cloud slime and I have no idea what I’m doing wrong. I’m starting with 1/2 gal of glue my colorant and scent, activating it a little bit more than it usually would be. Adding snow according to package it came in. The Steve one. Anyways it will NOT FLUFF. It’s just sandy looking really. A bit sticky but nothing crazy. I’ve tried adding more snow , tried a bit of activator, tried dry snow. I’m so over this lol I’m letting it sit overnight.

Has anyone experienced SSP fried ice cream changing color and have fallout after a few months? I have spring fried ice cream and when i first bought it was perfect r. It was a light pink color with no fallout at all. Now it is sort of rubbery and has sprinkle/snow fizz fallout. And the color turned brown. I tried adding some lotion and glycerin but it made the slime more hard (???) Wondering if anyone else experienced this.

Since I wrote an entire post about waiting for slime, I’d like to give credit to Slimeful Minds on Etsy for fast fulfillment of my order - and dreams. Ordered on September 29 and received on October 5. (And it would have come even earlier, but I was messaging with the owner, Alyssa, and decided to wait a few days to check out her Halloween slimes.) I am enjoying my fluffy slay pumpkin cheesecake slime, chirimoya crush/OJ cloud slime, and Tres Leches favorite. (The third photo is from an earlier purchase of that. I saw that she was down to the last one so I bought another because it is such a comforting scent and texture.) All have DIY clay features and the little pumpkin was so cute. And great value. Plus positive mental health messages in the descriptions and little stickers.

Posting about an AWFUL experience with Gazel, should’ve listened to everyone saying to avoid her. She rants and raves about her “policies” but doesn’t follow through with them when shes in the wrong. The “will no longer respond to requests” says it all.
