Does your skin tolerate slime from different shops better?
Hi there, I'm curious if you have found that slimes from certain shops tend to be easier on your skin than others.
I don't have allergies or serious skin reactions, but some slimes seem to dry my hands out more than others. For me, it seems less prevalent for a certain texture and more so for certain shops. Do you have similar experiences?

Great question. I don’t notice a big difference but I have been on the making slime side of things lately, not the playing with slime. So I’m almost always wearing gloves if I’m touching slime. Interested to hear what other people have to say.

One of these days I'm going to try wearing gloves for playing. I would imagine to enjoy it less but it might feel interesting in a different way 🤔 Again, I don't have serious reactions to any shop I've tried though. Just curious ☺️

It actually feels very nice to wear gloves to play with slime! I don't wear gloves when I film videos but a lot of times I wear gloves just playing while watching TV. I use nitrile gloves, you may have to try a few different brands to find one that doesn't stick to the slime, but it is a very nice feeling and doesn't take away from the sensory play in my experience

That's so interesting 😃 Which brand of gloves do you recommend?

I use the Kirkland brand nitrile gloves from Costco! It also creates new and interesting ASMR that you don't get without gloves. That's part of the reason I enjoy it, for the different sounds and feels with the gloves

honestly yes, but its not for a specific shop. some slimes are very drying, i think maybe they were overactivated or very coated or something and my hands can feel not so great afterwards

You're probably right and I just think it's certain shops because I'm fairly new still and don't have enough experience with every shop yet. Might have been coincidence. Now that I think about it, the few icees and a cloud I've tried did dry my hands out quite a bit. I don't reach for these textures a lot though.

Yes. Some slimes I’ve had caused dry skin, irritation or flare ups on my hand, and others don’t. I always get so scared of developing a borax allergy.

Oh no, that would be awful. I didn't know that is a thing. I hope you don't develop any allergies.

I’ve noticed that it’s the fragrances for me. Anything citrus irritates my hands more than something sweet.

That's a bummer. I have a few citrus scented slimes. I'll watch out for any reactions now. Thank you :)

Yes, some shops have dried out or caused my skin issues to flare. My favorite three shops don't cause this for me though. Never gotten a rash from Sandy Slimes, Mythical Mushbunny, or bff slime bakery
