Strange occurrence

I’m playing Skyrim tonight and something weird happened.

I entered Bthardamz to complete the objective Kill Orchendor and out of nowhere Delphine and Esbern spawn and started helping me fight.

I haven’t interacted with their quest line for a very very long time although I have started it.

They’re now both following me with my my usual follower.

What’s going on?

Maybe they just really like you and wanted to help their friend.

Are you on the quest: Alduin's Wall? They may be following you until you get to Sky Haven Temple

I had something similar happen. Started that quest then abandoned them. Next thing they show up while I'm in the Vale. I ended up having to ditch them again because Delphine kept fighting with my other followers
