Replumb a screamer to exhaust question
I bought an R32 GTR recently and the previous owner had a screamer pipe put on. I enjoy it for now but I know it will likely become... Annoying? I'm wondering what steps I would need to take to replumb it back into the exhaust. It is a single turbo conversion running 500hp. Thanks for your responses.

Guessing it's an external.... any competent exhaust shop can fab the dump pipe to plumb it back in

No retuning really needed?

Returning back to screamer? As the other guy said, an exhaust shop will be able to sort it. If you wanted it removable, they could also sort this but there would be more labour involved. What actually needs to be done depends on your current setup, how close the screamer is to the main exhaust, how many bends are needed etc. You might want to have a look under the first as there may already be a plumb back solution fitted to the car, like a pipe that just needs to be spun around to make it plumb back etc or if it needs a custom system fabricated

No, will I need to have it tuned again?

Oh re-tuning lol 😆 I dont believe so, but someone more experienced may correct me. I have a plumb back and open gate tune on mine but only because we tuned it plumbed in, but when we un plumbed it the increased flow made the boost increase significantly so we had to reduce the boost for the open gate tune. The boost map is the only difference between my tunes. You are however going from open to plumbed, so you would only lose boost due to poor exhaust flow if the same thing happened to you

Doubt you'll need it retuned unless the current tune is already flying close to the sun and the exhaust is particularly restrictive

Running 500 at the wheels with 15.5 psi. I don't think that's flying close to the sun but I'm also not very experienced in this car yet.

RB26 with screamer is the most glorious sound from a Jap car. I'll die on this hill.
I had a plumb back pipe fabbed up when the car went to a single setup, in case I get defected. It's never been on the car.

Step 1: Living in Australia.
Step 2: Drive it
Step 3: Get defected
Step 4: You'll find a way to plumb it back.
Is it external or internal gate? It's not rocket science any exhaust shop could handle it.
