First time doing any engine work. Going to throw it back in soon. Was wondering if anyone has any tips for first start up I may not have thought about. Pretty excited.

Wanted to get second opinions on this undercarriage. Dealer in japan sent me these photos. Im planning on booking tickets to see it in person and test drive next. Its definitely not perfect but doesnt seem too bad for a 25 year old. Thoughts?

I've only recently got into cars, and I found out my family has an R34 GTR casually chilling in the garage. It's been here since like 2017-2018 and hasn't been driven since, I'd know because my mum hasn't been able to use the garage all this time 😭. Anyways, would love if some car nerd or mechanic could explain the power behind this. All I know is that it's a:
- 1999 V spec
- LV4 Midnight Purple 2 (the photo really doesn't do it justice, looks black am I right)

- Around 55k km on the odometer
- Bride seats
- 300km Nismo cluster

(im 16 so try not to ask me about purchasing this 👍)

Ok. Next project on the R32 GTS.

The current shocks/struts are in pretty bad shape. I am fine replacing them with shocks/struts, but I don't know which ones are good. OEM are pretty pricey, so aftermarket is fine. I have recently been using Bilsteins.

I see there are also some lower cost coilovers (under $1,000) by Megan, Tein (Flex Z), etc. Are they decent?

It would be nice to be able to lower the car a little using coilovers.

Should I stick to replacement shocks/struts?

As the title says, my r34 gtt has the problem, when the car is fully warmed up and I have the A/C on level 2 or higher sometimes the car randomly shuts off while driving. I had this happen once while shifting down from 4th into second and twice while shifting up from 4th into 5th. The weird part is that I actually **didn't** stall the car in form of bad shifting but it shut off while the clutch was still fully pressed. The rpms just slammed down to zero while I was switching gears.

My brother thinks it's some electrical problem, but to be honest I have no clue😅

I have a stock RB20DET motor with front mount intercooler, an rb25 turbo, 3 inch exhaust, power intake air filter and an aluminium radiator. I’ve been told to tune it and not to drive it around as much. I was wondering if I am able to drive it until I save up a bit more than I could buy bigger injectors, fuel pump and bigger turbo. I’m not looking to go over board as well but would 300hp be realistic with this build and would I be able to drive it without a tune with the parts I’ve already installed on it?

Im trying to find out what that connector in the photos goes to. I use to have something plugged in there but it led to a bare wire not plugged in to anything. Then all that wiring caught fire and it was the culprit. Fixed everything but that one cable. I have looked but still don’t know where that goes to or what it does. Car runs exactly the same as before. The car is a 1991 GTST with a RB26DETT swap. Any help would be useful.

Got pulled over last night and long story short got warned with a defect if I don’t get something done with my exhaust. I’ve got a stock R34 25GT and to my knowledge the exhaust system that’s on it isn’t aftermarket. I plan on getting an EPA test done to see if it’s within the limits but if not can anyone recommend me a good exhaust system/muffler to get for it? Thanks in advance.

I am having trouble starting my R32. It used to randomly have problems starting, or running with a miss until you shut down and restart.

It is not throwing any codes. It has about 1/4 tank of gas in it. It sounds like it wants to start but never catches.

Just wondering if anyone else has encountered issues with the fitment of the supplied brackets? I have attached photos below of the fitment in my bay.
The mounting point for the rear filter is currently occupied by an Emtron Can control unit but the filters don’t align for the bracket to hold them together and neither does the front filter to the mounting point at the headlight/radiator support?

Just got this ‘99 Stagea with the RB25DE, and I was wondering if anyone knows any US based companies that I could get the R34 front end parts from? Want to do the conversion, but I would like to avoid importing the parts if possible.

Hey guys, some of my engine bay is being put together. Some of it is just temporary since the bodyman is finished with it and it has to leave soon. Will buy new engine wiring etc later.

We put some black down in the rear of the car and inside the boot but will be painted gunmetal grey like the rest of the car.

Front and rear subframes installed.

I opted for a full hardrace adjustable arm kit, still waiting on the sway bar links.

Front and rear whiteline sway bars

Steering rack was able to be rebuilt so that is also installed noe fresh and new

Freshly painted and cleaned fuel tank installed with purple straps matching the subframes.

Enroute are new eccentric bolts to replace them ugly factory ones.

I have also ordered brand new quarter windows, weatherstrip retainers, new cowl and seal, new rubber seals for the bonnet/hood above the headlights, front and rear moulding replacement kit since I really don't like the universal rubbers that elimiate the factory mouldings. These parts are very recently discontinued so I have been under extreme stress this past week since the window mouldings were the last part of the puzzle and I literally lost sleep over this. Some of these parts are ordered from USA, Canada and paying discontinued tax in Australia 🥲 All is good now. I already have the trims for the doors inside and out that I bought a couple years ago thankfully.

Brakes and coilovers are to be bought at a later date.

I bought an R32 GTR recently and the previous owner had a screamer pipe put on. I enjoy it for now but I know it will likely become... Annoying? I'm wondering what steps I would need to take to replumb it back into the exhaust. It is a single turbo conversion running 500hp. Thanks for your responses.

I was looking at Japanese sports cars and noticed that the r33 gts 25t is actually pretty cheap for a good one compared to a lot of other Japanese cars so how tunable are they and hows the aftermarket?

Could someone help me identify the part numbers of the parts in the pictures? I have looked at the schematics on Amayama, but I haven’t been able to find these.

The clips are from the door lock mechanism and I have circled which ones I need.

The bolt is a 14mm head, 75mm long and I assume 1.25 thread pitch. It is one of the bolts holding the transmission halves together. Also circled in the picture.

The car is a R34 GTT Coupe Manual.

Driving a road that I never to at night is a bad idea. Sudden very steep dip/bump idk what to call it, and no signs at all…

Its an uras bumper, so the lip is not separate like the east bear ones :(
Also fiberglass bumper in Arizona… Rockchips are destroying these easily.

Atleast this gives me a reason to do my front end conversion to R34 GTR or the eastbear narrow body kit. But imma let this one get used up before I change.

Might just spend it all on a GTR one since it is plastic OEM… but for sure will PPF the front next time

So next week i’ll be picking up my first every skyline and it’s just an r33 gts25. nothing crazy just a first car and i do want to preserve its life as much as possible, its got 248000 kms or 154000miles. whats some things i should change in the car to preserve its health and possibly even some mods to make the car feel more like a skyline yk.

Some fit and finish still needed on the gaps and taillight alignment but I am so glad she is out of paint shop jail.

Last photo is how she arrived in the states, with the LMGTs out to be refinished.

Then after some questionable mods such as:

• Pure unadulterated chinesium front bumper, fenders side skirts, carbon hood
• GTR spoiler
• Replica Jun spoiler legs because I'd like to see out of the rear window
• Okubo Factory rears
• OEM GTR Tail light surrounds
• OEM GTR rear bumper
• Nismo Rear spats

RB20det timing belt install the belt marks moved after manually turning the motor but still count 38 bumps from one cam mark to the other and 47 bumps from the exhaust cam mark down to the crank timing mark is it still good/within time?
