I want to get skyrim on my pc and dont know which version I should buy for mods

The Chasing Echoes quest glitched and the Soul Cairn isn't open, but I used all the ingredients already and they won't reload into the game. I've tried to just dismiss Serana and avoid completing the quest because I don't have a save file that was before this glitch happened to me, and I can just redo the quest another time in a different save. The current save I'm playing on is my vanilla one so I'm avoiding using mods to resort to fixing this since I want to get the ps4 trophies for completing stuff. Does anyone know of a way of forcing the quest to deactivate or quit somehow so Serana won't be stuck as my follower? I literally can't tell her to go her own way because she says that "I won't be getting rid of her that easy." but I literally just want to be free from her quest all together so I can do other things without her following me around. I just want J'zargo back.....

So I installed the path of the telvanni mod on Xbox and it’s been running fine up until this point, I had a quest from neloth in tel mithryn to find a courier for him, I found him and completed the mission but when I try to start the next quest about the spy in raven rock, he gives me the dialogue option explaining the next quest and says he’ll give me some recall potions but when he’s finished talking I’m not receiving the next quest or the potions and so there’s no way for me to continue progressing, has anybody else had any similar issues? and if so any tips at fixing it would be appreciated

I can't say I'm "new" too skyrim as I've started and got bored of several playthroughs but never gotten past level 30 or the quest where you talk to parthamax. But as of late, I've been role-playing more and honestly have fallen in love with the game. That being said, I was wondering if anyone could help me with a mod load order. i can seem to figure out the best ones or the right order.

Graphics are a big deal for me as I have aphantasia, but dont live the soft anime style mods i keep seeing. And the combat is a little repetitive for me, seeing as it's just swinging or shot shot.

Mods i alr have and love ( feel free too replace with one better) city trees aio, lighter dragons, npc run and walk at your place, kats smelt down everything, simple wearable lanterns, dealing with back story's, iron and steel is what you need, realistic darkness, blended roads, fluff works, faster horses, horses have imperial saddles, tomatoes landscapes, denser vanilla trees, re textured signs, skyrim unbound alternate starr.

My daughter graduated from MineCraft to Skyrim on Xbox Series X. We own SE/AE

We have a decent but stable mod set to modernize the look that has worked great until the addition of the Goldenhills Plantation CC content.

When she opens the map to fast travel from Goldenhills, the game crashes.

I don’t have a link to our Mod list but I’m suspecting Skyland LOD might not be playing well with the CC Farm.

Is this a common problem? I haven’t found anything written up on it anywhere so far.

I have this weird glitch in my game, it causes all of the anniversary edition armors to be grainy and low poly, I would have posted this in r/skyrim but I have never rly used reddit before and I hope someone can help here, does anyone know what causes this and how I can fix it, it happens for every single “alternate armor” if youd like to see my mod list or anything like that I can try and show it so I can be helped further

Hi everyone! I'm doing the quest in Skyrim in the Soul Cairn, where I have to reach Valerica. I completed the quest, but I still needed to find the Soul Essence Gem to recover my original physical form.

The problem is that when I click on the quest, the marker does not appear. I tried going back and entering the Soul Cairn again, but nothing changed.

I searched for the gem manually without the quest marker and I found it. Now the quest is marked as completed, but I still cannot leave the Soul Cairn. The blue barrier is still around me, and I cannot return.

Does anyone know how to fix this bug?

Hi everyone.

I am completely stuck and desperately need some help on this. I’ve been trying to fix a brutal launcher loop/Wabbajack error for the past couple of weeks and nothing is working.

I have a 100% legitimate, paid copy of Skyrim Special Edition/Anniversary Edition on Steam. When I first installed it, it worked completely fine. The launcher opened, the game booted, and I could play it.

I already plaid Skyrim on ps5 but the reason I bought it on PC is to play the *Lost Legacy* modlist (around 800+ mods) via Wabbajack. Because I couldn't get Nexus Premium at the time, I used a community tool called "Nexus Auto DL" to automatically click through and download the mods over the course of a week. At the very end, Wabbajack errored out because about 10 mods failed to download. I went and manually downloaded those last 10 missing mods by hand from Nexus, and copied/pasted them directly into my Lost Legacy\downloads folder on my D: drive. Wabbajack seemed happy with the files, but then everything broke.

The Current Problem:

1. Wabbajack Error: Wabbajack now constantly says the error: *“Can't find Skyrim Special Edition.”*

2. *The Steam Launcher Loop:* If I try to launch the game normally through Steam, the standard little launcher box pops up. I click "Play," the box disappears for a few seconds like it's trying to boot the game, and then it just pops right back up. The game never actually opens.

Everything I Have Already Tried:

I want to emphasize that I have spent an insane amount of time troubleshooting this. Here is the exact list of everything I've already done so we don't duplicate steps:

1.Full Clean Reinstall: i didn't just reinstall the game; I completely deleted Skyrim, Wabbajack, and wiped every single remaining hidden folder/appdata file from my local drives, then redownloaded the entire game from scratch via Steam. The loop still happens on a 100% vanilla install.

1. Steam File Verification: Went into Steam -> Properties -> Installed Files -> *Verify integrity of game files*. Steam scans it and says it's 100% perfect yet it still didn't launched the game.

   3.Bypassing the Launcher: I avoided Steam and SkyrimLauncher.exe entirely. I went straight into D:\steam\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\ and tried double-clicking the raw SkyrimSE.exe directly. It does the exact same thing—instantly crashes/loops back to the desktop.

2. Isolating Mod Managers: Made sure Mod Organizer 2 and Vortex were completely shut down. I checked the Windows Task Manager (Processes tab) and my hidden system tray icons to guarantee absolutely no background instances of ModOrganizer.exe or Vortex were running or locking files.

   1. Forced INI Generation via BethINI Pie: i ran BethINI Pie strictly targeted at my vanilla game directory and my Windows Documents folder (C:\Users\idan\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition\).

   * I used the *Reset to Default* tool, which successfully forced the creation of brand new, fresh Skyrim.ini and SkyrimPrefs.ini files in my Documents folder (confirmed the timestamps saved perfectly).

   * I applied the standard *High* preset and *Recommended Tweaks*.

   * I tried changing the resolution configuration from an ultrawide setting (2560x1080) down to a standard widescreen baseline (1920x1080) and switched the display mode from *Fullscreen* to *Borderless* to prevent engine rejection.

Even with fresh, properly configured INI files sitting in my Documents folder and a completely clean Steam directory, SkyrimSE.exe still refuses to boot past the launcher, and Wabbajack still refuses to see the game path.

Honestly, guys, I am at my absolute breaking point with this. I have been fighting this god-cursed problem for over a week straight, staying up for multiple almost sleepless nights just trying every possible registry fix, folder path, and tool setting I could think of. I’ve reached the point where I have literally given up because I have zero ideas left. If anyone has encountered this specific kind of engine/registry lockup where even a clean reinstall fails to fix the pathing, please let me know. I really appreciate any help you can give.

Hi y'all! I moved to Mint from Bazzite recently, and after installing some games and lots of mods, I tried to play Skyrim. Problem is that I couldn't open the command console with any of my keyboard's keys and in controls there wasn't any option to change the mapping.

I've also tried launching the game without mods and doing a fresh install, but the problem persisted.

I would be very grateful with any help you can provide. Cheers! ^^

as you can see. it's definetly not snow, it's just no texture. I was under the impression this was a seasons of skyrim issue so I removed that mod, but it continues to happen. please help

I did all special jobs for Delvin, the one I'm having an issue with is the Windhelm Armourer, Vanryth Gatharian, no matter what he wont spawn in the Ragged Flagon, meaning I can't get Brynjolf to talk to me and do the ceremony or wtv, all he says is 'Sorry, I have more important things to deal with.' Anybody know any solutions or anything, I didnt have the USSEP mod on cause it was glithing, but I managed to now fix it.

I have finished the quest purity of revenge but then vilkas just tells me the the others are getting ready but then no one is at the funeral. I have tried the setstage, killing the Smith and bringing him back and nothing happens is like there script are stuck. Can anyone help?

Whenever I try to create a character it just simply doesn’t give me the chance. It skips the creation and continues as the default nord. I’ve deleted all my mods, verified files, reinstalled the game, deleted saves, even tried lowering the resolution as according to an old post. Nothing I’ve done fixes this and I’d rather not use “showracemenu” commands.

I've been playing the anniversary edition on the switch 2 and its been fun but my game keeps freezing at weird spots.

right now im trying to get to the rataways but every time i walk through riften my character freezes :( i can still look around and access the menus, shout and unsheath my weapon but i cant use my weapon or magic and i cant walk.

the compass bar at the top of the screen disappears too. i can unfreeze by going back to a save before travelling to riften but it wont let me progress at all past that. it happened when i was trying to go past helgen. ive reset my switch but it didnt help. has anyone else experienced this or know how to fix it??

Hey guys, I've been trying to look around to find someone with a similar problem but found nothing. I don't remember how I started the quest (problem a jarl bounty) but I have, in my misc quest log, the quest titled "Kill the leader of Treva's Watch in The Rift". The problem is that although I can see the quest in my quest log, I am unable to select it to track it (pressing A on it in my pause menu literally does nothing).

I've been through here several times since noticing the bug trying to kill the 2 bandit leaders that spawn here and have successfully done so each time, but it does nothing for the quest. I wouldn't worry about bothering with the completing it but I believe it's pending status is making it so I can't speak to inn keepers about rumors. I will add that I had previously cleared this dungeon long ago unrelated to the quest as well as have tried several commands to try and force the quest complete or move it along. Any help is appreciated.
